Excellent reaction. You got it, this was both the intro song for the album and for this concert and it was an anthem to a new beginning. This was the second night of the BABYMETAL Begins concerts. At the end of the first night they had brought the first years of BABYMETAL and their 'Metal Resistance' lore to an end, everything that had gone before since 2010 was now memories and legend. The "new" BABYMETAL was revealed at the end of the first night with Momometal also being revealed as the third official member and a revised logo. This was the start of of the new era within the BABYMETAL lore. They made their grand entrance on their thrones, as you saw. At the previous concerts in January last year (BABYMETAL Returns) they had played their first live shows in nearly 2 years and they started those concerts with 'Metal Kingdom' as well ... but at those shows, although there were 3 thrones, only Su and Moa were sitting in them. The third throne was empty, Momoko did not perform in that song - she was there dancing as the Avenger for the rest of the concert, but she was not an official member yet and didn't have a mic. This time Momometal was there with her own throne, this was her first song at her first concert as an official member of BABYMETAL and yes, in effect they were rallying the troops for the start of this new era. If "Raise your hands/head .. the the lord" in the lyrics has any religious meaning it is the Fox God who is the lord - BABYMETAL are 3 metal spirits chosen by the Fox God - originally to lead the Metal Resistance. The song is all about looking forward, there is no going back. The new era is about something called the Metalverse (I haven't really caught up with what significance that has or how it might shape the narrative of the lore from here on). You are absolutely right about Su and her vocals. I can recognise her voice instantly, she has some unique quality in her voice that just sets her apart and her delivery has me feeling all the emotions she might want to express. I know I'm not alone in that ... maybe someone else can explain it, I'm not sure I can. I'm looking forward to seeing what song you see /hear next.
Nice reaction. Here we have the regal return of Babymetal to their kingdom the stage in front of a live audience. Before this it was about taking a journey with them on the Road of Resistance. Here Babymetal is telling us to take our own Road of Resistance and they will support us. Nice little switch up. Babymetal lyrics are full of strong uplifting positive messages. Coming back from their extended covid break Babymetal came out strong. The foxhole is deep and full of surprises
Metal Kingdom is not about going to war It's more to rally everyone together to prepare for their journey Through the metal verse in which they will explore 10 parallel worlds
Great reaction, thanks! Yes, "METAL KINGDOM" is the album opener and it was used here as the concert opener as well. This particular one is Momometal's very first song as a full member. They are using here different costumes, specific for this song. Depicting some sort of warriors or army leaders. They certainly limit their movements. It's all on purpose. Lyrics are a direct call to arms to their fans. And their goal is... well, yes world domination or better to re-unite the world through metal as their main lore always has claimed. Su-metal's voice is easily distinguishable. It's loud, powerful and pierces a wall of sound. That's the main reason why Kobametal chose her to front a metal band. Their live performances in these big format shows (mainly in Japan) are like movies (there is even drone footage). They put a lot of effort, time and money on them. 🤘🦊
Hey, thanks for your Reaction! The stage setup in this song is absolutely awesome and it's the first time they performed this song as a trio. Momometal was freshly introduced as the new third Babymetal member. Their fans are beyond anything and a real part of the entire show. The solo in the beginning of the song, after hearing this song hundred times, still gives me goosebumps. Btw. you HAVE to check out their new collab with Electric Callboy "Ratatata".
I agree, Su's voice is awesome, especially at the beginning of this song. What struck me when watching this video is that watching her sing, you can see that she is working for it. It's no coincidence that her vocals are so clear. It may sound strange, but she is obviously putting a lot of effort (and thought) into her mouth movements.
Thanks guys. This song was a clear stand out at their Sydney concert last year. It wasn't the opener, they played it mid set. Mesmerising is the right word for the lead in, and Su's voice really cuts through. Obviously the production was somewhat cut down for a small venue! Check out Monochrome live at Pia Arena, it's a jaw dropping show.
Great request Denis! I feel this version is so much more BABYMETAL than the original mv. I always really appreciate both of your thoughtful comments. I particularly appreciate that you always recognize how professional Babymetal's approach to performing is. I'm not sure a lot of people really get how much work has goine into a production like this. Then there is that secret sauce. The chemistry the ladies have with their audiences. You said "haunting, mesmerizing", perfect words to try and explain Su's exceptional voice. Thanks guys for another really wonderful reaction. Great stuff.
They just appeared at PinkPop and GrasPop in Europe. These were both big pop oriented festivals and they were the only Asian band much less the only Japanese band on the program, the only "metal" band on the program. So they are definitely trying to get a bit wider audience. Lots of collabs.
The opening act to Babymetal Returns/The Other One, It gradually builds, but never resolves. But it's not without redeeming value, for we hear something we rarely hear from Su, her vibrato! They should have named the album Metal Kingdom.
We who live in the METAL KINGDOM, gathered under Her Majesty Queen SU and Princess MOA and MOMO, have pledged to stand together to win our freedom! We will enjoy music more freely and without being restricted by genres!😁😁😁
Great reaction! You guys are pretty much dead on with your analysis. Metal Kingdom is used as the show opener. Another major significance: 3rd member Momoko, while supporting Babymetal as a backup dancer since 2019, was promoted to official 3rd member at the end of the show night before (Day 1, Black Night). She never had a mic, until this show. Thus, this specific performance was THE very first time we heard her voice as part of Babymetal! In addition, the 2-day show’s concept is the “death” of old Babymetal, and birth of the “new” Babymetal. And what an intro to “new” Babymetal this was! Collabs with western artists: Metali - ft. Tom Morello Oh! Majinai - ft. Joakim of Sabaton Distortion - ft. Alissa White-Gluz of Arch Enemy Brand New Day - ft Tim Hansen and Scott LePage of Polyphia Kingslayer - Collab with Bring Me the Horizon Road of Resistance - Herman and Sam of Dragonforce co-wrote guitars and played for the studio track. Ratatata - Collab with Electric Callboy. Just released 2 days ago! APMAs 2016 - Abridged cover of Breaking the Law and Painkiller, with Rob Halford on stage. 🤘🦊
Couple of things; watch the videos of Su when she at the Actor's School Hiroshima. Next watch the short videos Moa in concert. Little awesome and a lot go fun. Not to react to, but for fun and info.
Babymetal showing their range again. This one is almost bombastic, it's so epic in its sound, it certainly is a battlecry. It took me a while to click, it's strange not to see the ladies smiling and dancing. But sometimes you need things to be slow and dignified and big. Also, the tuning forks that they present to each other, to synchronise their frequencies, it's so poignant. Another amazing song, and one of my favourite off the album.
Aquaman? I think that is more resemble to the Lance of Longinus from Evangelion since Babymetal has been known to using references from that film, but it could be from Aquaman too😂
Welcome back to BabyMetal's metalverse 🦊🤘🌐 The Fox Gate has been open... Let the Metal Kingdom come! 🙌 "NotACult" 🦊🤘👑 This is why BabyMetal have no match among any other Japanese artists, top notch worldwide. Many others are finding Game Of Thrones resemblance on this stage setup, it just looks insane. The ten apostles are holding crossiers with "The Other One" logo which is similar to the infinite symbol "OO"♾️ and is the title of this album. The girls are carrying some kind of trident similar to the Spear Of Destiny or Lance Of Longinus from Evangelion anime series, if you know MoaMetal you know you gotta be careful with her. 🔱 Here's some official info about this song: METAL KINGDOM (THRONE) "It is a powerful anthem ushering in the beginning of a new era while also representing the power and courage to step forward into uncharted territory. The track conveys imagery of one rising powerfully from the throne of silence, with a suitable fanfare announcing this new beginning." Ending January at Makuhari Messe, they held two big live shows returning to the stage after almost two years. and by far they met up my expectations with this epic live performance and top notch production. SuMetal and MoaMetal showing why they're a queen and princess deserving their thrones. Those freaking cinematic drone shots make you feel like you're in a movie. There's also a dance choreo version performed first outside of Japan during this recent World Tour and some fans witnessed this even more gorgeous performance, later they did it in their own country at an exclusive show only for fans. There is a live proshot version but with studio album sound in the official channel, we already got a live sound version with the WOWOW broadcast and the released DVD/BD version of BM Begins TOO live at PIA Arena MM 2023 in Yokohama now with the three girls together on stage, which is the version you just saw. We got so many big news and announcements back then, a new official member was announced to come next live shows in April 1st (Fox Day) when returning once again with another headlining shows at PIA ARENA MM Yokohama, if you don't know MomoMetal was the one blessed by the Fox God as a new official member. Also they performed with a new BM mirror unit coming from another world of this metalverse, they got new songs exclusive for them and already did a series of live concerts. Next suggestion: - METALI!! or メタり!!feat. Tom Morello official MV. Btw don't worry if this reaction won't get too much traffic bc everyone is watching the new collab song along with Electric Callboy, so highly suggest to check it out asap while is hot. Thanks for sharing this and don't forget to put your kitsune up!🦊🤘👑
This is the first track from the last album and in some concerts (like this one) they used it to open the show. This was my least favorite song from the last album(this is not a negative thing since their last album is the one I liked the most), but it's still very enjoyable, it's like an anthem.
fake? it is live. Of course sound in the hall wasnt so ideal, but still not bad. Babymetal ALWAYS sing live since 2013. Its just overproduced for DVD record. But audience in the hall was hearing raw vocals.
@@rexeros8825 Mediocrity has always been loved by the masses. It’s also because I remember the fandom being mostly pedos. But I definitely think the music sucks too; always have.
Its too bad you totally ignored Moa and Momo's vocal contributions to the song. They are both amazing vocalists, but you totally ignored them. Listen to Road Of Resistance or Monochrome. Both are songs from this concert and they are both are epic!

This was Momometals (Momoko Okazki) first show as an official member of Babymetal, so they went all out on the production of this concert

In the lore Su is queen/goddess/messiah of a new metal, bringing the light to the masses through her voice.

They should have named the album Metal Kingdom.
Monochrome at the same concert is epic like this song...
This is a slower, anthemic song that they have used as an opener for a couple shows. This one doesn't really have much choreo, it is more of a ritual.

This was my least favorite song from the last album(this is not a negative thing since their last album is the one I liked the most), but it's still very enjoyable, it's like an anthem.
Baby Metal Has Collaboration with BMTH, LIL UZI, And etc.
I love this track as well, would be my favorite if it wasn't so repetitive Love Su's vocals, her most aggressive vocal performance imo
