I was just thinking how lovely it is that is such a cold place, she has such a warm, loving little family. Seeing the way Kristopher was with Grimm on the couch, or how he went straight into her arms when they were outside, was just heart melting.
Hello Cecilia. I think this is my first time commenting but I've been watching your videos for the past 3-4 months now. I really love how comforting your videos are. Watching one of your videos before going to sleep have been my routine. It just makes me feel comfortable, relax, and surreal. Thank you for showing these beautiful wonders to us. One day, I hope to see those northern lights in person but for now I'll settle seeing it through you. Thank you and happy 200k! 🍻
Honestly, seeing Grim on the sofa, on his back with his paws in the air, getting his belly scratched by Christoffer might be THE CUTEST THING I have EVER seen! And then when Grim sneezed on everyone, I laughed almost as hard as I did after Grim peed on your Christmas tree! Awesome!!! ❤️❤️❤️
Seeing you go to the gym even in such weather convinced me to leave the couch and go to the uni library to study. I had excuses ready for staying at home (which practically means that i would waste my time). you enjoying the view with such enthusiasm is a very precious thing to watch.
Watching Cecilia scrape ice off her car, ❄ whilst I am sitting here in 26 celcius weather 🌞 The extremes of this wonderful planet 🌏🇦🇺 Grim sneezes, so sweet!
I just love your channel! My 9 year old is studying Astronomy as her science and we were looking for Northern Lights and came across your channel. We have since sat and just watched several of your videos. She loves that you live up by where Elsa from Frozen lives. 😂 it all looks so cozy! I live in the southern U.S so it’s very fascinating to me, the snow is mesmerizing! Thank you for sharing your life in Svalbard! I look forward to your videos! 😊
Always love your videos. The part with Christoffer and Grim on the sofa was so sweet. Seeing you and Christoff hugging is lovely. I don't think it would be as magical all alone up there. Thank you giving us your experiences. You are soooo strong. I am a yoga teacher recovering from an injury and it is difficult being set so far back physically. Thank you for the Norther Lights. Thank you for YOU. 🤩💖
I don't think Grim could smile any harder than when he was cuddled up with Christoffer! Really pretty northern lights Cecilia. You did good. Give Christoffer a big hug for us!
I just don't think I could do it. I live in the Northern United States. I think that's far enough north, but I love living vicariously through you, Cecilia. Thanks. I am gearing up for a trip to Stockholm next month. My son has some hockey games there.

Thank you so much for showing a bit more of the struggles, like how your ice scraper broke and you couldn't see. You make life in the Arctic seem so easy but it's just refreshing to see moments where it is challenging. And I love seeing other moments where Grimm is just laying on his back with his legs open and cuddling with Christopher. What a lovely snapshot of your life!
As a lifelong upstate New Yorker, I thought we had rough winters, but I watch your videos and am humbled by the weather you endure! I love your positive outlook...always remarking on the beauty of the seasons! Thank you for your uplifting videos!! You're a gem :)
Cecilia, as a rule I wait for it to get dark outside to watch your videos! You are such a brilliant film-maker I get the feeling that I am right there with you enjoying that deep darkness of the polar night! Love from India!
Usually, I am in India too, Shruti, but now, because of visa restrictions, I am watching from Sri Lanka. So nice to be exposed to the cold through your lovely videos, Cecilia. Congrats on 200K and Blessings from a place near the Equator! 🦚
Aw, Grim napping with Christoffer is the perfect image that says "Relax" lol And I hate replacing my ice brush when the scraper breaks, so now I buy them separately
I so enjoy seeing you and Kristoffer and Grim. I always thought darkness from 4pm - 8am was tough but it's next level up there. It's magical though and I am not hating the winter as much here as I normally do thanks to you. Much love 💗
Hi Cecilia, Christoffer & Grim 🧡......It has been a wonderful pleasure watching your adventures in what has been an epic year for you all......from the cabin extension, a new boat and of course the story of adopting Grim 🐶 💞 Always love your energy and love of life and how Christoffer (the master chef & most chilled guy on the planet) completes you. Keep on doing what your doing because we merry band of followers are enjoying the ride with you..... Hi, Here's an effective solution for your frozen windshield: Prestone AS247 Trigger Spray Windshield De-Icer, 32 oz, Let the car warm up for a few minutes, use your defroster to warm the windshield, turn on your headlights to warm that glass, Spray all the glass & the wiper blades (without trying to lift the blades from the window-they might tear). Wait a few seconds & that ice will basically wipe off. I have been in frigiid climates too. I wish I had known about this Pestone! P.S. That bottle will last for years, even in Svalbard. Thanks for the great content, & Merry Xmas.
It is so beautiful and awesome to be able to see the lights! I'm very sick and will never be able to go. It gives me great joy to see you & Christopher & Grim enjoying it!!! Beautiful ! 👍👍👍
God bless you for your positive outlook and enjoying this with all of us. It is all so beautiful and calming, isn’t it? May you always have Strength, Love and Peace to surround you. Wishing you the very best of Christmas - Joy, Light and Miracles. 💝
Small tip: rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle to spray on your car windshield helps melt the ice quickly so you don’t have to scrape as much. Love your videos!
Thank you for inviting us to watch the Auora with you. On nights like tonight where I feel overwhelmed with anxiety I am reminded by you to slow down and look for the things that make life beautiful.
Enjoyed the video! I live in the high desert of S. Calif where temps reach 110 F to 120F (43 C to 49 C during our summers.) I chuckled when you said it was 0 degrees Celsius, "I'll just take my summer gloves." Here in the desert when it's 100 F or 38 C we are the same, no problem it almost feels balmy! It looked like Christopher had Grim in a Trance before sneezing -- the two were adorable!
You're doing it right, getting on with life in such wintry weather. I would absolutely stay in, bake bread and craft soups all day. Your self-discipline is amazing.
The best investment you could make is to purchase a remote car starter for your truck. Turn on the heater full blast to defrost when you park it for the night. Then when you start the truck remotely it will defrost the windshield for you and save you a whole bunch of scrapping. That'll certainly help with some of the struggles.
Poor Grim never gets any attention (LOL) He is such a big Love ❤ I would never tire of the Northern Lights!!! They are quite a sight to behold, Beautiful. Thank you for sharing them with us 😊❤
Wow! Cecilia, those are heavy duty exercises for building muscle bulk. Ballet and Pilates focus on core, inner thigh muscle strength to avoid bulk, and created an elongated look. But you are tall, so probably not as conducive to bulk. Such amazing discipline to go out in that storm for a gym workout. Good for you! Congratulations on passing the 200K mark. You deserve it. Your videos are excellent, interesting, novel, inspiring, beautiful, magical, and north-pole warm. A glimpse of a place most of us will never see for ourselves and most of us never knew existed before your videos. Best of the season to you, Christoffer and precious Grim.
CECILIA! I don’t know if it would do you all any good, but you need a FrostGuard! It goes over your windshield and side mirrors. You just pull it off whenever you are going somewhere. And frost is gone! They have two pieces that go in the side of your doors to keep it in place.

Had to smile. We had the same morning. The warmer it is with wind, the more ice seems to form. Get a rubber shower scraper for your lights to avoid slicing your knuckles. I also have a large scraper with the other side you can soak.. It works year round.👍

Absolutely breathtaking northern lights. I would love to live their. I like the cold and being their would suit me. So peaceful too. Loving your videos. ❤️
Hi Cecilia, did I see the local running club in reflective gear jogging in the snow storm when you first drove into town. There were about 3-4 people on the right hand side of the road and 5-6 on the left.
Today is my birthday, really. 🎂 You have given me one of my most favorite presents, learn to see the beauty in the dark and cold of winter. I live in Michigan, USA. For the last several winters, I get extremely depressed. I start to get anxious in the fall waiting for the winter to arrive. You, my dear, have taught me to look at the beauty of it all. I truly thank you!!!!! Please say thank you to Grim and Kris as well. Love you guys!!!
Absolutely love the take you have on winter and it makes me feel better about it instead of always finding it annoying when it's cold haha. For the next week here in northern Alberta, Canada it's coming down to around -30C where I live 😅 Gotta stay positive! 🙌 Congratulations on the 200k!
@@heatherireland2810 hello to the nicest neighbors anywhere….lovely Canadians! 🇨🇦 Western NY state here…weather not too bad no real snow yet but some wild winds the other day. And Cecilia….nothing like doggie boogers to make you feel welcome lol. Ka-choo Grim!
Agreed. But maybe they have to park right near the roadway since any driveway leading up to the house may be too difficult to plow. I’d love to know how that car even starts when it’s extremely cold. I live in upstate NY and my car barely coughs to life on cold mornings when I forget to put it in the garage overnight, and that’s only like 15°F. Car warms up much faster as well if it’s parked inside a garage, even if unheated. Wind is a killer.
In a different video, I noticed that they always park their car by the road. In that video, they took a snowmobile to their car, loaded it up with all the groceries they had bought and drove that back down to the cabin. It seems that the road is so much higher than the cabin that it wouldn’t make any sense to have a garage unless they built a driveway as well which would be more disruptive to the look and feel of the environment.
Glad he stopped for you. You are so brave to live there Cecilia. I moved back north and only lasted one winter. Too cold and scraping the ice off my car had me in tears. Had to use warm water to open my car doors. Came right back to Florida. I have lived here too long to change climate. Grim loves you two. Stay warm. Till next one.
The absolute beauty of where you live. I got emotional watching the northern lights in this video. I haven't seen them like that since I was a child. 🌟
Wow, you may be in complete darkness but those northern lights are amazing. My daughter lives in Alaska and is lucky to see them as well. So lucky, so beautiful, a blessing to be sure!
It gets to -10degrees F wind chill or worse here if we get hit by a Polar Vortex. I make sure to carry a can of ice dissolver in my car. Get one of those plug in car heaters for instant heat when you start the car. Oh and get a remote starter to warm up your car lol
I understand that frustration of getting to your car and what you think is fluffy snow that should fall off easily is stuck because of ice. I park outside but have remote start. In winter, I keep the defrost set to full blast to help melt the ice off before I leave my house. Usually it works.
I don’t know if there are other comments about this, but there are inexpensive and very quick and easy to use windshield and rear windshield covers that prevent icing and the need to scrape. I live in a wintry climate-though nothing like yours- but mine has saved me many a frustrating and long process after a long day at work during snow and ice storms.
Svalbard's long Polar Night impresses me more than the cold, since the island can't get much colder than the freezing point of the surrounding water. Now Fairbanks, Alaska, gets COLD, where in early January, it can be -30°F (-34°C) in the middle of the afternoon. THAT is uncomfortable!
The beginning definitely reminds me of what I used to have to deal with when I lived in Alaska. At least you have that nice Toyota Hilux truck! I was always trying to deal with frozen windows in a beat up old Camaro
I just loved watching this one today! You guys and Grim are just so sweet. I am watching all the way across the globe in Brunei where it is always hot year round!!! Your videos are helping me get through a tough time as I am battling Long Covid since being hospitalised for 16 days with it in August. Me, my husband and two daughters all caught Covid at the same time :( We made a promise to our girls that one day we will go and see the Northern Lights :) They haven't ever seen snow either!!!
When I am biking to work and home in the Wisconsin winter I sometimes remind myself of everything people in Svalbard do to survive a long long winter - makes facing that North wind a little easier
Du räddade just min dag! Känslan efter ett hårt kvällsskifte när en ny video från dig finns. Sluta aldrig♥️ o dina "pojkar" så goa! Ha en härlig adventstid o God Jul! Hälsningar från Finland.
That windshield situation would have driven me right back in the house! As a native Californian, I’m a total weather wimp. I would really love to see the Northern Lights, though, and your beautiful terrain there.
Thank you so so much for sharing your Magical World or a little bit of it! I absolutely love the way you love life the way you love yourself and the way you love your fur baby🥰 thank you for sharing your videos and keep them coming
I live in Hawaii but I love watching your videos because it's the opposite of my lifestyle. God has blessed us all with our own particular ideas of happiness which is contained in our spirits.
Love your videos and choice of music...., and appreciate all the hard work you do to make them. The thing I hate the most about winter is clearing the snow and ice off my car. And of course breaking the ice scraper sucks...lol
Such a beautiful, comforting video. Thank you so much for making it. All you Svalbard folk are badass, I was counting all the people out walking, when suddenly you cut to a whole field of people playing hockey out in that weather!
you do an inspiring work out!! I have been trying to get motivated its just cold out and winter makes me sleepy!! . also. the northern lights footage is SO DREAMY and calm i LOVE IT! :)
I keep a 16ounce spray bottle of windshield deicer behind the drivers seat. It's the same stuff that you put into the windshield washer bottle. Mine's rated for -40°f.
I love your videos on the northern lights. We use to get many snow storms like that here on the coast of Lake Erie, Pennsylvania USA. I always feel cozy sitting at home watching the snow. Loved Christopher with Grim. So adorable
One major thing with towns like Svalbard is healthcare. Access to doctors, dentists, surgeons, medication...cause life happens and sometimes, we get hurt. I remember when I was twelve, I broke my arm playing baseball at school. Within 10 minutes, I was in a hospital. Mind you, I live in Toronto, Canada. But what happens if something were to happen in Svalbard...say, during a snowstorm. Say you broke your arm and had the bone sticking out your arm. Super painful, lots of blood loss, one of the worst things to happen to a person's body. Can you afford to wait however long for the helicopter to come and pick you up (if it's even possible during a snowstorm) and then fly to the nearest hospital. I would of passed out by then. That's why I applaud the people who live in Svalbard. What major cities around the world take for granted, is a mere luxury the people who live here don't have. I understand why a hospital, fully equipped, meaning they can operate on a person if they were injured or in grave health, requires people...highly trained people. And I don't know about Norway or Svalbard, but here in Toronto, Canada...you would have to pay a doctor/surgeon 10 times what they've would of earned normally, just to get them to work in a remote place AND the probably won't do it year round, so you would need a team of them. It's a huge thing to ask for, especially for a small town like Svalbard. That's why if I was living there, I'd be super careful. Maybe I'm missing something, after all, I'm new to this channel. But watching this video, it just looks so beautiful.
Svalbard looks so beautiful with the city lights, and the hills/mountains behind❤ good job you had the extra ice scraper!🤣 you are definitely @cecilia pioneer of the Arctic, clearing snow with your hand, going to the gym in a snowstorm and living your best life, good to see Chris and Grim all cosied up at home. And those Northern Lights🤎
Listen, I live in Massachuestts, USA. Like out weather isn't like your weather. But, we get our fair share of icy winter coat. I think we need to invest a hand held scraper that is battery powered with heat to scrap the darn lights. There maybe one out there? But, I haven't seen it!!!
I spray an aerosol de-icer on my windshield if there is a lot of ice and it's really cold before using the scraper if needed - otherwise I use a snow brush to brush off the loosened ice. The de-icer has methanol which melts ice really quickly. You could make your own with 70% isopropyl alcohol and water in a spray bottle but it may take longer.
As a Canadian, I need to say that it is a good idea to keep extra mitts, gloves, scarves, etc in the car at all times. You never know when you will need them! Like when you accidentally bring the wrong gloves. 😉
You & Christoffer have such a lovely relationship. I can only hope to find someone as loving & caring. :) I think the 1st time I see the Northern Lights in person, I will cry. I am practically in tears watching your videos. Your video skills make me feel like I'm there.

They live on protected tundra, they can’t drive down from the road unless there is enough snow cover.
A simple car tarp would help a lot.
Hurray to 200k 🥳🥂 I thoroughly enjoyed your daily vlog and admire your dedication and adventurous spirit!
The amount of comfort your videos give...this channel is such a happy place for me❤
Wow, you may be in complete darkness but those northern lights are amazing. My daughter lives in Alaska and is lucky to see them as well. So lucky, so beautiful, a blessing to be sure!
I love Alaska!! It’s the one place I want to live in ❤️
You two are having the time of your lives. It's so beautiful. Thanks so much for sharing :)
😃😍🧡
It gets to -10degrees F wind chill or worse here if we get hit by a Polar Vortex. I make sure to carry a can of ice dissolver in my car. Get one of those plug in car heaters for instant heat when you start the car. Oh and get a remote starter to warm up your car lol
I use an windshield washer fluid that is a de-icer, (brand is RainX). You just push for windsheild washer and it de-ices it for you.
I pour a bucket of water from the tap (not warm!) over the windscreen. Ice and snow is gone without scraping ice.
It's like your stood on the moon watching the northern lights, its incredible Thankyou for showing us your lovely home ❤️
Christoffer and Grim cuddling on the couch was so sweet!
Perfect timing, thank's... needed a break
This was so heartwarming and joyful to watch...such a cold place with so much love and warmth!
This is one of my favorite videos. It's so sweet.
Your videos of the mountains, stars, lights of the town and the northern lights is other worldly! 🙂
When I am biking to work and home in the Wisconsin winter I sometimes remind myself of everything people in Svalbard do to survive a long long winter - makes facing that North wind a little easier
"And now let´s listen to how quiet it is:. . . . . . . . " Thank you for an absolutely endearing, tender and deeply
touching video! *= )*
🧡🧡🧡🧡
I love seeing your skills grow and Christoffer being a wonderful addition to your posts...he is becoming more interactive. ❤
Watching your videos of Svalbard is my happy place. Sending you, Christoffer, & Grim lots of hugs and love 💚🎄💚
Just so different. I have experienced cold places, but this is a whole different world . I can’t believe it’s the middle of the day .
Love your two boys on the couch. Happy and cozy.
Ugh I break ice scrapers every winter. I love Grim just standing on Christopher and he just takes it. He's such a trooper.
Seeing the Northern lights would never get old.
Such a beautiful, comforting video. Thank you so much for making it. All you Svalbard folk are badass, I was counting all the people out walking, when suddenly you cut to a whole field of people playing hockey out in that weather!
16:26 would make for an AMAZING wallpaper or poster print, that's what I want for christmas
you do an inspiring work out!! I have been trying to get motivated its just cold out and winter makes me sleepy!! . also. the northern lights footage is SO DREAMY and calm i LOVE IT! :)
My bell notifications went ding and I’m like clickkkkk!! Congratulations on 200K!!! We love you soooo much!! 🧡💙🧡💙🧡💙🎊❄️❄️❄️
Thank youuuu 😍🧡😍
I keep a 16ounce spray bottle of windshield deicer behind the drivers seat. It's the same stuff that you put into the windshield washer bottle. Mine's rated for -40°f.
I live in South Dakota with frequent winter white out storms. Put your GPS on, zoom in, and it will show you if you start to go off the road.
love love your channel, you crack me the hell up!!!! Thanks for your hard work on your vid's!!!
Thanks for watching! 😍😍
I do that too, but doubt that it would have any effect in such a storm 😀
As a Canadian, I need to say that it is a good idea to keep extra mitts, gloves, scarves, etc in the car at all times. You never know when you will need them! Like when you accidentally bring the wrong gloves. 😉
You & Christoffer have such a lovely relationship. I can only hope to find someone as loving & caring. :)
I think the 1st time I see the Northern Lights in person, I will cry. I am practically in tears watching your videos. Your video skills make me feel like I'm there.
Aww thank you Marianna! 🧡🧡🧡
I love your taste in music... great video to watch in the morning 💕
