I’ve watched a lot of informational truck videos and none help me out in the way yours do and keep me entertained at the same time 😂😂😂Thanks for the help Dan the man. You the man!
Great video teaching the fundamentals Of how to pass the driving test This is what every truck driver should be doing in there every day Driving great job Danny
Thanks Jerome !! Why it seems like only last week we were working together on building your drive up 💪🏻🤪😆😁 great to work with you, excited to hear updates from the road 🙋🏻♂️
I’m currently in PSD in SLC and I believe I’ll begin my road driving tomorrow. I was excited to see that you put this video out. Love your channel and your teaching style. Thank you!
That’s great partner, congrats on joining the team 🙋🏻♂️🥳 well it sounds like this video came out at just the right time to give you some ideas of the process, that’s wonderful 😁 lmk if I can help in any other ways ! Drive safe, smart and confident ✊🏻😎
Thanks for the vidios, you’re definitely the best instructors I’ve visited on RUclips. Obsorbing and practicing them on Ats simulator with a G27 Logitech and Oculus Quest 3 headset.
Thank you so much for the support ! Glad to be helping the cause and it sounds like you have a pretty good setup for taking practice reps at it! When do you plan to start school and where?
@@CDLYeah April 2024, located at Stockton, Ca I believe schools here are picky of who to train on manuals, if to many students. Can’t decide between Western pacific or Trucking 160 for my first school
Great feedback dude, glad it’s been a help 🥳 especially for a driver who’s running the 95 corridor and making frequent stops in New York 😳👋 you’re killing the game big dawg 💪🏻😎
Thanks so much ! I’m so glad that you liked the vid and found it helpful 😁 now if only we could get you to remember to leave your signals on through your lane changes 😆🤷🏻♂️🤪
Thanks so much !! Can’t wait to team up with the Driver Health & Fitness Task Force soon to bring even more valuable information to the great Driver Base of Prime ! 🙌🏼🥳😎
My question is I wanna know how does an examiner talk or give orders at the test?? Will they give clear and understandable orders?? How would they talk to me like, especially when taking skill test?? I think I’ve nailed everything but I’m just worried about how the conversation is worded or how orders are given.
Great question! Wanting to know all the details is a great way to approach the test 🙌🏼 The examiner will give clear and concise detailed requirements for all THREE of the CDL exam sections. If you have any questions ask them, they want you to succeed and there are no dumb questions, and they've heard it all 😅
@@CDLYeah Thank you! I so sincerely appreciate your answer. My test is on Aug.12th. Everyday I wake up in the morning, I keep my eyes closed and I don’t get up. I start going through the truck from manual air brake to in-cab pre-trip to tug test to outside pre-trip, from the hood to tractor throughout the rear door of the trailer, by using the words in the pre-trip book. I still have 2 weeks to prepare but I already feel bored in a way that I probably can do the whole pre-trip inspection backward. Alley dock could be easy or confusing but most likely they’ll test me parallel parking. Road test won’t be 100% perfect but won’t have a major problem. Anyway, thanks again for your help! 🙏
Hey Danny, have a quick question?! Every time i’m doing my reverse offset backing, i’m always doing a double offset until I get my trailer set! After it is, and I get that rear of the trailer on the line, i’m going more towards my blind side and get very close to hitting that passenger side wall! Any tips would help and thank you! Left/Right Left/Right straight back to the corner on the line Right/Left (turn wheel all the way each left/right turn) is how i was taught thanx again man ! 🫵🏻🤙🏻
Well, that was a very thorough explanation 🤓 Sounds like you should start your sight-side push (right/left as you said) a little earlier than the line if you are ending up more center right than center. Hope that helps! 🙌🏼
Great question ! The most common manual currently is a 12 speed with a splitter. In that, it’s best to get into 6th before the turn and to stay in 6th through the turn so that you can keep both hands on the wheel through the turn. Really good question. Are you on a 12 speed with a splitter or a different type of transmission ? 🤔
That’s so awesome 🤩 thank you so much for the support !! Call up a Prime recruiter and tell I’ve sent ya and we’ll get that face time in for surrrrre when you land in SPRIMO 😎🤙🏼
so i took my cdl test last week and passed pre-trip, passed backing with an offset and an alley big yaaayyy but got very nervous because of the turns and bumped a curb so failed driving. if i turn left onto a two lane road from a single turning lane do i turn into the farthest lane and then back into the left lane to finish// or do i turn into the farthest lane and stay in the right lane since we are going to end up in that lane eventually anyways. I retest Wednesday a throughout the whole class i always drove perfectly fine but im a little nervous
I totally understand feeling nervous. It sounds like you’ve got a lot of driving done, so stay confident ✊🏻 that’s a big part. When in that turn stay wide and land in the right lane, anyone turning right from the lane across from you will have a yield to you so you can use both lanes as long as you have your 10 second window 🙌🏼 lmk how Wednesday goes, you got this 😎
@@CDLYeah Thank you sooo much for your tips and being a kind compassionate human being. This morning once again being a little nervous I passed the driving portion and now have my class A cdl. I start working for a regional company in two weeks and then plan on taking the long haul routes around the country once I'm done with my 8 week training. and Im sooooo excited to be a safe, patient, driver for our country. Hope to run into you someday out on the road.😇😇😇😇
Great reminder class professor. It's been a minute since you put me on the road. Complacency is the drivers worst enemy. This video brings that back to the forfront. Can't wait for the next class. A milestone is quickly approaching. Making a 1000 sub climb. Keep it up in time you'll celebrate crossing the 100000 line.
I know dude, I’m so excited to be closing in on 1,000 🥳🙋🏻♂️ I’m especially glad that this content is being well received, it means a great deal to me to help streamline people’s learning 🙏🏻📚 annnddd I really value your feedback AND I am glad this still feels helpful !! Woot woot !!
Great question, every situation is unique, best to ask your instructor for the best practices for that specific situation. I can tell you this, staying wide with an ample window of time and space is always a smart choice.
I have a question, so I just completed my eldt behind the wheel three days ago and have my final test this Thursday. On the route I'll be driving there is a very complicated intersection that's basically the shape of a Y with an extra road attached into it in a residential neighborhood not meant for a 53ft trailer nor a extended hood freightliner. The only way to make this turn in this intersection is to either hit the curb with the trailer or back the tractor up a few feet once I get out into the intersection so I don't drive the truck on the sidewalk. I know both backing up and hitting a curb is an auto fail so Question is will/can my instructor be lenient due to the circumstances of the length of the truck/trailer and the total size of the intersection? Thank you for all the help
You say that in a right turn with two right turn lanes you should be in left most right turn lane to complete your turn. i understand this to not hit the curb with your trailer but arnt you going to hit all the cars that are making their right turn in the right most right turn lane?
Really great question 🙌🏼 Every turn has different circumstances obviously, our goal is the make certain not to “off track” into anything. By timing the turn, watching your convex mirror closely for your trailer’s lateral movement and staying wide through your turn you should be able to navigate all obstacles present. Some double turn lanes have off tracking space built in, which can be recognized by diagonally painted lines, in which case staying in the right lane is best. Monitor and adjust as you approach, stay alert for the signage/circumstances and don’t take anything for granted 👍🏻 you got this, really great question 🙏🏻
Quick question, do I have to make a quick stop and check both sides if I see a rail road crossing ahead? Just wondering because in the permit test it says that you can get your license suspended for at least 1 year if you don’t stop before a R/R Crossing to check. Also I’ve seen some busses stop before to check as well.
Great question. Certain vehicles need to stop. Hazmat, School bus, flammable placard, etc… some choose to. On your CDL test you need to look both ways for a train, listen for a train and if you don’t see/hear anything and the lights are not flashing you can proceed at the speed of traffic, you do not need to stop, you can do all that while continuing with the flow of traffic. 👍🏻
@@CDLYeah thank you so much for replying! I have my permit right now and I already enrolled into a trucking school to get my cdl class A license by December hopefully but your answer will help me a lot when I do the road test! Thank you!
Some CDL schools will sponsor foreign drivers who can come to the US I’ve heard, but I’m not sure which. I’d try contacting recruiters at training programs for more info there 👍🏻
Fantastic question 🙌🏼😁 Here is where you’d want to monitor and adjust to what you are seeing. If it is apparent they intend to roll through you can adjust your speed down to create a window. Each scenario is unique, so it’s to simply, monitor and adjust 🤓🙏🏻
My cdl trainer,if you follow what he said, you pass your test at first try!!! # trifectamode!!

What is a safe gear to be in while making that left turn so you don’t impede traffic and or stall out ?

For me it's an Eaton Fuller 10 speed, 5th seems to be the best gear for a tighter turn in the city.
