I could listen to Dan talking about Schitt's Creek for hours. Everything he says is so profound and you can tell how much he cares about what he is doing with the show.
Jeff i hear ya. This show is helping me accept my own orientation, and i absolutely cried watching this scene, the first, second and third time.. bee cool duder !
Catherine O'Hara is truly one of the best comic actresses ever. The split second where she puts her hand on David's arm says soooo much. And I love the part before that where she offers to pull the fire alarm for him. It is 100% support and it is exactly the way Moira would do it. I also love when Alexis is singing her song and Moira gives Joselyn a few subtle small kick under the table - you can see it without her needing to say it 'this is bad and it needs to stop but I can't tell her - you do it'.
I wish I knew Dan Levy personally and had him in my life. So intelligent, interesting, kind, creative, funny, and sexy, having him as a dear friend would truly be a wonderful thing.
I’ve never really paid attention to that song until now and it’s been around for years. The lyrics really are beautiful and I’m so glad that Dan picked it and Noah re-arranged it so beautifully. It is now forever on my playlist. Great job guys!!!!
Years ago I used to listen to Tina Turner & loved her music...and now this show brought it all back, but I personally think Noah’s version is almost better than the original! 💕🥰💕
I actually agree but, for me, it’s the trio, Open Mic, The Barbecue and then Olive Branch are the best three shows written and acted, especially the David and Patrick story lines... Dan and Noah are both exceptional actors and people, that I can think of no one else who could have made this work the way that they did. Anyone else agree?
He clearly doesn't know the strength of his moves, his whole body was invested in that dance, the shoulders, the arms, that low kneeling movement, the almost smashyerfacekiss. He's totally unaware of how powerful he is. So marvellous to hear this. Also ... and maybe it's just me, but the style of this video, from the front table, matching tall side table, the close up on his lovely rumpled tie, collar detail, the open neck shirt reveal, his cuff so long out of his sleeve, the jacket rumple unconcernedly? It's adorably dreamy and now. So now! Love, love, love this video.
David & Patrick falling in love was so beautiful to watch it had me weeping with the gushy love feels. I cried with such happiness for their union & I can't stop replaying it for the beautiful feels. I've been humming Tina Turner ever since. The greatest love story I have ever seen on any series..... it really is simply the best. I WEPT DAMNIT!! Now I utterly adore Daniel & Noah because repeatedly watching that profound connection they developed for one another hits my feels with such delicious warmth. Now when I drink wine I think of those guys every time. Man, they fucking nailed it.
Just finished watching the Olive Branch episode for the first time, and I'm absolutely bawling my eyes out!! It was the most romantic scene I've ever seen on a tv show or movie. Patrick's serenade was incredibly brilliant, I got choked up and felt so happy for David, but the Olive Branch scene was next level. Thank you to the Levys for making this show!!
Dan, to say that I love the scene where your character, David gives an “ olive branch” by lip syncing the words to “Simply The Best” would be an understatement. I cried and it gave me the chills knowing that your character was laying himself bare to get back the man he loves. The rawness of that emotion and the beauty of the words was just too much for my emotions to take...Brava!
Dan didn't realize I guess, but we all knew the dance and lip sync were outside of David's comfort zone (Dan's as well). That's what made it so emotional and touching. It was David showing Patrick the walls that were broken down when Patrick sang to him and being vulnerable.
The reason both those scenes are so powerful is that they remind us of that part of us that is so deeply in love with someone, and how we're seeking so desperately to show them. My wife and I were in tears for both of those scenes. Dan, the show is simply the best.
Dan and Eugene Levy have such beautiful souls. What a lovely relationship they have as father and son, so much that they love working with each other? Bless them
Cry like a baby everytime i see that scene. Cry everytime i hear that song. Never really heard the lyrics until i heard it in the show. Love, love, love David and Patrick's story.
The proposal was brilliant because Dan knew the script and knew what was coming and the way he gasps and his voice catches is the FINEST bit of acting.
I’ve been rewatching Schitt’s Creek for the last few weeks, and I had just reached the Open Mic episode either the day of, or the day after Tina Turner‘s death. It really brought the song home to my heart, and made that scene, and subsequently the Olive Branch episode scene, even more beautifully poignant. She was an amazing artist.
One of my favorite scenes EVER! My husband & I watched it when it aired & we were both a mess. I'm a big fan of the song, but what Noah Reed did with the song was sublime. I still watch it & it still makes me emotional.
Moira crying is my favorite Moira moment. It’s a moment that shows she a good mother when it counts and that she does have a deep love and support for her children
PIE cause Dan is very openly gay....so often that makes a woman be like “oh he’s off limits” in their brains cause....he attracted to women soo...I get what she means tbh. And him and Anotoni are they only gay men I feel attracted to. When someone is so smart, handsome and dapper what can ya do 🤷🏻♀️
Knowing how far he has come in his personal growth and their relationship, that he is willing to let go of his insecurities and be vulnerable to show Patrick how he feels...for me, that's why.
This guy is a really gd actor you can see the director speaking now and some David’s moments just when he jokes about ,the voice tone changes to deep and ground while Dan is explaining the scenes of the show etc and it gets higher in tone When David talks
Fun fact - "The Best" was recorded and released by Bonnie Tyler first but her version wasn't a hit. Tina recorded and released her version about a year later and it was the huge success we all know and love. 😍
Ok. Binge watching the entire show again from S1E1 to today and cannot wait for the last season. I’ll be sad to see it end and am supportive to the creators having it end on a high note.
Yes yes yes!!! I was crying tears of not just happiness but I was so very touched to see David doing this for Patrick! I had both a lump in my throat and a smile on my face while tears were running down my cheeks! I have never ever been so moved in any way at all by a scene in any media, TV, movie or otherwise. This was such a brilliant wonderful piece of writing and pure art. Thank you so much for your beautiful creations on this show! The scene with Patrick singing was very touching and beautiful, but I think the one with David was even more so because he was so outside his own comfort zone but with such a wild abandon and at the same time, it was an escalation that did not seem abnormal. So very very well written and perfomed!
As a viewer, I cried more to Dan's simply the best than of Noah's maybe because we could expect Patrick's character to do something so special but not from David's...
I used to want a love like Gomez and Mortisha.. campy, yes but yes he does love her. But being a newly viewer of Schitts Creek.. I want David and Patrick's love everyday of my life. The way they love one another is something truly genuine and truly earned for!!!! #David& Patrick4Ever... I truly love this relationship and this show. Congratulations on making true gold.
When David lip sync's to Patrick and does his little dance was so darn sexy, even to this straight 60 yr old lady. He had me in tears. The first time I saw that scene, I rewound it three times!
I also laughed, because it was definitely funny for the character. But I think as a viewer you fully believe how David is feeling and it's so relatable you can't help but relate it to your experiences and feel emotional.
I love this show and Dan Levy, plus the other cast members so much! I became a fan of the show when it was not quite halfway through. I didn’t have Pop tv, so I would have to wait each time for the newest season to come out on Netflix. Then the show got so popular (which I’m happy it did!), and I ended up finding out too many spoilers waiting for Season 5 to air on Netflix...So I actually changed my cable plan and added Pop TV just so I could watch Season 6 as it aired...LOL! 🤪 It’s Simply the Best! 💕 And these are two of my favorite episodes of the show also...😢🥰👏💕
It's a bit funny hearing constantly how they covered Tina Turner's "The Best", when in fact Tina Turner's version of this song was, in fact, a cover. The original was performed by Bonnie Tyler.

Agreed! What are we going to do when it's over???
I'm so sad its ending
Why is it ending?
@@michellehairston8299 idk if it got cancelled but Dan said they were ready to end it
I would love to see just one more special episode
That scene for me, as a gay man who has battled homophobia for three decades, was SIMPLY THE BEST.
❤️🙏🏽🌈
Jeff xo
💙❤️💜
Jeff i hear ya. This show is helping me accept my own orientation, and i absolutely cried watching this scene, the first, second and third time..
bee cool duder !
You’re lucky it was only three decades
I’m glad they showed Moria crying. It makes the scene more raw and real. She’s so happy for her baby boy. The cover of the song is amazing.
Sarah Wolard - Her bay-bay boy
D Wright Lmao yess bay-bay
bébé boi
Sarah Wolard omg yes!! I was thinking that too!!!
Sarah Wolard yes. Catherine O’Hara really cried during the filming. She told them to leave it in
David's lipsync is both hilarious and touching. That's why it's so brilliant.
I both laughed AND cried.
It was perfection, I fell in love with them after seeing those two scenes!

One small positive of the lockdown, was many many people discovering Schitts creek..including ME.
agreed! ive fallen in love with this show!
And me 🙋♂️ now it's one of my favorite shows
Definitely me
I love it so much...Simply the Best😍
Same!
Me too, right now
I wish I knew Dan Levy personally and had him in my life. So intelligent, interesting, kind, creative, funny, and sexy, having him as a dear friend would truly be a wonderful thing.

@@darrenwilson3800 definitely their entire storyline was so wholesome and beautiful, I find myself going back to their scenes the most!
Season 2 finale was unbelievable
For me the incident was just. So good.

My favorite scene of the show. I often go back and watch it and it gets me every time. Dan Levy is so talented. 💓
He is, but what about Noah Reid?? :)
@@junbh2 Super talented. They work together so well.
Pretty sure I've watched it enough I'm on some kind of watch list. Almost stalker like...which I'm not but I want this kind of love for EVERYONE
Ive watched that scene at least 10 times!!! Dan Levy is amazing!!! and he and Noah Reid have great chemistry
David dancing to the song for Patrick is one of the best television moments ever.
This show is so underrated, it's so well written, directed and acted. Such a beautiful show if only kore people were like this. I love you Dan!
Well it did win a bunch of Emmys, all totally deserved!
Two of my favorite scenes of the series. And the proposal. All brilliantly acted.
The proposal was such a good scene....I'm so sad this show is ending
Glamp63 i also liked the scene when Johnny and Patrick had “the talk”. Short, touching scene.
The proposal was brilliant because Dan knew the script and knew what was coming and the way he gasps and his voice catches is the FINEST bit of acting.

Noah’s version is our wedding song for this upcoming year 😫😍 We both got goosebumps when we saw it and this is our favorite show. So honored!

Schitt's Creek has become my favorite series ever. I love all the characters and watched Simply the Best over and over. Amazing!
One of the sexiest men on earth

Both of these scenes were wonderful but David lip syncing honestly brought me to happy tears, and I have no idea why, just as dan was articulating.

Why do we need background music for an interview? SMH. 🤬
Omg yes. The absolute gall of the editing team to play music and inane sound effects over their guest. Unbelievably bad journalism.
I TOTALLY s obbed at both versions of this song!! Can't say enough about how wonderful this cast and show are and I am completely OBSESSED!

Best episode EVER. I love Dan Levy...
An epic moment in the show, in television, and a great reboot for the song. I can't stop watching it.

I just love learning about all the nuanced thinking that goes into every scene. A truly thoughtful series.

‘Simply the Best’ is now my ringtone!!!!!!! Seeing these two episodes changed that song for me!
two of the most memorable scenes of the show by far

So happy this show brought new fans for Tina Turner's music❤️
what made people cry during Davids lipsink scene that was initially meant to be funny, was the vulnerability of the gesture. He hated being the spectacle yet he did it anyway, to show how much he loved Patrick. it was literally one of the best scenes of the show.
How can we start a movement for having videos with the distracting background music optional? Better for the hearing impaired.
The lip sync scene was touching because its beautiful to see someone be so vulnerable - I didnt sob though.
My absolute favorite moments in the show!!
well said, David! Noah's cover for Tina Turner's "The Best" was both sweet and dark!
Thank you so much for this, utterly brilliant xx
Whoever puts these videos together, they're great to see. PLEASE do not use the background "music." Completely unnecessary and distracting.
What interview? I was waiting for the drop on that sick 8 minute track.
LOL!
