Played a mistweaver in BFA and switched over to Shammy recently in Shadowlands for the dps. I had previously quit the game in WOTLK and picked it back up in BFA. I'm still learning and getting comfortable playing the shammy. A bit different from monk but I'm really enjoying playing the shammy. Very fun to burn your dps cds on big pulls and be 1st or 2nd on dps. I mainly play my tank, but healing has always been fun. I like playing pivotal roles like tanking and healing. I've watched a lot of your videos, especially during this learning phase playing my shammy healer. Your knowledge and delivery is always impressive. I've learned a great deal from your videos and it shows in game. Greatly appreciate your videos. Please keep making them. Also, I saw a comment down below asking you to make a video on how to dps on healers. That would be great, especially now that we are into 9.2 and maybe some things have changed since the release of this video. Thanks, Growl.
A niche use of Ancestral Protection Totem: you can dub it as a battle res (not counting towards the cap) for Necrolords soulbound with the Bonesmith - placing it while the player is in their 'dying' state will make them reincarnate when it ends. Not really justifying taking it all the time, but if you're short on b-rezzes and have such a player in your group by default, can come in handy.
Great summary. Thanks much. Dabbling in shaman next to my pally main. Biggest thing that helped me with breaking into bigger keys was setting up focus interrupt and focus stun (on pally) Great advice!
Hi Growl, this is friend. love your content and you've been my healing guru since BfA. I was wondering if you could put out a video or series that focuses on maximizing damage output as an M+ healer - it's something I personally struggle with and would love some guidance on, as in 15s I rarely have issue healing but will definitely not produce more than like 1.5k DPS overall on average. I think this type of tip would be super helpful to keep progressing in m+ healing
Growl, I still watch your guides although I know most of the stuff about Resto Shaman. You always contribute one way or another! Thanks for the video. :)
one thing I didn't know (haven't played shaman since classic), is that you can drop multiple totems of the same element (i.e. multiple water totems). blew my mind
I really love your video. I'm a new WoW player and I love resto Shaman, this was really helpful! Can you also make a video (if you haven't already) of the best addons for healers? Thank you!
Should you make the deeptremor on ring ? Now that we need to equip domination gear ? I know domination gear will not work in m+ but the stats on the gems do.
There's a toy called Shadescale that turns everything night time 1hour cd and stays for 1 hour. you'l love it if you don't like the bright light in Shadowland.
I use your UI weak aura, what happened to the little semi circle that sort of counts down when riptide is over? It seems to have disappeared after 9.1, don't see it on your UI either
Just anecdotally, I ran a bunch of lower end mythics that leggo for the first time last night (8-12 range). My rsham is 226 ilvl, and typically put out maybe 1.5k dps overall in a run previously. Last night, I was pushing 3k. On some pulls upwards of 6k. I was topping the meter on huge AoE pulls, straight up beating out two elemental shaman, the pally tank, and a warrior (arms I think). Biggest crit I saw was 34k. In Torghast, even without relevant buffs (early on) I was one-shotting mobs with the discharge (charge to 5/6 pulses on first pack, move to second pack and cast number 6, boom). I can't imagine them not nerfing it. Or rather I can, but it's dumb. Absolutely dumb. I shouldn't be able to put out 3k hps and 5.5k hps at 226 ilvl on a random trash pull, even with cooldowns (and I was doing that without them). I love it, and was laughing myself to tears playing it. Made my wife grumpy though since she's trying to figure out the new boomkin rotation and I was consistently competing with her on the meter while simultaneously healing. We +2ed and +1ed a couple of keys that we might not have timed without that extra DPS (most of the rest of the group were lower-ish ilvl, maybe 205-210).
I don't know if I want to play resto shaman or druid. I main feral and guardian but I want a healer spec and it's between another druid spec or my favorite ranged spec for a healer
Hi growl, Any chance you raid? i need help getting my healing numbers up in raid... i am only doing half the healing of my druid counterpart, and it feels bad...
Hey bud - am I crazy or was there a resto talent added that makes HTT a 60s cd with 100% increased healing, replacing SLT. I could have sword that was in the patch notes
Crit and vers is fine for raid because mana is more of an issue but in m+ your cast times and dps become a bigger factor. crit/vers are still great stats though and with the kyrian vesper leggo+seasonal anima powers im finding i dont need as much haste. I think around 15-20% haste and then vers/crit is ideal but nothing wrong with being over or under.
It'll be solid for healing I think but ideally you want a trinket that will help both your healing and damage. Its definitely worth using if you can snag one of good item level though
The way I see this playing out is that a slightly higher level of mastery than in season 1 may be desired at the higher end keys due to the lack of healing you get in the mikanikos tree which is what you're gonna wanna use for kyrian. Typically the oh shit emergency heals is what will get you in dungeons
Chain heal is rarely used, not mana efficient. Like he said, priorize riptide+healing surge+earth shield+cloudburst. Generally speaking, I only cast CH together with spiritwalkers if I have to move and there is incoming mild-moderate group damage. That way I can still group heal and worry more about movement.
now i get home after a long day and i see you have a new video two minutes ago
day instantly get better a lot
"No-one has ever died in a Spirit Link before in the history of WoW" - Grom LOL... Best line of the whole video! Thank you for the awesome summary...
You can actually kill people with spirit link, if you get people with crazy overkill dmg and other player in the link 😂
Yeah, I have an example or two myself
When he said the line I went like, okay let's go check out the comments.
@ ahaha did the same!
I worked 12 hrs straight. More tired than ever. Your video comes out. Better that caffeine and a hug!

Strange that this works but soulstoning someone in forgeborne reveries doesn't.

yesterday the resto druid guide and now resto shaman? thanks man those are my main healers :D

Hello Grom, this is friends
"but race - basically doesn’t matter. play a vulpera. i don’t care" -me, vulpera restoshammy, feeling called out
Me too ;_;
Nope gotta go goblin. Rocket boots and 1% haste
Great video as always Grom was really looking forward to this one
Started playing rsham few days ago and damn it's good and fun to play ! Doing low Keys to train it but i'm enjoying it a lot !
What kind of addons do you use?
Yesss thank you so much! I have been waiting for this😊
I really love your video. I'm a new WoW player and I love resto Shaman, this was really helpful! Can you also make a video (if you haven't already) of the best addons for healers? Thank you!
Are your wa available on your twitch?
Yessss i've been waiting for this ^^
🙏🏻 amen
Thanks Grom, tried resto shaman and all I can say is “LOOK AT THOSE NUMBERS” 😂😎. Great vid as always, many thanks for the additional tips!
Great video! Lots of useful information and tips. Keep up the great work
when did the healer start to have to do dps as well heal.
Fantastic guide as usual, thanks!
hey can you explain how and when to use the kyrian vesper totem? and does totem trigger a charge?
Should you make the deeptremor on ring ? Now that we need to equip domination gear ? I know domination gear will not work in m+ but the stats on the gems do.
What shard set bonus is everyone going for in SoD as shaman? Wowhead suggests unholy but I see some people running frost O.o
There's a toy called Shadescale that turns everything night time 1hour cd and stays for 1 hour. you'l love it if you don't like the bright light in Shadowland.
what quest tracker add on is that?
I use your UI weak aura, what happened to the little semi circle that sort of counts down when riptide is over? It seems to have disappeared after 9.1, don't see it on your UI either
How do you go about doing pvp as a resto shaman compared to pve? If you don’t mind me asking
Too bad, nothing about the damage rotation for single target and aoe. Could you sum it up shortly?
1 target: flame shock, lava burst, lightning bolt
2 target: flame shock, lava burst procs only, chain lightning
3+ target: chain lightning
you switched to kyrians so fast. what can you say about it now? was it the right choice?
Been looking all over for this info before I switch to kyrian, but what kind of dps is expected with the kyrian totem and leggo?
Just anecdotally, I ran a bunch of lower end mythics that leggo for the first time last night (8-12 range). My rsham is 226 ilvl, and typically put out maybe 1.5k dps overall in a run previously. I love this video growl. Thank you so much once again. What are your opinions on the anima powers choices for m+ for healers ?
Girthquake legendary btw. That’s the official name
What's wrong with vulpera ?? ☹
When you go venthyr at the end of season 1 then it is time to go kyrian 🥺
I feel like I run out of mana or have to drink a lot when I only use healing surge. Any tips on that?
Use healing wave
Great info sir
You have elemental gear , u play resto shaman?
Hey bud - am I crazy or was there a resto talent added that makes HTT a 60s cd with 100% increased healing, replacing SLT. I could have sword that was in the patch notes
A similar one was added. Just in PVP section.
Kyrian Vesper Totem just got a 50% damage INCREASE. It's hands down the best M+ covenant now, right?
No, it's now competitive with Venthyr, but more a pain in the ass to use than harvest.
@@td6460 Is this base on specific numbers? As of right now, Kyrian is providing a ton more damage than even a 70 seconds Chain Harvest.
@@td6460 aged badly
@@CrypticElements not at all, meta slaves just can't think and follow blindly. it's how they ruined the game.
@@td6460 I don't know how that's relevant, the kyrian lego provides the most overall damage by a fair margin.
So are you not liking the chain lightning/chain heal leggo, then??? Was going to craft that.
you can have mana issues with that lega, and chain heal is a bad heal spell compared to surge, wave
So haste for healing..seems like icy veins and wowhead say crit and vers for resto. Why all the haste over those two?
Crit and vers is fine for raid because mana is more of an issue but in m+ your cast times and dps become a bigger factor. crit/vers are still great stats though and with the kyrian vesper leggo+seasonal anima powers im finding i dont need as much haste. In BFA I stacked mastery like a mfr because burst damage happened so frequently
I've never been this early before.
I use mouseover kick just as good for me at least.
Ok i see what is kinda strong, but what healer is FUN?
Obviously that's different for everyone, play them all and find out.
Race = Pirate. got it :D
"shadowed Orb of Torment" from the new Raid looks like a good trinket. 270 mastery for 40 seconds sounds really good , no?
It'll be solid for healing I think but ideally you want a trinket that will help both your healing and damage. Its definitely worth using if you can snag one of good item level though
The way I see this playing out is that a slightly higher level of mastery than in season 1 may be desired at the higher end keys due to the lack of healing you get in the mikanikos tree which is what you're gonna wanna use for kyrian. I got a question, is Healing Chain used?? Or is it no worthy for the mana it requieres?
Chain heal is rarely used, not mana efficient. Like he said, priorize riptide+healing surge+earth shield+cloudburst. Generally speaking, I only cast CH together with spiritwalkers if I have to move and there is incoming mild-moderate group damage. That way I can still group heal and worry more about movement.
ironically the pvp trinkets used to hit hard
One important thing about cloudburst - it stores Over healing aswell. Which is crazy.
KYRIAN RSHAM GANG GANG
New leggo Pog (Sadge)
15k crits on a tank? holy priest can do that ez, even without guardian angel (:
Holy doesn’t have anywhere near the utility that shammy does. Holy is a great raid healer, not so much for m+ imo
@@Rasterizing I never said that Holy was better than Shaman in M+
Growl just said in the video that shaman is the only class that can pump out consistently large ST heals like that, and that's just not true
Wish this video went straight to the point . Soulbinds, conduits, important stuff not how a Goblin looks etc
something stupid!
Hi how do you have a health bar in your screen for your earth elemental?
