This has probably been the best break down of monk I’ve seen. My guild has asked me to swap from dk to brM and I literally had no idea what I was doing. And I hate that haha. Mainly I think I have to not worry about my health. Dk tanking is comparatively very different but this has definitely helped to understand what I need to adjust. Seems like BrM is more preemptive dmg reduction vs dk reactive(for the most part) tanking. Monk has always been a grand mystery for me lol never played one till a week ago. I did ww but brew has been this uncatchable unicorn that I now must learn Do you stream as well?
@@paintwhisperer no I don't stream, I'm thinking about starting when Shadowlands properly launches, but we'll see how busy I get lol. For BrM, Honestly my best advice would be grab a Weak Aura import specifically for BrM so you have something a little more obvious to help manage your stagger. In general, you want to Purify when you're in the Yellow. Purifying while in the Green is kind of waste since the damage ticks are so small they can easily be healed by any kind of HoT effect. But yah, if it's something you're still nervous about, maybe try running with a known healer and tell them to just keep a couple HoTs on you and nothing else...so that you can get an idea of where your damage thresh hold is. It's definitely a tank that takes some getting used to because honestly, in lower damage environments like low M+ and heroic dungeons and stuff like that, there's just not gonna be a lot for you to do, lol. You definitely can use Purifying Brew just to like...be pushing a button lol but, unless your healer is kind of a pleb you shouldn't actually *need* too lol. :D

Nice. Edit: for single target, spinning crane kick looks to do more dmg, and give shuffle. Think that makes it better than tiger palms lowering brew CD?
You'll want to use spinning crane kick in aoe situations of course, but the Brew reduction of tiger palm, in addition to it's shuffle mechanics gives it a slight priority. As always, these rotational things will depend on your stats and given stagger level.
