Hope you guys enjoyed this video! I have a few quick notes I'd like to add: I talked to the creator of these mods, Reika, after uploading this video. It turns out I was mistaken and there have not been any plans to actually model and put the "Abyssal Terror" leviathan (the one in the Void that grabs the player with its tentacle) in the game so that it actually attacks the player after grabbing them and dragging them down deeper into the Void. However, I may or may not have convinced them to do so, which would be absolutely amazing to see. Additionally, the wreck I showed at 18:51 was actually not added by this mod and exists in vanilla Subnautica. I mistook a simple ease of access command for a command leading to a new wreck lol. Not that game changing, but thought I should let y'all know :)
What's the name of the mod. I know it's made up of multiple mods but it would be easier to find if it had a name as a whole. Also I think it would be cool if the void Leviathan caused the players vision to go all blurry and have a heartbeat sound effect play in the background. This is meant to represent the player going insane and is a nice homage to H.P Lovecraft and Lovecraftian horror which often had showed how some things are so alien that the knowledge of its existence is enough to drive a person insane.
I just wish you didn't have to play legacy to use them. I started in 2.0, and I feel like I'd lose so much. Plus, I can't even find some of the mods like Return of the Ancients. I wish 2.0 hadn't broken the whole modding scene
I always thought that it looked like a mouth, and I would scream so hard I would poop my pants if I got attacked by a blood kelp because since I was a child, I had a big fear of plants!
Someone needs to add the Single Cell Biome to this game. It was a biome that was cut from the original game and it looks really interesting and horrifying.
I really love these mods, not only does it fit the game, but I love the new creatures. I feel like they fit the ecosystem and landscape of the biomes very well.

i love how the mods added cut content like the single cell biome's mechanic of dragging subs down, and plants that react to the player by shrinking and attacking. the devs originally wanted to add this but decided not to, but then the modders come and do it anyways lol
That was part of the inspiration for it. The other, arguably bigger part, was an experience I had in another game back in December: i.imgur.com/gwRq7mD.jpg
@@ReikasMinecraft i only saw it on tiktok but it seemed like a cool concept, basically its texture is completely dark and you cant see it unless its in front of the kelp, and it would only make very quiet but aggressive sounds and attack randomly. idk if it was ever a real concept or not but it seems cool

To expand on this idea, it would be cool if you could feed the plant fish (or youself, I guess) to get it to produce blood oil faster. And I guess thar would mean you can use the oil in the bioreactor?
I think this would work well if it could integrate creatures and assets from the De-Extinction mod (like the Gulper Leviathan instead of a Ghost leviathan)
With the alkali vines I imagine a precursor stash with a tunnel entrance in a similar vain to the huge coral tube in the safe shallows that’s absolutely lined with the stuff. There could be broken precursor structure parts and maybe a reaper skeleton, all revealed fully as the vines shrink away to add a more ominous/ mysterious atmosphere.

a good mod would be one where kharaa actually does kill you, if you don't cure it within a time limit. (for a human, the incubation period is about a fortnight), and the timer starts from the first self-scan that tells you you're infected. for experienced players only. fun fact: Kharaa means 'cursed' in mongolian.
People complain about the void being empty, when that's literally the point The Google definition of void is "a completely empty space." Sorry if you want changes, but then it wouldn't make sense for it to be called the void
Imagine you put down that plankton feeder thing while you are in the grassy plateaus and the next day there are ten Reefback leviathans near your base. 💀
Just had a random video of yours from 3 years back get recommended to me, the one about why life pod floatation devices didn't work. Cool to see you're still making vids and now your voice sounds so different. Good job kid, glad you're still putting effort into the channel.
it'd be nice to have a more in-depth look into what all the different base pieces do. that part of the video left me wanting. never just "presume" that something does something. test. maybe work on that next time. the rest of it was great, though! you've got a real eye for good mods :D
Yeah fair enough, I tried to run through everything quick so the video wasn't way too long. You can always download the mod and check for yourself (if you're on Steam) I suppose. And thank you, glad you enjoyed the rest :)

just saying about currents, they had currents in one of earliest versions of subnautica, tought i have no idea why would they remove it, currents were cool
Now, I've installed these mods and they are all incredibly great. However, the mods *Aqueous Engineering* and *Auroresource* have an optimization bug right now that caps the scanner room's camera drones at 15fps. I've tested removing both mods and the issue fixed. When having only *Aqueous Engineering* installed, the camera drone's fps doubled but was capped to 30fps, and SeaToSea-(the mod that adds progression changes biomes) will no longer load. This is a shame because the *Excsansion* mod makes scanner room camera drones extremely viable.
Just FYI, this was suggested to the UWE dev team back in 2018 when the game launched and mods started appearing in abundance that release year. UWE him-hawed around about how it would be time-consuming and difficult for them to administer an official mod database and just never did it. Every year after release people kept suggesting an official mod database to them, and every year they would respond with - "We'll see...maybe". This was their way of saying No, without telling players they just weren't really interested in having to manage it.
Wish the latest version of subnautica got this mod (list of mods), rolling back is easy but the improvements and bug fixes on the 2.0 update is wayyy to big imo. No clipping through walls or reapers popping out of the ground. And textures loading from far away. Hopefully all d mod devs realize the 2.0 update is superior especially with the large rooms. Game is a lot more immersive with all the bug fixes
AVOID AVOID AVOID this mod! It's still very much in alpha-stage development. The modder is literally changing things every 4-7 days that were previously stable. For example, NOW...to make Plasteel, you need something called Volcanic Traces, BUT...they are NOT IN THE GAME!! Reika is trying to change just about every recipe and it makes the game tedious and annoying. The lag is HORRENDOUS and this mod is NOT optimized AT ALL! The added graphics, assets, and elements will take your 100FPS and slash it to 40-50 FPS, if you're lucky. I ran into ALOT of spots that he modified where I'm dropping below 10 FPS, and this is on a 3080Ti graphics card. Trying to find the added new resources is near impossible. You want abyssoclase? Good luck...the clues that are given on a 3rd-party page are nebulous, and not even a mention in game of WHERE to look for such a thing. Oh, and this mod does NOT play well with other well-established mods. I'm running the Bloop & Blaza mod...one of my bloops has disappeared. When I remove this mod, the Bloop returns. Definitely not ready for primetime consumption by gamers.
Totally agree with you. This mod is NOT ready for fellow Subnauts. You are spot on - the lagginess is *atrocious*! When I hover above the volcanic geysers with the Seamoth in the Safe Shallows, I'm getting 105-115 FPS. Once you install the Geyser Particulate Filter, which seems to just float above the geyser opening, my framerate dropped to 25 FPS. An 80 FPS drop because of an added asset. This is proof positive that this mod has serious optimization problems. The stuttering and micro-stuttering is over-the-top noticeable, which basically is game-breaking for this game and makes it unplayable. Once I uninstalled all 7 of his mods in the mod pack, the stuttering went away. You were right to tell people to avoid this mod.
People *say* the mods work with Nitrox, but I am honestly shocked if it does; I reference *the* player all over the codebase, and wrote everything with the assumption of a single player (for example "despawn when far from player" logic).
I have an idea for a leviathan In the void it would be called a screamer if you look up reaper leviathan and go to pictures you see a very creepy reskin of the reaper leviathan I would call the reskin a screamer it would be bigger than a reaper leviathan and it would be able to grab the cyclops it would be in the void to make it scary it would make horrifying roars and screams so you would know it’s near I think that would add a horrifying play through of this mod
