    Some interesting 4x4ing there and lovely looking water holes. Your lunch looked pretty yum too😊

    Hey mate, i have a 2003 rav4 (similar to grand vitara with out 4wd gears) i was wanting to know if you have any tracks in mind that are challenging enough for a car like ours (but doable) but also have lines that my mates big 4wd can have enough fun on with more challenging tracks (modded d40 style) Love this channel!!

      Mt Mee is good, there are a few challenging obstacles most far apart. There are a couple wombat holes at the bottom of A Break. A break its self is easy, maybe avoid going down it as low range is pretty important for steep descents. If you find Mt Mee to easy then try the Scenic Rim Adventure Park next. There are tracks that will challenge any 4wd there. My recommendation is to walk anything you are unsure about first.

    What's your thought on bigger tyres?
    I was set to get some 225/75 r16 but now I'm thinking if I should go to 245/75 r16 or somewhere in the middle at 235/75 r16 - not that many tyre options there though just some hankooks and coopers

    • @FrenzyAdventures
      @FrenzyAdventures  3 месяца назад

      Yeah I run a 225/75 r16 on my car, they are Falken Wild Peaks with nearly 60,000kms. They perform really well on and off road, the only thing I would caution is fuel consumption. Though I haven't done any math calculations on it I recon I have lost nearly 100km's of fuel range... only really get 400km's to a tank.

      @@FrenzyAdventures Nice, would you consider going with bigger tyres for the next set or do you think the height increase benefits won't be worth it?

    • @FrenzyAdventures
      @FrenzyAdventures  3 месяца назад

      @@ghp0518 Yeah I don't think it would be worth it. There are a lot of forums where people have put on the next size up though with great success.

    Hey man, I am really enjoying your channel!
    I am looking at buying a grand vitara, would you recommend it?

    • @FrenzyAdventures
      @FrenzyAdventures  2 месяца назад +1

      Depends on what you want to do with it. I have had to many issues myself in the last couple years to recommend it for more challenging 4wding. I will be selling mine sometime this year.

      @FrenzyAdventures I'd be looking at having one to get in and out of fishing spots along the coast. I'd imagine there would be heaps of sand and fire trails.
      Would I be better off looking at something else?
      I don't have heaps of cash, so I want to make the most informed decision I can before I buy.
      So yeah, I would say if anyone knew anything about the GV, it would be you!

    • @FrenzyAdventures
      @FrenzyAdventures  2 месяца назад +1

      @@user-jt6di9vd1b yeah for beach run you probably won't beat it. Traction and ABS goes off in soft sand (which is bad) but apart from that put the tires to 12psi and you will find it very hard to get bogged. I know the feeling of looking for a 4wd on a budget specially if you want something without 400,00kms. The only other car I'd consider is maybe a subaru forester. The Grand Vitara will be more capable though if you choose to do harder tracks. Avoid Ironman Lift Kit as I think that's been half my problem with the Grand Vitara.

    Looking at the comments you say that there have been many issues with your GV. What issues do you have and how much kms has it done?

    • @FrenzyAdventures
      @FrenzyAdventures  2 месяца назад +1

      It has around 220,000 kms. Since I had the car the biggest issue I have had with it has been the strut top mounts going. This has happened three times and on the third the whole strut came out of the tower and bent had to limp 100s of km's on a corrugated road. It probably breaks due to the lift kit, currently the ABS is broken too. Apart from that all the other issues are small but they do add up. The pulley tensioner failed, the belt came off taking out radiator hoses, there is play in the steering rack, exhaust hangs a bit low so I have snapped it in half once 😂. I will say though I do push the car well past its limits.

      @@ethianhuynh4901 hopefully all goes well, at least the traction control being broken makes it drive well on the beach. To be honest though I probably won't have this car for much longer.

      Yeah I am saving for a GU, I much prefer not buying something that old but if the Grand Vitara gives me too many more issues in between time then I might have to.
