- This week Kricket Slade and I install the exterior wood skin and cut out the hole for the roof vent. In this video I also address some questions and concerns from last weeks video, as well as add a few tips for the walls. Nice job! Oh yea, go Red Wings!
Thanks for watching!! GO WINGS!
You make it look so much easier than my build 😮.
In all fairness, I have built more than a dozen of them. It gets easier with each build. Thanks for watching! Build on!
I wish I had watched this before my build. I would have done several things differently. 😳😳
The best thing is, you built your own. It seems like everyone builds differently, there really isn't a right or wrong way as long as it's safe and you enjoy your build. Thanks for watching!
Great tips and excellent job on the trailer 😉👍
Thank you and thanks for watching!
Great job
Thanks and thank you for watching!
That's exactly how I did the outside plywood skin. I put rough skin sheets on and trimmed it back with the router.
Easiest way to do it in my opinion. Thanks for watching!
What width/type of staple are you using in the video?
Also is there a name for the utility plywood or is that just what they call it?
They are 3/4" crown staples. It is called utility plywood but is also known as underlayment. It is 1/8" thick. Thanks for watching.
I thought you would have glued all wood surfaces before you put the wooden skin on. Guess not
Every spar and the edges of the walls get glue. The interior and exterior skin is glued with titebond 3
The only skin that doesn't get any glue is the final Filon skin. All the wood skin is glued
What staples are you using to fasten the plywood?is that the same plywood you used on the inside? Thanks for the build series! Very helpful and makes it look super simple.
They are 3/4" inch long crown staples. It is the same plywood I use on the inside, yes. 2.7mm utility plywood. Thanks for watching!!
