I admire your ‘don’t knock it until you try it’ approach - personally I’ll keep my Giulietta going for as long as I can keep it financially viable, then hopefully there will be synthetic fuels available - EV charging is just not practical where I live (no drive, and nearest I can park is too far for a cable).

This car looks so much better than the VW ID4, so is cirtainly the best option. I actually saw on the street and was quite impressed.

As a Canadian, I should add that an additional cost we face is the addition of a 220-240 volt outlet in our garages for charging. Standard household voltage here is 110-120.

This will be interesting content to view. I am also a Driving Instructor. The transition over to the new fuel/fuels whatever that turns out to be in the long run, is really unknown at this point in time, personally I think there will be multiple fuels. Electric is not an option for me as I do not have off street parking outside my house, so charging is an issue. I am an Alfa fan through and through even use a MITO as my tuition car. When I look at SEAT I feel disappointment! Because SEAT is everything that ALFA Romeo should be now. I'm no big fan of the VW dominance but imagine what we would have from Alfa if VW had taken them on instead of FIAT!

@@ItaliaAutos this is my third electric car , coming from unreliable petrol engines cars which were always breaking , they’re a breath of fresh air the first 2 had small batteries so I’m like a hardened EV driver now lol and as such with 58kwh which is nearly double the size of my last EV (Egolf) and feels like a huge luxury, I’ve had a bit more range than the 262miles real world range , last time I charged to 100% I got 320miles on the range guess o meter ! , but of course that’s a prediction but still achieved 267miles with 8% left , don’t get me wrong I know it’s summer come winter and the battery will give 40% less and I’d expect less than 200miles , petrol cars now for me are hobby cars and I still have love for them , but this is my daily driver for everything else

As a side thought, after a long day of instructing and doing around 150km in a few years time when the battery has lost some of its capacity, then getting stuck in a snowstorm on a totally blocked motorway, could be very “interesting”

Hmmmm...it's a strange new (car) world, when the most important thing to consider when looking for a new car is...the number of cup holders, and if it has wireless phone charging?
I remember, that was the only thing that I had on my mind when I bought my first Alfasud.
Most of the "trick" gadgets you have on the new car....laser?, automatic cruise control, lane control..etc etc etc..you will want t turn off after the first week (or less)
But ...maybe you like the car telling you what to do, maybe you like the cruise control adjusting your speed to match and follow the car that you have just caught up to, the beeping when ever you cross a white line, and no doubt after20?_30? years of driving experience, you still find it very difficult to park..even with a camera (you need one of them) or parking sensors (old school?) does it have mirrors?....do people pay for driving lesons in a car that you don't have to drive?...I guess I am missing out!..don't forget to plug it in...every single day......colour is ok....wonder why all electric cars are the same shape as "petrol" cars?

Hi. I have a Skoda Citigo e iv. (VW eUP). Just come up to 2 years old and had its 1st service at a VW garage[to keep up the 3 year warranty] I wondered how they would price up the service as there are no service parts to service on the car…..well VW charge me £180 for the service (the same basic price as a ICE vehicle?) they also charged me £50 for a pollen filter,£130 for an AC service so the total bill came to £350 !! They carried out a free health check on the car also …I think that’s all it really required, they also forgot to reset my service schedule on the dash read out as well as the My Skoda app update so I have got to take it back to them to do this work, I enquired what I actually paid for in the basic service and they said it was to check that the electric cables a routed correctly in the car
I think VW have ripped me off….my son has Tesla and there are no service schedules advised by Tesla for the car…VW also do not supply a service book with their EVs and say it’s all. On line. When I asked where I can find my service schedule on line they told me not to worry as the will give me hard copies of the service they have just carried out!!! So it seems the services are not on line at present. I also enquired about taking out a service plan with them and they said it is not possible to do this yet as VW do not know what to charge for a fixed service schedule for their EVs…but should come in the future
I’ve decided not to use VW service recommendations regarding services from next July when the cars out of warranty with them

Love this new stuff, I can see some die hard petrolheads will cling on till last and tell you it was a bad choice etc. I believe there is place for both technologies now and this might be a stepping stone into something even more interesting in the future as the tech evolves. I like the idea of hydrogen but I understand the infrastructure (storage etc) is simply not there yet plus it needs so much more energy to create the fuel. One thing I would like though is having some actual buttons as in volume control etc as when driving it could be more easy not to take your eyes off the road trying to hit the right spot on the screen.

Car manufacturers are really making in roads against Tesla's ugly offerings. Not convinced by VAG's and other manufacturer's touch screen type buttons as many of these on tablets seem to lose their effectiveness after a few years.

EV’s cause more pollution during there manufacture than most modern petrol cars and the UK does not produce enough electricity to charge everybody’s car. We would need at least 4 new nuclear power stations to cover the requirements.

Troo, while it is true more CO2 is released in the manufacturing of an EV. That is quickly made up by no longer burning Petrol/Diesel. as little as 6 months. and manufacturing is only getting cleaner. The UK produces more than enough electricity, and in fact EV's will play an important part in supporting the grid, and making it more efficient.
EV's are inevitable, Hydrogen will never be a thing in cars.

Looks fantastic but can't stand electric cars.if it had a small turbo engine, it would be brilliant
