To everyone watching this... your new bread machines will last longer if you take your pan out of the machine first, and assemble your ingredients, and then reinsert your pan when done filling it. Ingredients spilling down into the pan well does encourage rusting and corrosion, and diminishes the life of the well finish and heating element. And in some areas of the country/world, encourages insects. So my advice is to take the pan out to fill it with your ingredients. After all, it only takes a couple more seconds. I like this machine. I have a Cuisinart CBK-200, but I'd rather have this one. Nice video, Mark. Thank you.
My daughter got this for me Christmas 2020. I wanted to watch a unboxing & cooking. I'm thinking about doing an unboxing as well. Tks for sharing how to make bread the easy way! This tutorial inspired me.
Thank you for this honest video of this machine. It looks like a perfect loaf of bread, however, today during the COVID-19 Pandemic this same bread machine is on backorder/out of stock. The price ranges from $109.00 - 230.00 dollars you got a great deal !!!! Thank you again will look for more of your videos.
Gail CARSTEN I ended up canceling my Williams Sonoma order when King Arthur got the Zojirushi back in stock. I’m loving it and I hope you enjoy yours too.
Wanda Kay I forgot I had this machine. I know that’s crazy but I had a different bread machine and I lost the bread knead paddle so I bought a new one. Then my husband and I separated and I moved. I completely forgot I purchased it. So I ordered a zojirushi from King Arthur. Now I have two machines. Crazy.
I have the older model Cuisinart bread maker for about 5 years or so, and it always makes good bread. I have a lot of Cuisinart appliances and I recommend them.
You need to scrape the edges if you notice when kneading that there are dried flour areas not being picked up off the bowl. Just an fyi. Also, put it on a wire wrack and let cool before slicing bread. It doesn’t have to cool completely but let it cool at least 10 minutes or so. I wait 30 and I also don’t use the bread making yeast. I can use regular rapid rise yeast to cut the time down but only on breads up to 1 1/2 loaves. If you have ever made bread by hand or even with a kitchen aid, it allows you a bit more knowledge. I think you did an awesome job!!!!
I just bought 1,,the hook is for removing the paddle from the loaf,,but yeah it works for the hot handle too,,,u could probably download the manual from cuisenart,
My first 1 lb loaf today - dense and the crust was hard on the sides and bottom. I later learned that I should sift the flour and keep salt and yeast separated. Also, helpful to make a “crater” in the flour and put the yeast right in the center. I’ll try again tomorrow because I’m desperate to get this right!
Thanks so much for taking the time to make this video! I takes some of the apprehension out of making the first loaf. Best wishes to you and your family:)
Thank you. I hope all is well with you and yours as well. Good luck with your bread maker. Gave one to my son for Christmas and I think he uses his more than I use mine.
One thing I've learned is don't scoop the flour out of the bag. Pour the flour into the cup. If you scoop from the bag you compact the flour and it throws off your measurement. When I pour from the bag I have a bowl underneath to catch the flour that misses the cup.
Yes. I did a test. I first scooped right out of the bag the amount it called for into a bowl. Then I measured out with a spoon into a measuring cup and when I was done, I actually had almost a full 1/3 cup still left in the bowl! I couldn't believe it, but it's true. Measure it out loosely, don't scoop it.
I sort of cringed when I saw that. I am looking forward to buying this machine, although I has doubled in price over the four year since this video was made.
I just received this bread maker. Love the size. I did a 1 lb loaf and the machine was vibrating when kneading. I can’t imagine doing a 2lb loaf. I have 2 other machines, one a Cuisinart and neither vibrate.
I never let the bread machine bake the loaf, I just select the dough cycle then I take the dough out & form it & put it in greased glass bread pan & put it in the oven under the oven light for 40-50 minutes. Bake @ 350 F for 35-40 minutes until golden brown. Perfect bread...
Scooping flour out of the bag or container isn’t a good idea. It compacts and throws off your measurements. Better to spoon it into a cup measure. I would use liquid milk and skip the water and dry milk powder. That’s a pretty small loaf and I would like a darker crust.
Just tried my white Bread for the first time. So I followed the directions exactly and the dough rose up perfectly fine then collapsed into a crater. I did use bread machine instant rise yeast. I don’t know if that makes a difference versus the packaged yeast. Any reason why it would have collapsed?
I've had that happen when there's too much yeast. I use the fleischmann's that comes in the glass jar and you have to refrigerate. I've gotten very consistent loaves of bread using it.
If you'd like to take out the knead paddle to avoid the indent in the bottom of your bread, then you'd need to intervene, but the bread will bake completely fine with a set and forget
I use the tool that came with the bread maker to remove the dough hook. Warm fresh bread! I've never waited and don't ever see me waiting till it's cool.
Yeah you can do baguettes. It's a dough recipe. So the machine mixes and rises the dough a couple of times then you take it out and there's a couple of more rises. To make a better baguette double or triple those rise times. This helps the dough get the air bubbles it needs to be like a real baguette. There's other recipes that only mix the dough. It does a pretty good pizza dough too.
Came to find out if mine was a dud. This machine is noisier than I anticipated. But thanks for addressing it when mentioning you've had noisier. I wonder if there are any quiet machines. Also, I had no idea it took do long to make bread. Currently trying my first loaf, french bread. And it's going to take 4 hours. Is that normal for all bread machines?
Look at it this way takes about 5 minutes to put in the ingredients you turn it on walk away and in four hours you got bread. It's got a built in mixer it's going to make some noise.
If you started the machine first and then tried to change the darkness you can't. You have to change the darkness setting before you start. If that's not it then you'll have to send it back and try another one.
10:00 Never cut the bread until after it cools down a bit. You're going to gooey slices of bread on your knife that hasn't had a chance to firm up yet. Use a chopping board too. Those kitchen towels washed with fabric softener are also going to permeate into your bread, so please be careful.
My god really? Coming on here telling someone what to do and I don't even use fabric softener. You know what assuming makes you. The gall of some people.
Just follow the directions and you'll be fine. I've found over the first year ownership that all purpose unbleached flour makes better less dense loaves than bread flour.
I would buy one just no room on my counter for it, i have large double basket Ninja air fryer also Ninja indoor Grill , microwave , Coffee machine to f*n crowded
Got this for Christmas and made the same French loaf as video - 3 times, each time it did not rise. Tried yeast from a jar, rapid rise from envelope - I know the yeast was good as it worked fine for a no knead loaf I used fresh bread flour and all purpose. .I had a great Panasonic bread machine - always made a great loaf - but unfortunately broke after 10 years. This new Cuisinart is so disappointing It's a good looking machine but all I am getting is bird food Anyone else having this problem?
It's not a French loaf just plain white bread in the video. I've never made a French loaf I have made the baguettes. With the bag at I found you got to let it rise 2 to 3 times as long as in the instructions. All I can say is re-read the instructions double-check make sure you have it on the right settings.

I agreed completely. Unless you need to add later while the machine already started then it is advisable to add ingredients away from the machine.
I’ve actually been researching bread makers lately trying to find a decent one that’s not super expensive. You’re video helped a ton. Thanks, man!❤
You may have just saved Cuisinarts butt. I was about to return then I watched your video and realized what I did wrong. Thank you for this video. 👍🏻

Mark you would think companies and people would be smart enough to use grams (or ounces at least)
Doesn't the recipe book specify the weight of the flour?
@@mm-nk3qe No. Just scoops.

Thanks for a good review. I like the butter you used. Haven't decided on which machine to get yet.
If you dont mind me asking. What brand of flower and yeast you used.
Mark, thank you for your video!!!
Thank you. I appreciate it.
Sir that does look like some good white bread. Good Job
What on earth is that to the right under the couch area with shines eyes?
Bread. Flour. Looks a bit dense as well.
Recommend adding ingredients to pan while outside the maker, which keeps the chamber free of debris.
Also, spoon flour into measuring cup, and level it with a knife! You never scoop flour to measure.
Wow nice , I don't know what I did wrong
Maybe I didn't pres the program right
Thank you, I have to try again
Saw on another video, if you dont take out the paddle. If you let it cool before taking bread out, the paddle comes right out.
What´s wrong with mixing the dough by hand in a bowl first
Thanks for the video. Should have bought it a year ago. November 2020 - it's $80.
On sale for $60 in Best Buy right now

I'll have to give milk a try.
Where do you buy that refrigerated yeast in a jar?
At the grocery store, baking aisle, usually top shelf.
It's not refrigerated till you open it
Also you put 3 cups of Flour when the appliance directions mention that the maximum you can put is 500g of flour
People!! Go to your local thrift store!! They always have them!! Got mine for $10!
Does thrift store means second hand shop?
Out of principle I never buy anything food-related second hand. Even if it's free I'll pass them.

Do you think the machine would work in a cold kitchen (around 35-40° F)? does it heat up during dough rise cycles? Thank you for the video!
Yes it does heat up to rise the dough but I don't know if it's enough to overcome a room that is that cold. Good luck.

Use quick rising if your machine has a code for it
