Nice reaction and so good to see you will be reaction to all 3 songs. The Trilogy of Lights is not officially a tribute to anybody and were almost certainly written before he had is tragic accident, but most fans with a heart ❤choose to remember the late and great Kami Band guitarist Mikio Fujioka (RIP) when they listen to them. The lyrics of 'Starlight' in particular are very fitting given that he was an avid amateur astronomer or star gazer and he suffered his tragic accident while star gazing. "Fly higher in the sky [like a star gazer] Fly higher in the night [like a star gazer]...." and the softer part of the song - "Wherever we are we'll be with you We'll never forget shining starlight. Wherever you are live in my heart We'll never forget shooting star." When it comes to the Trilogy of Lights, together they describe the stages of mourning we go through after losing somebody close. 'Starlight' - the initial grief and even anger 'Shine' - acceptance and coming to terms with the loss 'Arkadia' - moving on (but not forgetting), looking to the future and better times to come. I hope you will watch the Legend M performance of 'Shine', performed on Moa's 20th birthday. In that performance it was just Su, Moa and an acoustic guitar on a stand on stage (and the symbology again suggests that tribute even though nothing has ever been said to confirm that was what it was ... but again, anybody with eyes and a heart❤must surely see why people see it that way - and they don't do things like this unintentionally even if they don't explain). The Legend M performance is also, in my opinion, possibly Su-metal's finest vocal performance - or it is right up among her very best at the very least and Moa's choreo is very moving and emotional.
⚡ 💕 / 🌟 ✨ "Wherever we are we'll be with you We'll never forget shining starlight Wherever you are live in my heart We'll never forget shooting star" Like many BABYMETAL fans, I believe this song is a memorial to Kami Band guitarist Mikio Fujioka, an avid stargazer. He died in early 2018 from injuries sustained from a fall from an observation tower. Considering the theme of loss, it's not too surprising that Su has said that she often thinks of Yui when performing this one live. The songwriters have never made any official announcement about the song meaning.
Awesome, the Trilogy of Lights is absolutely amazing. Many fans believe Starlight is an unofficial tribute to Mikio Fujioka, Kami Band guitarist who passed away in Jan 2018. Momo didn’t get a mic until she became official 3rd member in Apr 2023. Since end of 2017 until then, Moa was the only backing vocals. 🤘🦊
Nice reaction. Su said she use to sing this song with anger. Which doesn't seem like Su but when you lose someone everyone feels a little anger over it. Now I think she sings it as a fond memory. Also, Su really enjoyed hitting those hi notes loud as she could. To think she use to get scolded for singing to loud around the house. LOL All that practice paid off big time. During this time Moa really focused on her dancing skills. The Duo version of Shine with Just Su and Moa. shows off how much Moa has grown as an artist. Fantastic stuff. Kitsune Up
Thanks again for this reaction! When this was filmed, Babymetal was just Su and Moa. Momoko was still an Avenger (backup dancer) and so she did not sing and did not have a microphone. Momo was made a full member and got her mic in April of 2023. As mentioned in the request, the Trilogy of Lights are representative of the stages of grief after a great loss or loss of a loved one. Starlight represents sadness and/or anger. Looking forward to "Shine". 🤘🦊🤘⭐
Or to be precise, they had multiple applicants who first had to learn their choreo. They knew that in principle they could sing but this was only for a later date. So instead they were silent and the Sound had to come from Su and Moa.
Such a beautiful and poignant song. Yes Moa was singing live with backing track vocals. Momo was still and Avenger here so no mic and not so much screen time. Nice job with this and good thoughts on Su's always stunning vocals.
Great start to the Trilogy, and it is Moa singing . they actually switch it around near the end. Moa is singing we never forget you shining star, and Su is doing the la la la part Then it switches back. I love that part it's very effective. .😁🤘🏼🦊🤘🏼

It's been years and I still can't get through this song without getting misty eyed. RIP Mikio.

👍👍🤗A beautiful performance. 🦊 🖖❤
Good reaction👊🏽⚡️Su-Metal hits the stratosphere with her vocals🦊🤘🏾
This was before Momo was an official member, she was a "hired gun" and so at the time they didn't really focus on her in the concert videos.
Or to be precise, they had multiple applicants who first had to learn their choreo. They knew that in principle they could sing but this was only for a later date. So instead they were silent and the Sound had to come from Su and Moa.
If you want to see more of their ballad influenced metal, you should check out "Akatsuki" and "Light & Darkness".
Trilogy of lights, nice!🦊🤘🔥
Su is so consistent with her vocals, it's incredible!
