    Freezer paper is expensive where I live. Instead, I use plain sticky-tape to tape my piece of fabric along the leading edge of a piece of printer paper. Load as usual, with the fabric on the printing side and then iron the printed fabric with a hot iron (I use baking paper just to be careful) to set the print. I've used this technique to make doll-sized prints including tartans to fit Barbie. It works pretty well for photos too, so long as the original has good resolution.

    • @betrisherninox2865
      @betrisherninox2865 8 месяцев назад

      @@heyuitsme I'm not entirely sure, tbh. I've washed a black and white print successfully, but not colour. I know it's important to iron the fabric on the highest possible heat (without damaging, of course) in order to 'set' the ink. I'll have to do some tests to find out! :)

    printer ink is often sublimation type ink. It works best on synthetic fabrics, and needs to be heat set.

    • @Kimzworld1
      @Kimzworld1 8 месяцев назад +2

      It does not have to be sublimation ink.. I did this 15 years ago without a sublimation printer, All I had was a cheap cannon.. I made bears when my mom died and put a saying on a pillow and the foot of the bear with this technique.

    Comments -
    - great idea
    - Use a light yellow for the fabric so the distinction is clear when printing, what side is what
    - no need to show the full actual ironing and cutting times (boring for viewers). Could start with a larger sheet of FP and use a rotary cutter, might better maintain adherence with the FP.
    - a color clip-art image would better demonstrate what’s possible.
