Anchor tests are not meant to mimic perfect anchoring technique and bottoms. In perfect conditions and technique even all of the worst anchors would perform perfectly. So, don’t try and anchor on sand above the high water mark. Back in the real world, how about on liquified sand under water? I have one of these and my experience is that it is very good. I’m sure there are better but mine has always set and re-set when the tide turns.
Believe it or not, but anchors generally work better under water.
