I breakdown 25 Natural and Artificial Sweeteners... the Health Effects are SHOCKING.

- I’ve spent a considerable amount of time conducting exhaustive research on 25 different sweeteners to determine how they impact weight loss, inflammation, toxicity, and calorie content. To make it easy to follow along, I’ve put together a chart summarizing my findings. Throughout my presentation, I strive to provide an unbiased overview of each sweetener and even share which ones I and Nurse Livingood keep in our own cupboards.
Additionally, I address the controversy surrounding the use of Erythritol and give my perspective on how to maintain a healthy weight while still indulging in sweet treats. My goal is to provide a comprehensive and informative guide to sweeteners and their effects on the body.

I can’t tolerate Stevia. Stevia acts as a diuretic and a vasodilator on me. Ended up 4x’s in the ER in 2022. Cut out Stevia and I’m fine now. I still mainly use Erythritol & Allulose now. Lost 150lbs on low carb healthy eating. From 321lbs to 170lbs. 62 years old.
That is incredible, glad you are here with us:) -LGD Team
How did you think to cut out Stevia? What do you mean when you say acts as a vasodilator?
What stevia did you use? Was it pure and organic .. only ingredient?
Wow! Sounds like an allergic reaction.
Thanks good you figured out the allergy. Congrats on losing all the weight.
Can We get a COPY of the Chart!! It is AWESOME!!!
We don't have on to send.. We'd recommend pausing the video and taking a screen shot as needed! ☺️ -LGD Team
Dr. DLG you just keep knocking it out of the park when it comes to teaching us. So thankful how much you offer us. You put any and all doctors I've ever come in contact with over the past 40 yrs to shame... Complacent, non compassionate, quantity over quality of care. No teaching and piss pore examination screenings and exams. If other doctors aren't honoring and praising what you're doing maybe it's time for them to find another career!
Love you & nurse LG, your team and all your research!!
Thank you for your love and support! We are glad you are here with us! -LGD Team
This was a great video and I was told all about all these sugar alternatives so now I go with a royal sugar and small moderations
Most discussions involving stevia are referring to the processed stevia which is usually combined with other chemical sweeteners and is bleached. Stevia is a PLANT; capitalized for emphasis. I grow stevia, dry it and use it raw in small amounts. I don't use it for dieting rather as a replacement for adding sugar to my beverages.
I use it in my French press coffee or in herb tea infusions etc. I doubt it has the same problems as processed stevia. Get a plant (or 5) and it comes back every year in zone 8 up.
That was exactly my question.. they’re using stevia that is highly processed and has other ingredients. I actually grew stevia plant! Again.. it’s a PLANT!
Also the unique thing about Stevia is that it's a plant but the sweetness one tastes from it is not a plant sugar. I think that point is most often not discussed. It is a great sweetener in its unadulterated form
Awesome video and charts! Soo helpful!
Thank you, Dr. Livingood! This was so comprehensive. Great to see!
Glad you are here with us:) -LGD Team
Thisis one of the BEST educational videos I have heard on Sugar!!! Thank you
Thanks for being here with us! -LGD Team
I just love all your knowledge and the fact that you share it. I am a member of DLG and have learned so much. I really wish doctors were interested in this approach to health, its so discouraging to try and find a holistic doctor that doesn't write prescriptions for everything. Thank you a million times over!
Glad you are here with us:) -LGD Team

Great presentation and very useful information .. this needs to be known by everyone!
Thanks for watching! 🤩 -LGD Team
Stevia is easy to keep the plant alive indoors. Different types and levels of sweetness in plants. I bought mine in April and it's producing new leaves inside as well as it did outside in a shady back yard. Just a few fresh leaves in my coffee mug is as sweet as a packet of processed.
Mind blown!!! Diabetic for 30+ years. Gastric bypass 7 years ago. Only eating these horrible products.
With this knowledge I can and will do better!!!
I can’t thank you enough for this information.

Thank you coach livingood!!!! 🎉 God bless you for teaching us,cant put a price on this knowledge ❤️ putting it in practice is the secret w this info!!
Thank you for this in-depth and detailed research. I love your presentation. I have been listening to your RUclips videos for months and have participated in several challenges and master classes.
I realized that I was addicted to sugar and switched from sugar to Splenda about 10 years ago. Last month I realized that I had become addicted to Splenda so I switched to monk fruit per your suggestion. The aftertaste is not palatable but I remind myself that I did not like Splenda when I first switched to it. Again, thank you for teaching proper nutrition to all of us.
Glad you are here with us! -LGD Team
Excellent! You are the best. Thank you for teaching me so, so much!
Glad you are here with us! -LGD Team
Gosh, I feel as though I just went to a “Sweeteners 101” class! I cannot thank you enough for this information! After I had pancreatitis/gallbladder attack last year, I had my gallbladder removed. Plus, they told me I had fatty liver and they did a biopsy because of scarring which turned out ok. I came home knowing I had to make lots of food, lifestyle changes so I started watching you and Dr Eric Berg on what do and how to do it. Not a fan of Keto so I do a
Mediterranean style of eating, watch my carbs, processed foods, sugar etc. Really just a common sense approach. I’ve lost 50 lbs and still working on another 30 lbs. Thank you again for your research, your great advice, your good common sense approach when it comes to eating, food choices… practicality of these choices. I do take Terry Naturally Healthy Liver supplement. I cannot afford a lot of supplements! Better to make wiser choices in the kitchen than pop 20 supplements a day! I appreciate you!
Thank you for the most valuable information.
Just found your site and subscribed and thumbs up. Great information on sugar. i have a hole new perspective. TY
I use Manuka all the time time for sickness. The key is not to heat it past 110*. Works great!
This was so informative.
Thank you 💕💕💕
You are so welcome! -LGD Team
Wow! It never gets old to check out your videos. Thank you for the amazing knowledge you share; I just hope you can continue the good work. Btw, I make my 14yo son watch all your videos cause I believe they’re truly invaluable 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 Thank you!

OMG Dr. Thank you so much for this. I currently use Splenda occasionally and coffee syrups with sucralose. I really needed to hear this. I'm always making changes as I learn more. 💕
So glad you are here with us:) -LGD Team
I use the syrups too. 😢
Great video. I am a type 2 diabetic and since I was diagnosed almost 3 years ago. I have it under control for just about that long.❤😊
Thank you. My husband is Type 2 with stage 4 kidney disease. This is extremely helpful
Glad you are here with us:) -LGD Team
Raw local honey can also be fermented with organic garlic to make a very good natural antibiotic. I keep this in stock at my house and at the first sign of a sinus infection or respiratory issue, I take the fermented garlic with honey. Works wonders! :)
This is such a good video. The biggest takeaway of this information is the phrase you used often is “ food by God”. Man is changing all natural foods by molecule changes (synthetic)to make the product they are making to take the place of a natural ingredient so they can register the new product as theirs. Then they have to try to get rid of the natural. Problem is, what did the molecule they got rid of do to the true nutrient that the molecule give us? Evidently a bunch as we are all having health issues that you brought out. Thanks for this.
Thanks for all the information!
Thanks for being here with us! -LGD Team
Doc, the title you gave those one is misleading. I sent it to a friend, and she told me she never uses artificial sweeteners so she wasn't going to watch it!!! Its so much more than that!!
Good catch! Updated!
Awesome info video thanks for sharing
Thanks for joining us here:) -LGD Team
Thank you so much! So very helpful and informative! All these things can be so confusing!
Thanks for being here with us! -LGD Team
Thank you for doing such a comprehensive report. My only disappointment is that you didn’t mention Bochasweet made from the sweet Japanese squash
I had googled Ace-K and it looked fine to me so I was puzzled why Whole Foods bans it, but now thanks to your video I have some specific search terms to use for further study.
Great video. Shared your links.

This is an excellent compilation of information in a good format easy to retrieve. One question on acesulfame…I am assuming with that name it has sulfa which I am allergic to?

If you can find it, Buckwheat honey has been compared to manuka honey (not exactly the same but closer and less expensive). It's darker with a stronger taste and may not be local necessarily.
Thanks DLG.
Glad you are here with us! -LGD Team
Thank you ❤️❤️
THANK YOU!!
Thanks for joining us here:) -LGD Team
Hi Dr., Lovingood
Thanks for joining us here on RUclips! -LGD Team
This is such great info. Wish I had access to this info as a teenager!
Also how can we get a class in the schools to teach this ! If I was younger id fight for this in schools boards and and a degree to teach it!!!!
So whatcha saying is stevia or stevia leaf extract is safe?
I TOTALLY AGREE! 🙌🏻🎉
I've also read that when your body processes sugar it makes its own erythritol. That's probably why there was so much in the bodies of those who already had heart and stroke issues. From the sugar not the added erythritol. They did not even say how much erythritol the subjects consumed!
Raw sugar is naturally brown.. refined brown sugar is what you get when you mix white sugar with molasses ( the two are not exactly the same)
Good morning from Tx
Nice analysis. Can we print this list?
You can screenshot and save/print:) -LGD Team
I am thankful I like Stevia. Only sweetener I like / use besides sugar.
@DrLivingood is there a printable version of the sweeteners
No, just the video! Sorry for the inconvenience, Patty! -LGD Team
Stevia negatively affects my teeth & gums. I'm sure I was overdoing it for a bit, in the morning raw food meal replacement shake, in my tea. Cut it down to just that morning shake, and now have cut that out almost entirely. My gums and tooth sensitivity are now recovering.
I use Monk Fruit in my coffee every more. I can’t tell the taste difference from results sugar. What do u think? It’s saids keto friendly and doesn’t raise your blood glucose area.
Thank you for sharing,! How long can it take to fix insulin resistance?
I would recommend you check out the following video on Dr. Livingood’s RUclips channel that will give you guidance and recipes to help you control insulin levels: ruclips.net/video/jh6Z8Mv6rCg/видео.html Making healthy Lifestyle changes is going to do so much for your insulin and overall health! Casava always makes me lightheaded, just as other carbs and sugars do.
How can I sweeten coffee with sugar taste? Feel like all alternatives taste horrible.
I started sweeteners . When they first came out. I lost some weight. But I hope Splendor is a best. That what I use today. I also drink sugar free coke. My doctor advise me to stop drinking regular coke due to become a diabetic. I am not a diabetic.
I watch this yesterday, sorta a bit long to go through it all without skipping through.
Thought about this this morning I put about 10 to 15 g of D ribose in my coffee every morning. Anyhow, I don’t recall you mentioning D ribose. I know it’s not a normal sweetener and that’s not what I use it for. But it is a sugar I think.
Is organic erythritol, organic stevia good if ur cholesterol is high
Hi Doc
I saw on the news recently that monk fruit is causing blood clot. Is this true.
What about raw sugar can that be used
Check out this video DLG made on what to look for when buying sugar substitutions: ruclips.net/video/tOnMarFBOr4/видео.html For sugar alternatives, we recommend stevia and monk fruit! Check out our specific product/brand recommendations for these on Dr. Livingood's Amazon Marketplace page under the natural sweeteners tab: www.amazon.com/shop/dr.livingood -LGD Team
Is Gavi OK to use in baking like your cakes or other desserts?
We prefer to bake with Monk fruit. 😊 -LGD Team
So, I just literally found out how dangerous tocopherols are.I was about to take my vitamin D3,K2,+4 immune boosters and thought I should check it when I found out these indeed contain tocopherols. This is very disturbing unless I'm missing something.Could you please explain.Thank you.
Tocopherols are fine as long as they are not corn or synthetically sourced. Ours are all natural and sourced from sunflowers now. -LGD Team
I got mine 6 months ago is it the good one or should I buy a new one because I definitely will I like Dr Livingood and happy that he helps so many of us.Please let me know, thank you.
WOW!!!
My wife is a diabetic, so we have no cane sugar in the house. Any and all of the artificial sweetners give me an instant headache, even MSG. Has to be bad for you.
You say to stay away from those ending in ose, but allulose ends in this and you say it is okay to use. Can you explain?
Allulose is an exception because it does not spike insulin levels:) -LGD Team
Is this in your book that shows all the good sugar to buy

Growing up, I had molasses and maple syrup, real maple syrup, and the real molasses which came in a can and now I don’t even use them but maybe I should continue using them. I would think I was healthier, so I try to convert back to things that my mother fed us when we were kids fruits vegetables, maple syrup, molasses, and so forth

Sucralose...my body knows something isn't ok here. My throat closes up whenever I have it. It's in EVERYTHING!! I hate that.
Sucraloose raises my BP to crazy high levels. Instant migraine.

I even called the monk fruit brand Lakanto previously because they include erythritol and it gives me stomach distress. I asked if I can buy monk fruit without it. They said they used to sell it by itself but not anymore. So I would like to know what brand DLG recommends.
@@donnaadams7805 true for myself too, have it, in the house used once, never again. Have heard this from a lot of folks
I use fruit 😋 and raw honey 🍯 for my sweetener. I don't need anything else. 🍯
Coconut or Coconut Palm Sugar isn't made from coconuts, it's made from the Coconut Palm flowers' nectar. Whereas Palm sugar is made from the sap of many varieties of Palm trees, not just Coconut Palm trees.
