I love how the weather does not interfere with everyone's plans. If that was England everything would shut, and people would be hiding behind the sofa. Definitely going to do that cake for Christmas.
In Maryland last year they shut down the entire society for a light dusting of snow on the roads and called it severe weather. LOL. It wasn’t even a half inch and didn’t stick. I’ve never seen anything like it.

I made this cake tonight after patiently waiting for the Lingonberry jam to arrive, since it had to be ordered through Amazon. I have to say it was well with the wait! Thank you Christoffer and Cecilia, this is now my new "secret" cake recipe for the family holidays! I can't wait to make it again.

Ugh I know I have said this before but I LOVE how much Christoffer has gotten better and better in front of the camera! Him starting off with a big smile saying "baking time!" made me smile soooo big :) I have enjoyed getting to know you both through your videos and appreciate how much you share your life with us! I love Christoffer baking. One day I’m going to ATTEMPT one of his recipes. A bit of research I have found that nellike is clove! Quite a few languages use the same word for the flower (carnation) as they do the spice (clove). Almost an excuse not to bake it when I couldn’t work out what carnation was. No longer 😂. I adore that tradition about Santa living in that mine btw.

It make more sense for Santa to live in Svalbard than anywhere else. No other inhabited land mass is so close to the North Pole.

Oh Mjuk Pepparkaka is 😋 yummy! It's nice to watch Christoffer baking that traditional Swedish Soft Gingerbread Cake! My grandmother made a really good such cake too and she used an old recipe but I never got it before she died and her old hand written recipe book got lost somehow among all her things! Julmust have hops ( humle) in it so it was done once to to be an alternative to alcoholic beverages for Christmas but is loved by almost all in Sweden today and a must for most on the Christmas table! I love to see the fun warm life you have on such an cold place up north. I think I have loved to live there too in that beautiful place under the Northern Lights! The difference between Norwegians and American's gathering with flaming torches on a cold winter night at the mall. The Norwegians drink mulled wine, sing Christmas carols and are thankful for the friendship of neighbors. Americans drink 40 ounce beers out of brown paper bags while waiting for the 100% sales at Saks Fifth Avenue, Foot Locker and Louis Vuitton to get started! Warming their hands by the fire glow of businesses that will never return!
