  • Many of us have heard the story of the beautiful and exotic Egyptian Queen, who seduced both the mighty Julius Caesar and the heroic Mark Antony, but how much do we really know about her remarkable life and tragic death? Although she was born in in Egypt, she was not ethnically Egyptian. Her families’ bloodline can be traced to Macedonian Greece and her family had ruled Egypt since the time of Alexander the Great. Her story has been told by both Shakespeare and Hollywood. Her empire included Egypt, Cyprus, and territories in the Middle East. This is a short and simplified story of Cleopatra VII-the last true pharaoh of Egypt.

This is my favorite one. It's also a sad ending for Cleopatra's children. Her eldest son was killed by Octavian and then he captured her other three children and were forced to live as Roman citizens. Anyways keep up the good work

I believe Cleopatra took her own life because she knew she’d be taken back to Rome in chains, then publicly executed, which was common practice then.

Uhmm she wasn't Egyptian she was Phoenician / Greek so you need to stop lying she is not native Egyptian she will never be native Egyptian she is a foreigner she is not a true Egyptian she is not even Egyptian she was in four invader by the plotemic dynasty u are living in fairyland . Egyptians despised that dynasty just like they aspired every other foreign invasion how would you like it if China took over America Even if you were friends with them they like it would still be horrendous right same thing even though Greece and Egypt trade it doesn't mean that they wanted to be taken over by Greece get Grease was truly thankful for all the arts and sciences and maths and astronomy archeology medicine architecture etc that Egypt had gave them then they would have just returned a pharaoh to the throne and left it alone like the Nubians did but no they wanted power they are not Egyptians they will never be Egyptians

Did you actually watch the video? I did not lie. In the very beginning of the video, I did say that she was not ethnically Egyptian and that her bloodline dates back to Greece and that her family had ruled over Egypt for many generations. I am not debating whether what they did was the right thing to do. I am just telling her story based on what historians and scholars have learned about her life.

First, organize your sentence structure. Second, the Egyptians didn’t despise the Ptolemies, they accepted them. Third, Cleopatra wasn’t Phoenician. And Egypt never gave Ancient Greece any of those things you listed. Get an education.
