  • Up close and personal if you have ever wanted to know how-to fly this plane. Steps are similar in different airplanes so even in not interested in the Lancair 360, this may give you a little insight.
Lots of instrument shots so you can actually see what is happening while we fly the plane.
For those of you who say this is more like "Driving" a plane ... yup, if following specific procedures for a given airplane model is "driving and not flying" oh well. lol.
I hope that for those folks out there that are not pilots, that this gives you the idea to try it out!
And remember, if you ever have the urge to fly and are in my area or meet me at a fly-in somewhere, don't be shy, come by and ask for a flight.

Thanks for all the videos! Keep them coming. I have been trying to sell the Lancair 360 to my wife. She wants a big plane and I want the small plane. Now that my Mooney has sold, the hunt is on.

In case she is reading this, Lancair is better!! lol. I am starting my hunt for the next plane as well. Well, next plane to build. If I like what I build next more than the lancair, I will probably sell the lancair... BUT.. we shall see! Everything has a price... even my lancair I guess. I really miss the building process. Next plane will possibly be a high wing.. it gets pretty hot in the big glass bubble :-). Thanks for stopping by and really appreciate the comments. If you are close by sometime, I can take your wife up to help "sell" her on the idea lol. Ask her this one question. Do you want to get there fast or do you want to get there in a semi impressive amount of time. If the answer is fast, BAM... you are in with the lancair lol. Good luck.

@@HUDPilotI love the speed and efficiency of the Lancair. Our Mooney was supposed to be the forever plane. It wasn’t even listed for sale but its such a nice example that when word got out about upgrading, I had people wanting to buy it. We will be looking for a twin Comanche but I have secretly been working on a deal with a 360. I honestly don’t know how this will play out but it will be exciting.

@gmonnig I hope you get what YOU want lol. If you need someone to give you some gotcha's (and there aren't too many) with the lancair and don't already have such a person available, feel free to drop me an email (hudpilot1@gmail.com) and I can help with some insights; more than happy to help!

Very gracious of you to let someone fly your baby! not easy to get experience in a Lancair in Canada.
    Thanks for these videos.

Hi Chris. You are absolutely correct, not easy in canada. I recall when I had to first fly my plane. I had to get my super experienced head head of TC flight ops friend go to Kingston to get himself checked out who in turn checked me out. It was quite the process before I could fly the plane from Montreal to Calgary (fly off the required hours and get the type rating).
      Thanks for stopping by!

@@HUDPilot so you did all the hard work (walked) so future Canadian Lancair pilots can run... Got it thanks for that! ha

    Awesome content!!! Love this!!
Maybe you could include as part of your opening bit/montage something that identifies which model Lancair and engine you have, maybe prop too? That way I don’t have to remember 😆!
Also, I’m guessing you were around max gross and 5c is pretty cool - takeoff roll seems long but I’m guessing that’s normal for you?
Please upload more! I’ll put you on replay to help monetize 😂.
Now I just wanna go out and sit in my 320 and think of when it’s done…. Keep it up, love your style!

Gee Ryan… y’a need to speak with my wife.. she thinks I’m an idiot! Lol.
It’s a Lancair 360. Has the 180 with fixed pitch sterna prop. Yeah long run but normal given the prop.
Check out the other vids: I go into details on everything. Thanks for writing. Always nice to hear from folks.
Hoping to be at Oshkosh this year. Maybe we will see each other out there this year.
