Great video with Dad. Love the fact he calls you Daniel, which is lovely. You really do have a gift of explaining something which is technically quite hard in a simple way. Love it.
Gosh, what amazing love, respect, decency and kindness between father and son.... Danny, you are a star .. and your dad is a great student.. I learned so much from this video...great job sir !
Danny like many others I love it when you’re teaching your Dad. It makes it 100% relatable. His chipping lesson changed my game - for the good. I can’t wait to head to the practice bunkers to try this. As a senior golfer I feel more comfortable practicing because I know it will improve my game. Thanks for helping us “oldies”. We want to keep playing.
Another great video. And your father is once again a great student, a role model for all of us - young and elder golfers. And you are so gifted explaining complicated things easily. But the vidoes with your father always touch me especially as a son. It's wonderful to see how respectful and loving you are with each other. And even though he never makes it a big issue, you can tell at every moment how proud your father is of what you have become. You both are an example for all fathers and sons. Very touching. I wish you and us many more such training sessions. All the best.
I watched this video over a year ago and it was awesome. Recently, I sort of forget all of this but re-watched the video and it’s still gold, especially the drills and the use of the toe! Bravo from Texas!
As many other comments have pointed out, the dialog with your dad and his common mistakes, along with pertinent questions, are what make this video so instructive.
Great video Danny, having your Dad there was and teaching him, I could visualise myself in the same place, and the tips and technique became much more relatable to me. Trying to get out of bunkers gives me nightmares, and wrecks a good round, just need to practice now.
Hi Danny. I am a complete convert to your lessons because how you have transformed my bunker play. Although I've been a single figure golfer for 10 or more years, bunkers were my nemesis!! Having watched your bunker video I am now actually pleased when I go in one, as I am very confident of not only getting out in one but expecting to get up and down. Thanks Tony
Best bunker instruction ever Danny. You are an incredible teacher. Thank you for having your father join you on the video. He was a great sport and such a gentleman. Lots of thanks from North Carolina, USA where you have many many fans.
Brilliant video with your dad, we need more of him ! Love how he uses your 'Sunday name' ! Something tells me he is going to be passing on your tips to his playing pals !
Here I go again at 1 am PST in northern California. Wonderful tips & time with pops. Cherished time and beneficial instruction as always. Much kudos and gratitude! Fist bump 👊 to the both of you!
I learnt so much but the respect and kindness between you and your dad was evening more inspiring. Thanks Danny. More than golf instruction going on here.
Great lesson with your lovely dad. Many golfers like me play bunker shots where there is little sand. Tour players have a lot of fine dry sand almost every time. Great to have a bunker lesson with firm sand. Also tour players play on lush, green fairways & perfect greens. I think tour players would find our typical courses a lot harder to get their very low scores. Many thanks to DANIEL & HIS GREAT DAD.
Brilliant video, thanks Danny. Thanks to your dad too for taking part. A bunker shot I struggle with is when the ball lands in a crater, such as a footprint when someone hasn't raked the bunker properly. Have you covered that in one of your videos?
Danny, many thanks for this lesson. Like your dad, I’m a senior and today I confidently got out of the bunker twice for a sandy thanks to this lesson. Got to admit that it feels great!
Why does this remind me of your lesson with Pete Cowan?! I think its because in each case it was a "live" lesson and we all can identify with the difficulty of learning a new motion in golf, whether its Rory, you or your Dad! I suspect I'm a very similar age to your father and have been struggling in bunkers but this really clicked with me. Love to see more live lessons with him (or others) in the future.
Absolutely brilliant Danny! Your understanding of what P.C. is thinking about a golf swing is best on YT. Better than guys on his academies. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
I've said this before, but I love the videos with your Dad best of all. My Dad has been gone a long time (37 years) now, but he is still my best ever golf partner. I love the way your Dad says " Thank you, Danny". Some day, hopefully a long time from now, you will only have memories of your Dad. How fortunate you are that many of your memories will be videos that you can play whenever you want.
I tuned in for a golf lesson and received a WONDERFUL lesson on humanity. There was a tremendous exchange of humility respect for each other. Very touching.....Thank you!!
I learned a lot from your teaching with your dad , whom I can relate as a senior hacker. Also your instructions are easy to follow. Enjoy viewing your posts.
Danny you would never make a politician as you talk too much sense ! I've had so many lessons over the years and spent so much money but watching your videos simplifies everything. I wish I'd been taught in your easy to understand way. LOVE WATCHING YOUR VIDEOS. Thanks Danny
You’ve changed my views on “rotation” of the body on driver and now the image of a wedge in the sand. I’m a better player thanks to you. You’ve EARNED your recognition and rewards sir, thank you.
Danny - was watching this when my son came over this evening. He struggles with bunker play and when I told him how much I enjoy your drills he watched intensely. Your dad is a great student and my son was drinking in every moment. I was able to further explain how the details of your lesson reinforced my personal play in bunkers. All that to say you may have found you a new follower.
Thanks for another practical lesson that players of all levels can benefit from, Danny. Watching your videos has become a bit of a Saturday morning ritual. This one made me miss my dad. Treasure every moment you can share with him.
Great Vid Danny, everyone has respect for Pete Cowan and I’ve watched him demonstrate this set up but you have clarified it much more, especially the importance of exiting the stroke left and also letting the club just fall with gravity. Like many golfers, I usually get the ball out ok but a bit unpredictable, probably because I try to actually “hit” the sand with some force. More like this !
I agree. Great lesson. Can't wait to try. Pete Cowan is clearly one of the best. However, I find him a bit cryptic, especially for average golfers. He needs an interpreter. Enter Danny Maude.
Hi Danny, In Dad’s lesson you have clarified a longstanding question for me. I have struggled with a) the setup over the left knee and b) exiting left from a square setup and feeling that the toe of the club is sliding under the ball. Not only is this great in bunkers, it is a treat to use around the green. Thanks Coach. from Oz
Really like your instruction on bunker play. Probably one of the hardest techniques to feel confident in. Your father is an excellent student and an inspiration to me!
Excellent! I have a decent short game but the sand traps have been my nemesis for so long. What a simple way to teach the proper technique. I can't wait to try this during my next round. I love how you teach your dad and then your dad immediately sees results. Thank you so much!
This was great Danny. The position of the left foot, allowing gravity to lead the club, amazing. I didn’t need any more, out to the course and no issues with green side bunkers. Thank you!
Tried this technique today at my golf club. Really helped me get out of a couple of bunkers today I have always struggled to get out of bunkers. Thanks Danny for the video Really useful
This might be my favorite video you've ever done. Not just for how informative it was but seeing your relationship with your dad and how humble he was to take instruction from his son was very heartwarming. He must be insanely proud of you. What a great video. Keep these coming. Oh, and if i ever make it across the pond to your area I definitely want a lesson! I suck and you could even record it and use it on your channel. lol
Wish my son learn as much as you Danny and then he teach me. Great video as usual. It’s not only your golf knowledge but the way you teach and make your videos edition. Best all around .
WOW Danny thank you. I have tried many other get out of the sand techniques. and yours actually worked. Without even practicing it I took it to the course the same morning I watched your video and got out of my first 3 bunkers. Thank you!
Brilliant Danny, as always. I’ve heard you make the point about the left foot and knee before and it’s done so much for my confidence getting out of bunkers, which I think is at least half the battle for me!
i especially enjoy these videos with your dad. i picked up the sport a little too late and never really took the opportunity to play with my grandfather. now i really wish i could.
The other day I literally searched how to get out of the bunker when I was practicing. I watched a super confusing video but I think I understand now. Pretty sure I have been making it work by doing what your dad was doing but I think I can do it now! Thank you!!!
The best Bunker video I have seen by a million miles. So well explained and de-mystified. The key takeaways for me are to concentrate on the blade and use a square stance and face - I have for 30 years been concentrating on the heel of the club with wide open stance and face. Flaming obvious I know, but there you go. Can't wait to try this in the practice bunker. Just one request - it would help to show a summary screen at the end with the key take away points as an aide memoire as difficult to watch a video on the practice ground. 1. Straight stance. 2. Open lead foot and knee pointing out 3. Ball JUST ahead of centre inside lead heel (I have always had the ball way forward.) 4.Weight favoring front foot - to stop leaning back in swing. 5. Square face - to start with 6. Point butt of club to belly button. 7. Let club fall (also key for me - I have normally had to hit the sand so hard to get only a short distance. 8. For distance - longer takeaway 9. For height open face - but still concentrate on blade . By the way - you may need to change the name of your channel to Danny Maude and Dad - he's a star and I can absolutely identify with the way he was thinking throughout. Please bring him into some more videos. Your channel is excellent, but this video was a revelation for me. Thank you so much to both you and Dad.
Hi Danny, Just after watching the video with your dad,I went up the practice area at my GC.Immediate success in getting out of the practice bunker! I hit 30 balls and only left 2 in the bunker. Many thanks Danny,my game has come on immensely since watching your videos.Keep up the good work👍
This is a true beauty of Golf.... simply no boundaries whatsoever. This is why I started learning to play Golf at the age of 39 hoping to be able to play with my dad who is really good at playing Golf, he is turning 77 next year ^^
Brilliant video Danny. Bunker shots have always cost me at least 1-2 shots. Now looking forward to practicing this. Honestly the best explanation video of bunker play I’ve ever seen. Thanks
Definitely works having you fine tuning another person swing process and filming it. Brings clarity too your already good sessions on this format. Well done to your dad as well.
I tried this and it works. i was always a reasonable bunker player then i seemed to lose my way I tried all the things I'd been shown before and it was not helping. Watched this and I'm back to getting out and having more control with my bunker play. Thank you and your Dad for that brilliant.
Great video. This described the shot completely different from many other videos. Watching your Dad have the same bad shots as I have experienced really shows what can happen when applying the instruction.
This tip is pure gold! I play to a 22 handicap (which you have helped me improve from a 26 4 weeks ago). The bunkers on my home course are deep with heavy, coarse sand that is very thin in spots, not easy to get out of. My plan was always to hit short of the green side bunkers and rely on a decent short game which may help avoid a big number, but also turns every hole into a bogey hole and limits my chances to lower my scores. Being able to reliably get out of the sand has enabled me to be a bit more aggressive and get some better par chances! Thanks so much!
Another great video. My game, which is not great, has improved a lot this summer after watching your videos. You've made the game of golf even more enjoyable for me. Cheers, keep the videos coming.
Danny you should use your dad in your more often. He is a natural for all us senior golfers. I really pay attention when your teaching your dad.
Me too!
Does to me as well
I agree!
Me too!
Thanks Paul more to come 😁👍
Great video with Dad. Love the fact he calls you Daniel, which is lovely. You really do have a gift of explaining something which is technically quite hard in a simple way. Love it.

Thanks so much for taking the time to feedback Vijay
I wish that I could get out of the bunkers as effortlessly as your Dad.....a great father and son teaching video !!!
Thank you so much for taking the time to feedback Gary, really appreciate it
Danny maude is by far the best golf tutorial videos on RUclips.
Really kind Shaun, really happy to help
I always felt good seeing you with your dad. It makes us optimistic about playing better even when we are getting older. My regards to your dad.
Thank you!
Danny, this tip blew all my conceptions of bunker shots out of the water. Thank you. 👍
Thanks Chip hope it helps 👍
Danny, I wish your Dad many more happy, healthy years enjoying the game we all love.
Thank you Vince, appreciate the comment
Danny- you are so talented at explaining golf. Brilliant.
Thanks David 🙏
Danny like many others I love it when you’re teaching your Dad. It makes it 100% relatable. His chipping lesson changed my game - for the good. This is probably the BESt explanation of the sand shot I have ever seen. Well done sir.
Thanks

Watching you teach your Dad is inspirational on multiple levels. Son and Dad. Dad learning and guiding the rest of us seniors to better golf. Love it.

Really like your instruction on bunker play. Probably one of the hardest techniques to feel confident in. Your father is an excellent student and an inspiration to me!
Thanks so much Scott
I tried this out this morning. It really is a great tip no matter what kind of sand there is. Thanks Danny and Danny's dad
Well done Alex

Thank you Danny and Mr Maude. Danny when you teach your Dad it seems to help me learn more. Great video gentlemen. Cheers

Love you for being with your dad. Great memories! Great lesson too.
You and your Dad ... a wonderful partner !!! All my grettings to all of you from Chile
Tried this technique today at my golf club. Really helped me get out of a couple of bunkers today I have always struggled to get out of bunkers. Thanks Danny for the video Really useful
Thanks Richard 😁

i especially enjoy these videos with your dad. i picked up the sport a little too late and never really took the opportunity to play with my grandfather. now i really wish i could.
This is the best bunker lesson I have seen!
Really hope it helps Kevin
Daniel well done ,you're dad raised a great boy 👍
Very kind Carl 🙏
The other day I literally searched how to get out of the bunker when I was practicing. I watched a super confusing video but I think I understand now. Pretty sure I have been making it work by doing what your dad was doing but I think I can do it now! Thank you!!!
Great information. Your teaching method makes it easy to understand. I am a senior golfer also so, I like it when you have your Dad along.
Thanks John 😁
The best Bunker video I have seen by a million miles. So well explained and de-mystified. The key takeaways for me are to concentrate on the blade and use a square stance and face - I have for 30 years been concentrating on the heel of the club with wide open stance and face. Flaming obvious I know, but there you go. Can't wait to try this in the practice bunker.
Just one request - it would help to show a summary screen at the end with the key take away points as an aide memoire as difficult to watch a video on the practice ground.
1. Straight stance.
2. Open lead foot and knee pointing out
3. Ball JUST ahead of centre inside lead heel (I have always had the ball way forward.)
4.Weight favoring front foot - to stop leaning back in swing.
5. Square face - to start with
6. Point butt of club to belly button.
7. Let club fall (also key for me - I have normally had to hit the sand so hard to get only a short distance.
8. For distance - longer takeaway
11 months later and I am still getting out of bunkers 95% of the time. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
Watched this video and didn't realize until the end he's your dad. I love him and now I know why. ❤️
Really kind of you
having your dad laerning is great, love it, I could understand all the mistake high handicaper made, thanks
Glad you enjoyed it Dan
Danny this was pure gold. Thank you so much from down under where bunkers are hard grain river sand. Thank you so much.
Really happy to help
Daniel I love the lessons you give to your dad I feel I’m actually getting the lesson! KenB
Thanks glad you are enjoying them 👍

Best sand lesson on youtube. You and your dad are great together.
Very kind appreciate the support 😁
Definitely works having you fine tuning another person swing process and filming it. Brings clarity too your already good sessions on this format. Well done to your dad as well.
Thanks Dion 👍

Look forward to my Saturday morning’s, always some great lessons. Many thanks Danny

Thank you Danny. I’ve been struggling with bunkers and today was a big improvement thanks to your video.
Amazing, well done Roger
Wonderful training advice. The toe of the club is the key and the thought process for this shot is clear
Have fun Paul
Another great video. My game, which is not great, has improved a lot this summer after watching your videos. You've made the game of golf even more enjoyable for me. Cheers, keep the videos coming.
Thanks Mike and will do!
Great video Danny as always. Living the dream, making golf videos and hanging out with your Dad…..doesn’t get any better!! 😂
It really doesn’t Jon 😁
Great lesson as always! Your dad is very lucky to have a son/instructor as you!!
And I’m lucky to have him
