I have been fan since 2013 and I have seen them mature and I know change was coming, not like this but if Yiu health is not 100% then she would drag the band down and she would never want that. nothing saying she wont return sometime in the future. Two years ago I went to see the Monkees, even though Mike Nesmith refuses to tour with them and Davy Jones has died. Earlier this year I saw Nesmith on his own. You mentioned that Mikio was an avid stargazer. If you didn't know, on December 30th, 2017, he fell from a astrological observation (stargazing) platform. He subsequently died from his injuries on January 5th. I'm not sure if I should call this ironic, poetic or just sad. According to his wife, he died "surrounded by his family and loved ones" including his 2 daughters. He was 36 years old.
I'm sorry to say that I can confirm only Moa is on backup. They tried to cover it up, but it is blatantly obvious to trained ears that its electronic and not an actual second voice. I can confirm, however, that the other released one had two actual voices on backup, making Distortion Yui's swan song. The English is done by Moa, it definitely sounds like her voice altered to be a bit higher than normal. Why they would do that I don't know, maybe Yui was supposed to be on that part before crap hit the fan with her health and she ultimately decided to leave. Yui does have a higher voice that is about like what is heard in the song.

And yes, I have considered it, I think it was discussed there too. It seems she might have a back injury and it's not impossible Budokan is what caused it. Unlikely, but not impossible. But remember Yui liked horse riding, she could also have fallen off a horse. What to me is sad: she loves to dance and she likes horse riding if she has a bad back she might not be able to do both of those.
