  • See also ‪@michaelcharliedelta‬ . Section 3 south from Alcova to Elk Mountain. I have two DR650 crashes: one on beebee gravel and another in deep powder. Case Saver saves my engine and knee armor saves my knee. Mosko Moto Woodsman pants and luggage take a licking.
Night catches us as we look OFF TRACK for a wild camp spot recommended by a kind stranger who fed us. All part of my 3,500 mile, dual sport ride through the west series - How The West Was Run

That moon dust in the Shirley Mts, got me, my Africa Twin and most of a group of KTM riders that were behind us. It was unexpected, glad you didn’t get hurt. Your videos are bringing back memories of last fall.

It's so interesting that I forget everything that's going on around me. Thank you so much.

Another fantastic episode!! I look forward to seeing your adventures every week. Ken and his wife in Elk Mnt epitomize the amazing people I always meet when I get out on trips. You find friendly and kind folks everywhere if you are friendly and kind too. Cheers!

Another great episode JR! It is amazing the people you meet along the way when in the back county. Glad you were ok after the tumbles. I had the same thing happen and my case saver came off also. Some of the trail looked really challenging for sure. Great thing about these trips is it gets you down to simple (water, food, shelter and scenery).

Hiya from the Winelands, Western Cape Province, South Africa 🇿🇦 I’ve been following your channel for a while now and man, it looks like you’re having a blast in your retirement years! I can tell you this much, I’d be on my old XT500 with a desert tank rather than my R1200GS doing those backroads, that’s for sure! That sucker weighs a ton…great for touring and smooth graded dirt, but not for that gnarly stuff you’re doing. Keep on riding, it must be great to have your son along too…it’s what keeps us young…take care and ride safe! 👏🏍️🍺💪

WOW! Just an amazing ride and story of the good people still out there across this country. You captured some beautiful video. You got to have the protective gear for the bike and rider. I have been putting off getting the DR case protectors mainly because I never fall🤣😂I better put them on the top of my list. I use the same eye protection with the cheaters built in so I can read the GPS and the phone, I had to chuckle. Thank you for the effort making this. Take care.

JR, great video! I picked up a DR 650 this fall and will also be riding BDR's on it. Curious if you made changes to your suspension?
