What do you think of the C-HR? This Limited trim and other features are new for 2019! Would you take this or the 2019 Corolla Hatchback? Thanks for watching !
My 2012 Corolla was sluggish and a spongy ride. I bought the 2018 C-HR and love it. I've taken several day trips, and find it comfortable to drive. On the highway I've averaged 36 mpg.
Thanks for the detailed review. I love this car so much I bought one! I just bought a 2019 2 tone C HR XLE. The car has AMAZING safety features which was a big deciding factor for me to keep my family safe. I love the blind spot monitor and it scored a perfect NHTSA 5 star overall safety rating. In addition to the great looks, great handling, safety features, and legendary Toyota quality what people fail to mention are the optional Toyota TRD performance parts available right from the dealer. I just ordered a TRD Air Intake kit to increase the horsepower and torque and later I will get the TRD Lowering Springs to further improve the handling. My wife really likes the higher riding position of this car especially compared other modern sedans like a Nissan Altima we rented. I also wished there were dedicated buttons for the different drive modes as well as having vent for the rear seats. Other than that my family and I really love this car. Bravo Toyota. Bravo.

I currently have a 2018 C-HR XLE and stopped by my local Toyota dealership today just wanting to check out the 2019 C-HR's. Ended up putting a down payment for a 2019 XLE Blizzard Pearl with Black Roof. I felt paying the difference for the 2019 XLE was worth it with the new features added for not much more cost than what I paid for my 2018 XLE.
Very nice! Yes the 2019 features are nice and especially when you think about the prices. Nice color choices. Hope you enjoy that one! Thanks for watching
Just leased the XLE trim. Very satisfied thus far coming from a Honda Civic that literally had nothing in it I'm happy that my car has push button start, keyless entry, and power folding mirrors. I will go back to get remote start soon and am happy with how it handles the snow.
It definitely needs that new dynamic force engine found in the new Corolla's. I'm intrigued by this vehicle and like the sporty styling. If they make changes to the engine and make it more powerful I'll think about getting one also, they should just move the rear door handle in its normal position instead of up high, and extend the rear glass a little it would be really nice. The ton of standard safety stuff is definitely a plus as competitors charge extra. Looks like a good vehicle, but can be great if some changes are made.
Well said Jon! I 100% agree on this getting the new Corolla engine too...it would be great here. Good point on the door handle and safety features too. Thanks for the input and watching!

Hey Nolan! Nice to see you do a follow up video of the 2019 to go with your video of the 2018. Good and thorough review man. It’s nice to see Toyota make some improvements after just one year. I like the fact that you can get the leather now. Still wish they would offer a sunroof and LED head lamps. Maybe just me, but I can’t stand seeing a car on the road with halogen head lamps and LED fog lamps....it’s just weird. Overall, I think I would go with Corolla XSE hatchback over this. I still have an issue with the rear door set up on this and you can get a manual transmission on the Corolla which I hear is quite good. Oh and since you mentioned the headrest....so many newer cars have headrests that are positioned so far forward. It can be so uncomfortable. All Subaru’s (and some others) have headrests that can be adjusted up and down and can be tilted forwards and backwards. It was very easy for me to find a comfortable position in my Legacy. Wonder why more manufacturers don’t include these adjustable headrests.?.
Thanks man! I was surprised they sent this considering I recently had the other one but I guess since they made changes lol. Totally agree on the sunroof and headlights...bugs me too lol. I’m with you on the Corolla XSE hatch too...it seems like a nice ride and yes that manual, I’m hoping I get that if they let me see one. Seriously though the headrests...that’s fantastic Subaru does this. I don’t get it but hopefully others follow suit. Thanks for watching! 👍
Prime Autotainment Nice, I hope you get to review the Hatch soon. I’m interested to see what it’s all about. My neighbor got one (an automatic) a few weeks ago and it looks pretty good. Hopefully they do send that stick though! 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼
I have the 2018 C-HR red body white top. I love it, it's really fun to drive. Definitely maneuvers well with turning and weaving into traffic. I actually like the merge into traffic speed it really picks up to me lol. But, I'm a fast driver I like to pretend I'm in a race car. I really like the design and looks of this vehicle! The smaller size and the not so powerful engine are the only things that are holding it back and I don't think Toyota is gonna improve on those because nobody would buy their RAV4s, Lexus sub-compacts, etc. anymore. They'll just buy this one instead...
Good point! I agree with you and wish they could offer a bit more especially in the engine power aspect. There’s always the give and take with the car companies, still a nice vehicle overall. I’d personally go for the new RAV4 and spend the extra over this. Thanks for watching!

I got an 09 xB manual with over 190 in mileage. I want a new Toyota for sure but I would take the Corolla hatch over this but would even pass on that. Spec for spec I want more power overall with better mpg on a manual or I’m going to keep on with my Scion.
Marlo Hansen thanks for the input Marlo! I hear ya...it would be nice to get some more power and fun but still good MPGs...hard to come by. Thanks for watching!
I know I am not the Toyota preferred demographic for this car (57yr old), but I really like this car. Only thing I wish it had would be the new 2.0ltr/CVT that is in the new Corolla.
LOL Nolan, you just mentioned what I was just going to say. The Corolla Hatch Much Better Choice according to whatI have read, and seen it’s a very good car. The only thing this has going on is different look. How much was this base and loaded? My 2017 Impala get’s over 30mpg just took a trip to NH to pick up the New IPad Keyboard and Pencil and I averaged 38.5 mpg round trip 90 miles traveled. First real hwy trip since I bought it August 2017 :) Awesome Review with real truth.
The hatch seems impressive for the price. Not sure about actual cost for the hatch but the CHR starts around $21K while this was $28K. Very impressive MPG especially for that size of car! Can’t complain about that, comfortable car too. Thanks for watching! 👍
Nope! Road noise goes up once you break the car in. I’ve owned it for 2 years now and the front windows have a seam/trim that divide the windows and it’s actually making a high pitch noise when on the expressway especially on windy days -_-
why is the fuel economy so awful i'd like to know, plus the engine literally screams climbing hills here in the village i live in south wales uk. any tips would be grateful
I was wondering why it didn’t get better MPG too, especially compared to the Corolla. The CVT transmission is gonna keep the engine RPMs pretty higher when it needs to go up hills...you could put it in sport mode to get more power but it’s only going to raise the RPMs even more..possibly try eco mode when not needing to go up hills
Yeah the Kona is a nice value for sure. It’s quite practical too. I love the idea of Toyota’s reliability and resale values but I really don’t think the Kona will have an issue with either of those
Destiny Ajiboye not really. All trims get 6 speakers which isn’t bad but there’s not much for bass. To me, it could be better but you’d have to check it out and see what you think 👍
Yeah it’s a bummer. It’s fine in town but I do a lot of highway driving/merging from on ramps etc and it was sluggish getting up to those speeds and trying to pass on a 2 lane highway. Maybe try one for yourself but just my opinion
Thanks, Natalie! I know the Honda HR-V, Nissan Kicks & Hyundai Kona all offer the dynamic guidelines. The HR-V has multiple viewing angles while the Kicks has a 360 (top down) view which is cool. I know the Mazda CX-3 doesn't, not sure about any others
Looks interesting. Interior interesting. But if Toyota keeps under powering this car it will not sell in numbers. Why go through all the effort to sell a car that is less powerful than cars 20 years ago. At least put a 1.6L turbo like Hyundai has and option AWD. In the age of SUV make it more capable and some might want it for the utility of power and bad road handling. Anyone who buys it now knows nothing about cars. For interior room a GTI is better. Even a Golf is better and both more fun.
I really wish they gave it more power too, especially considering it’s MPGs aren’t that great and the new Corolla gets the better engine. I don’t get it. Thanks for the input and watching!
I don’t blame you for being concerned about the CVTs...I’ve heard about that but don’t really know what’s going on for sure. I’m actually testing a Corolla Hatchback right now and I like it more. I wish it had. Ore cargo space, but overall I like it better for comfort, engine power/efficiency. They’re both very similar though. A test drive if each would probably help ya out! Good luck 👍
Lol I didn’t block anything out. Are you talking about the black thing on top of the plate? That’s a thing Toyota uses for tracking and tolls..things like that

Tried the Sport mode?
Nope! Road noise goes up once you break the car in. I’ve owned it for 2 years now and the front windows have a seam/trim that divide the windows and it’s actually making a high pitch noise when on the expressway especially on windy days -_-
That stinks! Road noise is no fun. Try taking it to Toyota if it’s under warranty they might look at that
why is the fuel economy so awful i'd like to know, plus the engine literally screams climbing hills here in the village i live in south wales uk. any tips would be grateful
Hyundai Kona SEL or the C-HR LE? The Kona offers more, and it's a tad faster than the CHR.
Yeah the Kona is a nice value for sure. It’s quite practical too. I love the idea of Toyota’s reliability and resale values but I really don’t think the Kona will have an issue with either of those
Tested this car last week.
Yes, noisier than actually moving.
Please please please upgrade the engine before my wife buy one.
Does this come with sequential turn light signaling?
This model in the US doesn’t but I believe it might in other countries. Not sure which ones
I reely love this car❤❤❤❤❤ ho my lord and i need it
Yes I would buy one
Is the CVT in all versions of this?
Either 6 speed manual or CVT for all trims. No regular automatic
Is the sound really good in this car , does it have a good base?
Destiny Ajiboye not really. All trims get 6 speakers which isn’t bad but there’s not much for bass. To me, it could be better but you’d have to check it out and see what you think 👍
What colour is this?
I'd consider this car if you said that the power was adequate. Thanks for letting me know that it's not that quick.
Yeah it’s a bummer. It’s fine in town but I do a lot of highway driving/merging from on ramps etc and it was sluggish getting up to those speeds and trying to pass on a 2 lane highway. Maybe try one for yourself but just my opinion
Nice car so much like it
Love your review! Can you suggest some cars that are similar to the CHR but offer the dynamic parking guideline while turning the wheel? Thank you!
@@PrimeAutotainment Thank you so much!
No problem, stop back with any other questions!
it’s technically been out for 2 years not 1. there was a 2017 Koba edition 1.6 L with a turbo
Can you film 2018 Mercedes amg s65?
I’d love to! I’ll try...haven’t been able to do s Benz yet but I will when I can
I want to buy one is it good;;;
I would spend the extra to get a Rav4. I think there are better options in this class
Can you film 2018 Toyota Sequoia Platinum?
I probably can...I don’t have a connection with a dealer to pick one but if Toyota gives me the option to review one I will!
Toyota please make an all electric version of this car
Wouldn’t surprise me if something like it comes in the near future
Well it's obvious you don't like the car..but i like the car and its easy to clean as well..
Did i miss the part with the carplay?
I didn’t plug it in for Carplay, but it works just like any other vehicle, gotta push the “projection” icon on the radio then it’s good to go
The only item the Toyota chr is missing all round cams, like the Nissan Juke tekna
First Toyota have power folding mirror
I felt like the CH-R was rushed out too early.
I agree
I used to like toyota.
Hope the Corolla 2019 come much better!
The new Corolla is a step up from the old one that’s for sure! More fun, more style, more power 😁
I'd take this over the Corolla hatch.
Thanks for the input and for watching! 👍
Though I’m still keeping my toes crossed for the alleged AWD Kia Soul to finally be a reality instead of a concept
xanth987 that would be great and a fun little ride. Don’t get a foot cramp crossing your toes too long 😅
Looks interesting.
Disappointing that the 2019 doesn’t have a sunroof, that shows that input from the buyers is not considered and thus a shame.
Saved Sibanda yeah it’s a bummer. I don’t understand why they wouldn’t offer that
Why do want a sun.roof
Prefer solid car- roof to match car😁
144hp is kinda low for vehicle that size
Yeah that was disappointing. I’m hoping to up the power with a refresh in a couple years
❤️
Lovely car fancy one
Amg s65 is luxurious than the ls500
The black top takes away the look of the car it looks lost from the front but awesome front the sides 🤷🏾♂️
not worth buying
i mean if ur paying this much for this car then just get hrv at least it has sunroof
Toyota's reliability still beats the HRV. Honda dealers don't discount their vehicles very much.
Nope. If I’m going to get a Toyota, it will be the gas RAV4 Adventure trim.
Good choice with the Rav! I’m excited to see more information about it
Good
Finally leather
Man!!!
I can’t really decide between C-HR
Or Corolla Hatchback Specially after the recalls about CVT on the new Corollas 🙁
Good luck 👍
Definitely trying both
I wish that C-HR had an AWD option
I’ll look forward to see your review on the Corolla
Great Work BTW 👍🏻
Thank you very much! It will be published in the coming days!
I love it but I'm scared to buy a car
What are you afraid of?
@@PrimeAutotainment I don't like to get them dirty.
Lol that’s just part of it I guess. You can wash it anytime 😁
Bubba. Show going on the interstate then if you think it wont accelerate
I prefer to stay away from traffic while talking and driving. If you don’t believe that it’s slow-ish then go drive one
😻
In other parts of the world they offer bird’s eye view for this model except in usa boo 😒
Subcompact suv
For $28 thousand I expect more. I would buy this model for $18 thousand but not $28
I agree that the price is too high!
Anemic engine
Where's Android Auto? Come on Toyota.
No kidding. It’s coming but not til next year
Hi Nolan
We obviously know you’re from Texas, no need to block out that part of your plates. It’s super obvious.
Lol I didn’t block anything out. Are you talking about the black thing on top of the plate? That’s a thing Toyota uses for tracking and tolls..things like that
