Thank you Mr. Helton. I lived in Denver when the city was awarded the MLB franchise. I was at the Coors Field groundbreaking in 1991 and traveled to New York for the first games in franchise history at Shea Stadium. I took my mother (a lifelong White Sox fan) to the first home game in franchise history one week later. My mother loved the Rockies and was a lifelong Todd Helton fan. She passed away 5 years ago but would be delighted to know of your induction in Cooperstown. I was a season ticketholder until life took me to different locations but always checked the box score to see how you fared the night before. I still display a baseball in my home office which you signed during a game in San Francisco. I happened to catch an errant baseball during batting practice and asked if you would sign it for me. You were most gracious perhaps because I was the only person wearing Rockies' purple rather than Giants' orange and black. Thank you for everything you have done on behalf of the Rockies' franchise. Congratulations Mr. Helton.
I was the law student at the University of Tennessee and I always want to see my boy T-Odd play, especially the day he had a walk off Grand salami in the college world series!
I watched you play outstanding baseball for all your 17 years in Denver. You had HOF all around skills as a hitter and defensive first baseman. Thanks for the memories in my favorite sport.
My all-time favorite player! It all started with a foul ball at an Angel's Spring Training Game at Diablo Stadium in Tempe, AZ when bench coach Bud Black tossed me Todd's foul ball. Everyone made fun of me for being a Rockies fan in Arizona but I wouldn't have traded it for anything! I grew up in the backyard playing home run derby with my friends... I was always Todd Helton!
06.19.2001. It was the top of the 4th inning in Houston. Todd Helton hit a home run off of Roy Oswalt. It was my ball to catch! My seat was in the upper deck in Section 252. I dropped the ball and another fan picked it up.... I will never forget that moment.
Well Done, Todd…I’m a little older than you but have lived in Knoxville all my life…played Baseball at Gibbs high School…about 5-6 miles from Central High school…Retired from the University of Tennessee after 31 years in 2018…attending many of Tennessee baseball games while you were playing…Congratulations!!!
Todd Helton is the *first* Colorado Rockies player to be inducted into the Hall of Fame after spending his *entire* career there! His teammate for nearly a decade, Larry Walker, was the first Colorado Rockies player to be inducted into the Hall of Fame. However, Larry Walker started his career with the Expos and ended his career with the Cardinals. Todd Helton never went anywhere else! 🤓
Think one of the most incredible things that VFL/HOFer Todd Helton did unselfishly was help VFL/NFL HOFer Peyton Manning use the Rockies facilities to rehab from his neck surgery during the NFL lockout strike that would lead Peyton to play QB for the Broncos leading them to 2 super bowl appearances & winning Super Bowl 50 before retiring after that season.
Number 17 who played for the Colorado Rockies was one of the most pure five 2 players in baseball as a Phillies I hated to see 17 come to the fleet because I knew he was going to impact the game in a negative Way with the Phillies. Congratulations Todd on your induction well deserved Brian Moore Wilmington, Delaware
Todd Helton made the Baseball Hall of Fame. He started over Peyton Manning at Tennessee, when Peyton was a true freshman quarterback. Everyone knew Peyton was the truth... Todd got hurt in football; went to baseball, and became a hall offl farmer today.
@@billlarussa5908 ok, sure. ? look at their career numbers. they have similar numbers, yet TH played in hitter friendly Coors field, were as Garvey played most of his career in Dodger stadium which was one of the worst ball parks for hitters. Garvey also had stellar post season numbers, won a WS with the Dodgers and hit a game winning HR in the NL pennant with the Padres. were as TH's post season numbers are virtually non existent. and then when it comes to defense, Helton had 3 gold gloves , were as Garvey had 4 gold gloves and" holds the record for the highest career fielding percentage by a first baseman and is the only player in history of baseball to have an errorless season at first base."

This was one of the best speeches I’ve ever heard. It is so deserved and I respect all that he said.
Congratulations Todd!
God bless!
My first favorite player of baseball growing up. So deserved
I think he should have won more gold gloves also.
Congrats Todd! Well deserved. The face of the Rockies franchise for so many years. One of the best pure hitters of all time.
We love you Todd. Thank you for being a Rockie. Theres plenty doubt there will ever be a better one. Best hitter I ever seen.
The reason why I wear #17. Congratulations Todd Helton!!!
Wear it proudly bro!

Todd Helton is a stand up guy and gifted athlete. I couldn’t be happier for him and the entire Helton family, for his success.

Such a huge part of my childhood. The Toddfather will never be forgotten 🐐

Great player and was great to watch play the game of baseball
Great year for Volunteer baseball. A national championship in Omaha, and now a native son is elected to the Hall of Fame.

I bet you got the last laugh when the Rockies beat the Diamondbacks to go to the World Series against the Red Sox in 2007.
After the induction, Todd grabbed some beers, got in his truck, and drove into the sunset. Some things never change.
Todd Helton was one of the last players to seriously threaten to bat .400 in a season (2000).
Such a class act

What a lineup: Helton, Walker, Bichette, and Castilla.
One of the best pure hitters in baseball Philly killer every time you stepped in the box as a
Well deserved. My 2nd favorite player of all time. Johnny Bench being my favorite. Congratulations Todd.

Rockies hitters get too much flack because of the altitude, this guy was an All-Star
Finally the HOF is recognizing baseball player that weren’t HOUSEHOLD NAMES smart move by the baseball writers

Happy he beat the Coors Field allegations.
I do love Baseball, but the Rockies love you more.

Wish Peyton was there to hear him say that
Babe Herman should be there 2 it’s not fair to use AllStar selections stats against seasons prior to 1933 he clearly was 1 from 29-32’
Goat, boutta watch feltner get shelled right now, but man I love this team

DAVE PARKER SHOULD BE IN
Stopping people from saying first
someone explain how s.rolen is enshrined while s.garvey is out looking in
👏👏👏👏🧡🍊
Was his college teammate there? Was Peyton manning there?
He did talk about him a bit, so I'm assuming he was there.
No thumbnail?
how is TH in the HOF, but Steve Garvey isn't..?
Because he was a better player.
Thanks for coming.
