Synthetic line won't "recoil" like steel cable does. it will simply fall to the ground. In your case the tree limb may be under a spring like tension and could spring in any direction based on the tension (likely away from the winching direction.
oh man, I was watching a youtube video for my classwork but your video came on as an auto play. guess what I'm doing now, not classwork I can tell you that!
There was one hole we went into and my whole 35” tire disappeared quick lol. We backed out and found a different line. Definitely some deep ones out there!
@@4wdAdventurz 100% I got stuck past my door panels and that was fun to clean out afterwards, I would've reversed out but my diff go stuck on somethin and my front tires were sunk, that truck had 33's on it.
those guided routes, I know it's always recommended to have a lift and big tires and stuff but I just bought my truck and I am still interested, are some of the routes stock friendly or should I invest in some better equipment sooner rather than later?
@@sustequa7566 good question! Both of the rides we have currently planned are able to be done in a stock vehicle however, as you saw on this video if it rains a lot, some of the water holes in Ocala National Forest can get fairly deep and there isn’t really a bypass for some.. A good set of tires will get you a long way. If I were you, I probably would pick the ride at the end of January. The “Rowdy in withlacoochee “ride. That area is much much much more stock vehicle friendly.
You can also winch with your hood up to gain a little protection. Might keep the battery/alternator cooler as well. Thanks for the video.
That’s a good idea! I didn’t think of that!

Yes! Getting that line switched to synthetic is definitely on the todo list!
