This is the story of how our cabin came to be my home here on Svalbard. We bought it about 3 years ago and finished the renovations this year to make it our dream home in the arctic. I hope you enjoy the video!

Cecilia, your wondrous pics capture the beauty of the far north - a pure, clean, soul penetrating stark beauty that also frightens. One can see and feel that human frailty must be respectful up there.
A couple ideas for the little empty space to the right of the tv; simple option is to put a hook on the wall inside the space to tie back the curtain from the window, pulling the fabric into the space makes it look like it served a purpose. Useful option would be to get fabric that matches the curtains and attach it to the underside of the box shelf at the top making a storage space. Decorative option would be to get a cute coat rack stand and hang blankets for snuggling on the sofa from it. Love the cosy vibes.

@@lizvickers7156 Cecelia uses Epidemic Sound, which are good for royalty free music for vloggers. Quite a few RUclipsrs use them. They are a subscription service, and I've found some of the artists with music there also post to RUclips, SoundCloud, etc.
I agree it would be great to know which artists / tracks Cecelia uses, as it is great music.
I can't be sure, is backing track from 0:00 to 2:17 the same as 4:07 to 6:29 played adagio with emphasis on different instruments?

I have just recently bought my first condo, the required changes are pretty cosmetic, but I am quite overwhelmed with the process. Now I feel a bit ashamed since I live in a big city with all services available, so it is an easy peasy comparing to your situation. I try to borrow some of your endless enthusiasm 😁

Hi Cecilia, my name is Derek Brune, and I and my wife are retired to Swakopmund, Namibia - which is a cooler coastal town on the southwest of Africa. Our country is a desert mostly. We lived in Oshakati, near to the Angolan border, for a number of years, until I retired (I served as a policeman for 42 years, then in business for 12 years), my wife is a IT specialist. The summer temperature in Oshakati was always 40+ degrees centigrade, so we spent hours in the pool. We also have two doggies (Jack Russels, which are always on the move and curious). What I enjoy about your channel is that its just the opposite to where we are - I have always wanted to visit the far northern hemisphere, and experience the ice and snow. The new room looks beautiful. My only question is: If there is a power socket on the left side, wouldn't it make more sense to have that tall furniture on the right side?
The right-handed cube in the top is bothering me soooo much. Your idea makes a lot of sense!!
I would just move the socket, then you can make the cabinets more of a long-term built-in solution. Move them flush with the left wall and then build open faced book shelves down the length of the right hand side in the corner. More room for Cecilia's books. =)

The TV room is so cozy now; it felt kind of cold before. I think it's the muted colors with the textures of the fabrics and furniture. And your kitchen; let me such say I am pea green with envy. It is gorgeous. This is one of those rare times I regret being older because if I was still in my youth I could so see myself living there.

I've watch many videos about this place, a couple who sailed here, another couple from another country and another and another, I lost count of them, the moment I saw Svalbard in their titles I would press, so fascinated by their travel and videos of this place, but yours is different, so different, because you lived here. You know this place. You know and shared with us what other visitors didn't know about, or failed to captured. Their videos already kept me coming back, but yours, your video took my breath away. The sky, the morning and night, the snow and ice, the sea and mountain, so majestically captured and I got to see them at the comfort of my home, far far away. You should put a floor lamp in the TV room in the awkward empty space on the right side! Add extra cozy light and make the gap look more intentional.
