I live in Michigan in the US, so we have cold, dark winters, too (although not nearly as cold and dark or as beautiful as yours!). I always dread the lack of light and the long nights but, seeing your videos, I am gaining a new appreciation for the quiet peace of winter. Thank you for sharing your slice of the world with us!

I wouldn't say they are off grid or even almost.. remote yes but they have access to everything they need including technology, more so than me living in a small country town.

Grimm has such a beautiful coat. He reminds me so much of my Siberian Husky Nanuk. Nanuk loves snowstorms and likes to bury himself in the snow. Today is Nanuk's 13th birthday. I adopted him when he was 4.

I love the winter here in northern Kentucky, I love the cold . I just wish we had it stayed colder longer. In the summer we get about 7 Days of 100 degrees I hate it so much , when it get that hot . You got the best life on earth . Keep being positive , and help others , that need help . We are all got smile for simple things in life. You make me feel good . The landscape is just absolutely breathtaking! My dream has always been to retire high up on a mountain top somewhere in Colorado...I know...so "American like"...but I've just always been in love with the comfort and coziness of cold snowy weather and never really thought of leaving the US. But now I'm willing to bet that I would be living my best life close to the North Pole, everything I see is exactly what makes my heart flutter. Clean fresh air, wonderful landscape, amazing season changes, beautiful wildlife and spectacular waters. I am in awe and in love! 💙🐧🦭🐋🧊🌬❄🌨☃️
As an artist, the landscape you get to enjoy every single day is what I paint consistently yet I’ve never been able to experience it! For some reason it’s just what comes out of me lol. I have been to Colorado and other places with mountains but your view is straight on what I paint. Lucky girl!

I'm in Chicago and there's a thunderstorm right now and tomorrow we'll hit our first taste of fall with temperatures not reaching 70f but it's just a tease because for the rest of the week we'll go back to summer like temperatures. But Svalbard, Cecilia, every time I see your videos I tear up of yearning the solitude the low pace, the safety (other than from polar bears which are still better looking than seeing or fearing a criminal here), the views...one day!
Hi Cecilia..always pleasure to visit with you and your icy world...being a cold weather lover I can see all that beauty...I lived in Canada for years, our winters got cold into almost -30C at times...but when one dresses for it...with a good parka and warm pants..it is magical...snow and ice I take before hot sticky day...Wild life is wonderful too..those reindeers matched the snowy mountains!..and yes to a good strong coffee...could not immagine a day without it! take care...Jana x

I live in Champaign Illinois and right now it’s about 18 degrees outside. But I tell you, we don’t have the beauty here that you have there. We have shootings and homelessness. Completely sad. I always love the scenery in your videos and the music that you choose is always so relaxing. I live in Southern California and we definitely have a different type of land scape. Every bit of footage is beautiful and not one second looks anything like Dallas Texas. In our area to park at a marina on a lake it costs around $200-$300 per month. I hate climbing ladders to anywhere, especially on a boat that's docked. You always feel like you're going to fall or something else is going to happen...but wow, Christopher went up there like a chimp! Such an agile young man he is. Love that pink that's in the air - we still have a 9 hour day in southern Finland and we only lose 5 minutes of daytime every day.
Can I just say that I love the slow motion montages throughout each video! I love the tempo you have between vlogging and sharing the beautiful landscape. Magnificent!

I love how Cecilia calls Grim "not the smartest little cookie". 😁 I tell our cat constantly that he's lucky he's so cute since he's otherwise a little dummy.
I am not used to freezing temperatures in October. There are still tomatoes, cucumbers, zucchinis, squash in the gardens. If the temperature drops bellow 0C they will freeze.

Where I am it’s now 30C. I’ve lived a few New England winters (no longer in the US) but never anything like what you experience up north in Svalbard. I miss the cold, but don’t miss all the additional errands and prep it brings with it!
I used to think Svalbard was just beautiful when it snowed but this year you showed that's not the case. It really is beautiful year round. It is such an interesting part of the world, can't wait to see how you show us the midnight sun again.
Your videos are a balm, you can't imagine how they are a refugee from the confusing daily life. I even went to Ikea today to feel a little bit more into the mood of Svalbard ahahaha . Thank you for these videos!

Your boat is very nice, has all amenities so you can sleep and prepare food and fish, and Grimm loves it too. Christoffer, you are a wonderful man, very soft spoken and love to see you and Ceciaa together. I can only guess at what it is like to live your dream in such a beautiful area.
We have do the same thing with our motor home (r.v) at the end of our camping season, we take out the food and linens and we put antifreeze in the lines and empty the water tank and hot water heater! Thankfully we don’t have to climb into it.
I have to do the same thing to my RV. I have to buy RV anti-freeze and run through the water lines during winter storage. Ice in the water lines can cause expensive damage.
It's so wonderful to see Grim again, now my day is complete. Looks very cold where you have the boat, and I know it's no fun working on a boat when it's that cold. Back in the days when I had a boat that I kept in a marina, mine was always the last to be hauled out because I loved going boating on Long Island Sound even in the freezing cold. Drinking lots of hot coffee helps. I see you're going with the multicolored nails today, that's different, while mine are all purple, lol.... anyways, great video as always and hope you, Grim and Christopher stay warm.💖

I am so struck by the close connection between nature there and your lives; the increased impact the natural cycle has on your life. 24-hour sunlight transforming into 24-hour darkness. Even though I’m not sure I could live with either extreme, it touches something inside me to have such a close connection to the natural world. And I absolutely blame you for my desire to get a drone now!

I hate climbing ladders to anywhere, especially on a boat that's docked. You always feel like you're going to fall or something else is going to happen...but wow, Christopher went up there like a chimp! Such an agile young man he is.
Love that pink that's in the air - we still have a 9 hour day in southern Finland and we only lose 5 minutes of daytime every day.

I love how Cecilia calls Grim "not the smartest little cookie". 😁 I tell our cat constantly that he's lucky he's so cute since he's otherwise a little dummy.

I am not used to freezing temperatures in October. There are still tomatoes, cucumbers, zucchinis, squash in the gardens. If the temperature drops bellow 0C they will freeze.

Where I am it’s now 30C. I’ve lived a few New England winters (no longer in the US) but never anything like what you experience up north in Svalbard. I miss the cold, but don’t miss all the additional errands and prep it brings with it!

I used to think Svalbard was just beautiful when it snowed but this year you showed that's not the case. It really is beautiful year round. It is such an interesting part of the world, can't wait to see how you show us the midnight sun again.

Your boat is very nice, has all amenities so you can sleep and prepare food and fish, and Grimm loves it too. Christoffer, you are a wonderful man, very soft spoken and love to see you and Ceciaa together. I can only guess at what it is like to live your dream in such a beautiful area.

Love watching you so happy in your Arctic tundra environment. Lived in Connecticut, USA and was tired of the winter. Now live in tropical Florida.
We have do the same thing with our motor home (r.v) at the end of our camping season, we take out the food and linens and we put antifreeze in the lines and empty the water tank and hot water heater! Thankfully we don’t have to climb into it.
I have to do the same thing to my RV. I have to buy RV anti-freeze and run through the water lines during winter storage. Ice in the water lines can cause expensive damage.

It's so wonderful to see Grim again, now my day is complete. Looks very cold where you have the boat, and I know it's no fun working on a boat when it's that cold. Back in the days when I had a boat that I kept in a marina, mine was always the last to be hauled out because I loved going boating on Long Island Sound even in the freezing cold. Drinking lots of hot coffee helps. I see you're going with the multicolored nails today, that's different, while mine are all purple, lol.... anyways, great video as always and hope you, Grim and Christopher stay warm.💖

Another wonderful video. I LOVE the colors! I am so struck by the close connection between nature there and your lives; the increased impact the natural cycle has on your life. 24-hour sunlight transforming into 24-hour darkness. Even though I’m not sure I could live with either extreme, it touches something inside me to have such a close connection to the natural world. And I absolutely blame you for my desire to get a drone now!
