Great video. Some really good tips. I am a novice woodworker and was wondering if you could do a beginner video on making drawers? Stuff like how to measure the sides, how to install drawer slides, how to measure drawer fronts, etc.
Thanks for the demonstration. One of the first projects I tackled in my new shop was drawers. I struggled trying to figure out how to hold the fronts *exactly* in place; I only wish your vid was available back then. A brad nailer-who'd have thought of it?
I enjoy watching your videos and think you do a great job of just enough explanation without the unnecessary fine details(unless it is needed). I am in the process of rebuilding my shop drawers and I tend to pile stuff in them just to make room, but your thought process of leaving them empty until you have an organization plan is my next approach! Stupid simple but again - smart thought process to adopt!
The block of wood on the drill bit for a depth guage..Genius! One simple thing i learned from this video. Keep up the good work found your channel from bourbon moth my fav
Another great video and explanation on your process. The fasteners you use for the drawer slides are assembly screws, the ASSY is the abbreviation for assembly.
Great video again! Your kitchen build with Bourbon Moth brought your channel to my attention. I really enjoy your professional way of showing and explaining only the relevant activities. Me "old dog" learned some new tricks. And even as a guy with metric DNA, I can see some benefits in the more coarse inch-pattern (although it makes no sense here in Germany with all stock being sold is metric). If you allow - just one question. Especially for shop-drawers I can see no point in adding an additional front to the drawer. It only adds 3/4" thickness which seems to me a waste wood and space. Why not cut the drawer-front to a size that fills the cabinet? IKEA and many kitchen maker are doing this even for kitchen-drawers. Fine tuning the spacing should not be an issue with the type of slides you use (at least the Blum ones, that you used for the kitchen-build, can be adjustet). And for a strong joint between front an sides of the drawer I can think of several connections, that you do not rip out easily. Thanks for the many useful tricks! Cheers Andreas
Great video. I like how you explain things. Quick Q: after your drawer assembly, do you give the edges a 45* chamfer or a small round over with the router?
I love how much you trust your maths skills! You can tell how experienced you are by your work flow and how much you trust your ability! Loving the content 🪚
Take a look at the Infinity 8 1/4” flat bottom grind ( 1/4” dado). I put away my dado set and just use that for 7/8 yrs now? Easy on, easy off. If I hv a set of 1/4” dado and 1/2” dado’s I never change the blade? Two passes 1/2 or tighten for ply ? 3/4” no problem! Leaves a super clean cut and can be sharpened! Cost me $129 . Cost now $129. Plus I but their router bits which I compare the Whiteside bits! I also run their melamine blade in my Kapex ? And it has been great because I don’t know bout you but I ran about 10-15 sheets thru the new Freud Melamine 10” Table saw blade and it’s dull! I use that Birch prefinished for paint grade stuff and it’s nice ? But I sand it once before paint and if I am gluing it ? But I am in no hurry I just ignore the screams of injustice !
Just found your channel and have been binge watching your cabinet making videos. Its nice getting an idea from an actual cabinet maker to make life easier. Wish the plywood prices here up in Canada were as cheap as you say, our 3/4 MDF is $100, so is pre-finished plywood. Have to settle for "shop grade" import crap as a cheaper option. Are you able to recommend the best way to store plywood sheets. I am told laying them flat is the best way to avoid them warping, but I see you have vertical storage.
Oh cool. Thanks for watching. Storing sheet goods flat is probably the better way to however it definitely takes up a bigger footprint. And in my shop space is limited. I’ve stored plywood vertically for years in my first shop too. Never had much of an issue with it.
Thanks for the video! I wanted to construct similar drawers, I was just unsure about if glue sticks well to pre-finished plywood. Have you had any issues with glue not adhering?
@@dennisbuccholz4010 lol. Yeah my last few videos I have been doing no music. Just voiceover and sounds of the shop. Just trying to figure this thing out
Love the way you made the spacer, so simple yet I never thought of it and usually cut it down as I go.
Well done. Simple, inexpensive shop drawers. Love it.
Wooden stop block for drilling is gold! Stupid simple solution again. I keep quoting Good Will Hunting when I watch your videos “My boy wicked smaht!”

I have done it in the past. lol. Loaded them up. Unorganized with the intention of organizing them later. And it never happens lol

Thanks for this. I'm about to build a miter station with lower cabinets like these. Lots of great info here. Thanks again.

Yup. They are awesome!
Thanks for the guide! I’m about to make some drawers for a night stand and will give this a go.
Awesome. These should work great

Really like seeing how a pro does all of this. What size round-over do you use?
Nicely done. I’ve done something similar but fewer drawers. Thanks
Thanks.
Cool. These work out perfect for the shop
What roo glue are you using? Wood, super, or clear? Tried once using titebond and learned really quick about that not doing anything on prefinished!
Chamfer head screws? I prefer panheads in this application.
I know im late to this video but i was always under the assumption that the Assy. screws stood for Assembly screws
great video. what is the little ruler you use? you mentioned it in another video. thanks!

I have a router table setup for drawers. Works good and I don’t need set up tables saw
Nice! That works too

I will definitely check out that dado blade.
I use the prefinished birch for paintgrade too lol. 🤫. It actually paints really well

Nice trick on the back hole. Now I feel dumb for buying the jig 😂
The jig is faster. lol. I just need a new one
Appreciate the information…answers many questions. Would you mind sharing a link to the screws you used for the slides.
Search euro screws.
Got a link for those screws you recommended for the drawer slides? I have crappy wood screws that bum me out every time.
Nice video. Lots of good info. Thanks. How do you determine the height of the drawer slides?
Thanks. I just divided it up by three
Where do you get 5/8” birch plywood. I can’t find it anywhere. I live in Michigan.
Have you considered putting a power feeder on your table saw?
No I haven’t
The Fried Egg golf podcast uses the same music, had my ears confused for a minute, ha. Guessing it's a royalty free song.
Thanks for the video! I wanted to construct similar drawers, I was just unsure about if glue sticks well to pre-finished plywood. Have you had any issues with glue not adhering?
Yeah the regular wood glue doesn’t stick to it. I use Roo glue when glueing the pre finished
Have you used Wurth Pro undermount slides? Are they comparable to Blum?
Haven’t used them
Shop Crocs,I’m guilty.👍🏝️🇨🇦
They are the best!
How did you come with the height of each drawer?
I am interested in the lamello. How do I get ahold of your rep? Is it a better price than buying it from Home Depot?
Are you on Instagram? If so send me a DM over there. If not, shoot me an email. It’s in the description.
@ I sent you an email. I’m glad you had Jason on. It’s how I found the channel…..
@ cool. I’ll send you some info in a little bit. Thanks for watching
what type of drawer slides do you use
@@mikeschachtschneider6272 these are grass undermount slides
Love the content, but you could really use some new background music.
👍
I’m leaning towards the simple, straightforward approach. Music can be quite distracting.
Why glue the drawer bottom thsts totally not necessary
Totally. When you make yours you don’t need to glue them 👍
Gotta loose the music!
