5 years ago i watched this video and it was an inspiration to me to play cs(especially awping), and now after watching it again.. it still does!! Riot55, i personally think you should play cs again and post more videos! :)
Nice video. You and your team certainly have skills. I've fallen out of cs a bit. I need to get back into playing it again. I wasn't quite to the skill level I see in your videos but I could probably hang in there with you guys.
Thanks for the compliments. I am almost done with my new video, and it's a team video for me and some others on NHB. It's by far my best video, and I'm sure you guys will like it =)
Well I've been playing with Slicke, Trance, and Kilrail for like 3 years. It's nice to have Trance and Slicke come in from a few states over and meet up. We've pretty much played together from when we first started playing CS:S if that's what you're talking about
It's going well, yeah. I miss CS though! I want to play again, get me on a team haha. I will try out CS:GO but from what I heard people have mixed emotions about it.
I really hope more big lans come to Indiana! Especially Showdown, it was a lot of fun. NHB is pretty full unfortunately, but let me know if any lans come around.
simple (kinda). huddle up against the little corner in front of the box along the wall, then you have to aim your crosshair at a certain point. if you look at the lines in the wooden planks that make up the box, bring your crosshair down along the center line in the middle of the box, right where it intersects with the line going left to right. the shot will go to where the CT side awper nearly always is standing. takes practice, but try shooting and seeing where bullet hole is across the map
You can sometimes see enemies on the map if your teammmates spot them, though I honestly never really look at the minimmap. I just use my headphones and really listen for footsteps and clues to where they'll be. Good sound is very important!
A good pair of headphones does wonders. Plus it's at LAN, so no latency at all. Do you think I would be dumb enough to not only hack in the first place, but do it at a major LAN with people standing behind me as I played?
I do use smaller crosshairs, I use cl_crosshairscale 2200 on 1650x1080 res, it's just the movie config I used had default crosshairscale because that's the standard in movie making pretty much.
I recorded with anx's movie config in CS:S into uncompressed .avi. Then I edited it all in Vegas and rendered at the highest quality level. Then I think I used divx converter to get the file size smaller to post on youtube.
Just got to get involved with source community and be on the look out for big lans. Lots of them all over east and west coast all the time, just find a team and sign up basically.
They're all listed in the end when it says "gg to:" I think it was like 2 crappy teams, iue5, 9frame, integrity, emg, crescendo, and someone else. maybe 4sakn
Because not all the people that played at the LAN currently play for NHB in cal. That line-up was kind of a one-time thing, though we still all play together just not on the same cal teams.
Unfortunately there aren't many LAN centers around, we mainly just scrim online all the time. If they do Showdown next year I'm sure we'll all go back to Indy to compete.
We haven't after Showdown, but we'll see what happens if Showdown comes back in the fall. Kilrail and Killhawk are both in my fraternity here at school though, so I see them. And I talk to Slicke and Trance online a lot.
I don't use steam friends =( Any video recording will make your computer lag especially if its older, but did you check the actual video file it records? Did it look okay? Just try typing in "startmovie" and then "endmovie" or something in console and that will record a TON of screenshots (it'll be a really huge file) and then you have to compile that in virtual dub into a .avi video...
I use 2200. Pretty much 3000-5000 is all the same size anyways too. The crosshair here is just the standard crosshair for the game that comes up when I used a movie config to record the video
@iNSP1REEX Caught me =) A lot of the clips didn't have sound when I recorded and I was in a rush to finish this video a few days after the LAN so I had to fill in some of the clips with the gunshot noises over the top. I guess I wasn't paying attention for that one!
We honestly don't play that much anymore. We used to scrim 5-6 times a day back two years or so ago. Now we've just been playing so long together that we know how everyone plays and can't react to it.
Not sure, we've been playing lately for fun a bit more after a 3 month hiatus, but we don't know what we're doing league-wise yet. I'm probably gonna start playing Warhammer Online a lot lol
I'm on vacation for awhile, not much time to get on the internet, but I recommend just messing around with every option you can find and trying to find some tutorials on google, just messing with different things for a while is what got me decent at it.
Do you guys play CAL-M? Or even heard of CAL? =P I have a hard time believing you guys would be able to stop us, we've all been playing a LOT together for like 3 years.
Thanks =) Yeah nothing too awesome in here aside from a clip or two, but like I said it was only from 6 lan matches, not a whole lot of stuff to comprise a 7 minute video out of. Had to have a lot of filler, and also didn't wanna feature one teammate more than the other, etc. etc.
I use 1650 x 1080 resolution so it kind of hurts things a bit, but I'd say anywhere between 50-150. Kind of depends on map and situation. Nothing spectacular, but definitely playable and good. I'm going to be building a monster system soon though I can't wait.
Yeah, I mean sometimes you have to save a round when your team is running low on cash. However most of the time everyone buys deagles. Only time I ever really pull out a pistol when I have a gun is if for some reason I spray all my bullets and need a quick way to finish the guy off.
The team has been around for like 4+ years but I've been playing on it since summer of 05'. I don't know what I told you, I probably rounded up a little bit.
@onethingye most of us haven't played for 5 or 6 months, and beyond that when we did play we never really played in pub servers, only scrim/matches. so it's unlikely to have ran into us in pubs, but who knows. a lot of people use the names we use though
Busy with school =( Kinda starting to fade out on CS:S. I have a lot of clips to record for one more movie I've just been so busy and lazy to record them all.
@iNSP1REEX Basically I don't have time anymore what with a full time job where I have to go to bed early. Plus a lot of my teammates have kind of stopped, so it's hard to be motivated to play without them.
I have Crysis, haven't beaten it since it's not exactly that FUN, it's just pretty to look at lol. About to get a 2nd 8800gts 512 for SLI so maybe I'll beat it once I get that up and running.
Just make sure you're not moving at all when you shoot it, and only do 1-3 round bursts if you can help it. As usual always aim for the head, and if the target is really close pull down and slightly to the left so that the spray hits.
=P It's impossible to compare the frags in this video to other full frag videos with frags from all over the world and with clips from basically any time within the last 4 years. It's hard to get amazing footage with only 6 matches to work with it.
He was at "Showdown LAN" ...I don't think that these people are bad. If you watch some of Riot's later videos you will see that this is just a good team.
Don't worry about getting knifed. Play with headphones (get a good pair) and you'll be able to hear people all over the place. I don't use high sensitivity I think it's at like 1.8 in CS:S I don't remember. But something like that. Don't put it too high or you'll be too twitchy.
Also you don't seem to realize it's not like these are our best shots ever, these are clips out of only SEVEN matches during a LAN. I had to throw in everything I got, even if they weren't great shots. Obviously we're not going to be able to show crazy stuff (though my smoke shot was pretty funny)
aye..i see some of u guys are from bloomington..im from anderson,in ...where u guys play? id like to play some rounds with you guys..im tryin to get better(decent right now)
Well you have to realize that it's sometimes very obvious where the enemies are going to be. When the bomb is planted, and the CT's in the site area dead, the remaining enemies are going to be rotating from mid and the other bombsite, so you can expect them to come certain ways. And again this is all on LAN, so there's absolutely no way anybody was cheating. Once you play for as long as some of us have you just start knowing what enemies are going to do.
I don't know when I'll make a new video, I am verrrry busy with school and other stuff. I play CAL-IM this season for fun, I left CAL-M to have a more relaxed season. And NHB isn't really a pub team, we never pub and pretty much stick to a few guys on the competitive team, not much room for more people unfortunately sorry =(
5 years ago i watched this video and it was an inspiration to me to play cs(especially awping), and now after watching it again.. it still does!! Riot55, i personally think you should play cs again and post more videos! :)
Man, its great to see some real skills in not only gaming, but also editing, and even music! I'd love to see more of you.
Yep, on LAN with admins and spectators standing behind me watching me. You nailed it.
Nice video. You and your team certainly have skills. I've fallen out of cs a bit. I need to get back into playing it again. I wasn't quite to the skill level I see in your videos but I could probably hang in there with you guys.
you guys are the best!
Hope you will create ALOT more!
Can't wait.
Keep up the good work buddy!
i knew these guys were good. never got to actually watch em up until now. these guys are sick
First song is Slam by Pendulum, 2nd song is Painkiller by Pendulum/Freestylers
Your Team Rocks RioT! I love your gameplay because its soo NIIIIIICEEE
Thanks for the compliments. I am almost done with my new video, and it's a team video for me and some others on NHB. It's by far my best video, and I'm sure you guys will like it =)
EMG was a CAL-I team, some of the other people we played were Main, and some of the others were IM/open or pug teams made at the lan.
dude you and your team are amazing!!
i would hate to think how good SK + NiP are!!
Well I've been playing with Slicke, Trance, and Kilrail for like 3 years. It's nice to have Trance and Slicke come in from a few states over and meet up. We've pretty much played together from when we first started playing CS:S if that's what you're talking about
After watching this and your Trance clip of the week, I can see that Trance is pretty good with the AWP. :p
It's going well, yeah. I miss CS though! I want to play again, get me on a team haha. I will try out CS:GO but from what I heard people have mixed emotions about it.
I really hope more big lans come to Indiana! Especially Showdown, it was a lot of fun. NHB is pretty full unfortunately, but let me know if any lans come around.
the first song is "Slam - by Prodigy"

Nice vid ,
Gl in Cal M riot, what other teams did you play in the lan a part from eMg?
Sweet highlights, how did you guys do at Show did you guys do at showdown?
There were all sorts, CAL-O to CAL-I. Pandemic was there, who won CPL that year. And I use Sony Vegas to edit.
It's on the video information on the right.... "Slam" by Pendulum
Riot, how long have you learned to play with the sniper to get a skill like that? It's awesome...
I do use smaller crosshairs, I use cl_crosshairscale 2200 on 1650x1080 res, it's just the movie config I used had default crosshairscale because that's the standard in movie making pretty much.

Dust 2, Nuke, Mill, Strike, Inferno, Train, Season. Those are the standard cal maps mostly.
Unfortunately there aren't many LAN centers around, we mainly just scrim online all the time. If they do Showdown next year I'm sure we'll all go back to Indy to compete.
It's like you are playing against low!
When your m8s are walking behind them, they even don't hear you!
Nice Vid!
Recorded it with a movie config. You could use Fraps, it would get the job done for you.
We haven't after Showdown, but we'll see what happens if Showdown comes back in the fall. Kilrail and Killhawk are both in my fraternity here at school though, so I see them. And I talk to Slicke and Trance online a lot.
It's called "Boomblast" by Freestylers

I used a movie config and used "startmovie" in console, but if you are just beginning use Fraps it's a lot easier.
No it's just the default crosshair size that the movie config I used had on I guess. Most movie configs just leave it on default large.
4.35-5.03 was amazing. love the music too
o k thx do u know when u will make a new video and wat CAL r u??
I use 2200. Pretty much 3000-5000 is all the same size anyways too. The crosshair here is just the standard crosshair for the game that comes up when I used a movie config to record the video

Riot ure amazing man O.o and those other players to. i even cant see some players in ure screen and u shoot them with hs's.
U still play css?
Not sure, we've been playing lately for fun a bit more after a 3 month hiatus, but we don't know what we're doing league-wise yet. I'm probably gonna start playing Warhammer Online a lot lol
I used scale 2200 for awhile, now I use default small. I use 1650 x 1080 resolution as well.
I'm on vacation for awhile, not much time to get on the internet, but I recommend just messing around with every option you can find and trying to find some tutorials on google, just messing with different things for a while is what got me decent at it.
It's Slam and Painkiller by Pendulum
Nostalgic as fuck. This is what made me keep playing css.
Depends on the size of your monitor. I have a 22" widescreen.
OMG How Uber Pro do u have to be to beat your team W0W 5/5 P.S. What is ur sensitivity at and what your crosshair size and colour?
I use 2200, it's just that that crosshair was what the movie config I used to record was on.
damn nice goin guys. how long have u been playing?
Do you guys play CAL-M? Or even heard of CAL? =P I have a hard time believing you guys would be able to stop us, we've all been playing a LOT together for like 3 years.

it also looks like you, nathan, and pat are the main people in your scrim team
i downloaded some skins and then tere were no sound for my ak, i have tryed to download other skins but it still is not working, can someone help me??
Awesome vid man, stars and faved :D
Nobody's claiming to be the best =) Thanks for the compliments though. We are just having fun and playing our best!
my team for esea this season is sick, u should def start playing agian
For the last season, though a bunch of us started playing again lately so we may have a resurgence for next season....
It's called Painkiller... lol. By Pendulum / Freestylers.

It's actually really low now. I used to play with a pretty high sensitivity but now it's on like 1.5 in-game.
I use 2200. The big crosshair just comes from the movie config settings. Anything 4000-9999 is pretty much the same, I like 2200 the best.
The team has been around for like 4+ years but I've been playing on it since summer of 05'. I don't know what I told you, I probably rounded up a little bit.

LMAO, did you see the music vid with that song? (the dancing fat guy).
It's incredibly funny, lol
Slam and then Painkiller by Pendulum
@iNSP1REEX Basically I don't have time anymore what with a full time job where I have to go to bed early. Plus a lot of my teammates have kind of stopped, so it's hard to be motivated to play without them.
Yes I've played CAL-Main, been in CAL since august 2005
@Riot55 when u used to play what cross hair did u use? And mouse? I need a new mouse :P
Had to give everyone some footage, plus everything is taken from 5 or 6 matches at the LAN. So not a whole lot to choose from!
hey riot how u get that little banner to overlap the movie at the bottom, that tells wat player it is ? i really wanna know
Dude, these guys play better than any hacker that I see on any server...
Pro awping, really good. you fellas should play in aus, Competition hitting it up over here.
I have Crysis, haven't beaten it since it's not exactly that FUN, it's just pretty to look at lol. About to get a 2nd 8800gts 512 for SLI so maybe I'll beat it once I get that up and running.

RIOT, YOU SPIN ME BABY RIGHT ROUND.
I have the Deathadder too. What's your sensitivity on css + on razer config ? And your DPI ? thx :)
=P It's impossible to compare the frags in this video to other full frag videos with frags from all over the world and with clips from basically any time within the last 4 years. It's hard to get amazing footage with only 6 matches to work with it.
Yeah most of the teams we played were in CAL. We lost to eMg, which is a CAL-I team.
I don't really ever play in any public servers, just our private for scrims/matches.
He was at "Showdown LAN"
...I don't think that these people are bad. If you watch some of Riot's later videos you will see that this is just a good team.
yo riot when u goanna make new videos??
Riot what you have graphics and crosshair size
Alpha plays, yes. I dunno, I have a bunch of clips written down to record, but it's so much work =(
Don't worry about getting knifed. Play with headphones (get a good pair) and you'll be able to hear people all over the place. I don't use high sensitivity I think it's at like 1.8 in CS:S I don't remember. But something like that. Don't put it too high or you'll be too twitchy.

Slam and Painkiller, both by Pendulum.
Hey riot, I'm from IN and I was wondering if you wanted to lan sometime or if NHB was picking up at all.
Who me? I never said I played source for 6 years. I've played since a little after it was released, I pretty much started in March of 05.
Haha he was like 18 when we went to Showdown. Not quite a kid, but I guess he had a young look to him.
aye..i see some of u guys are from bloomington..im from anderson,in ...where u guys play? id like to play some rounds with you guys..im tryin to get better(decent right now)
