I'm black and I don't see anything wrong with Orania...even us blacks we are divided based on tribes and cultures
We do have different tribes which are divided by provinces but in most of those provinces there are white people living in them but you'll never here the tribe that dominates that province say they should adapt to that certain culture...

White South Africans are not indigenes of South Africa like they are Europe so therefore whether they suceeded in South Africa or not is irrelevant because they are still foreigners in somebody else’s country. Most of their parents or grandparents would have only arrived South Africa from Europe or Australia in the mid 1900s so living in a settlement for a few decades doesn’t mean you’re from there.

Why don’t you show the quality infrastructure, properly maintained, unlike the rest of South Africa. Why is the small town of Orania such a big problem for some?
Honestly, I think the resentment stems from an inferiority complex. The South African government is overly concerned about this peaceful little town that pays taxes and just wants to be left in peace. China, is literally turning South Africa and other parts of Africa into farms to get their resources.

This doesn't only include black people with African origins though. Perhaps places in France (esp. around Paris) or England (esp. around London) come closer due to their elaborate colonial history in Africa.

I dislike the way history went. It's always been groups fighting each other, stealing from one another, invading one another. I guess there must have been a lot of cases where different groups actually treated each other with respect and integrated cultures or shared with consent and respect.

I wasn't even thinking about Orania thus far.
Most/all (not sure?) other South African groups have places where different families of a certain culture live together, where they speak a certain language. I wonder if I could go live there with my white skin.. I'd first have to go there. Then I would notice that to better understand how things are done around there (different lifestyle perhaps, than the city life I am used to) , I would see that learning the language they speak there would be a great help. By doing so , I would be assimilating myself into that culture. I would also see the things I could learn there, that probably would not have been possible in city life.
This is the same as a person who wants to live in Orania. It would be an adjustment for me too as a white skinned person from the city, even though I speak Afrikaans and English! For instance I would sometimes smoke a zol, would they even be cool with that ? Lol.

Orania is not a whites-only town. The South African law allows a group of people to form a settlement if they want to preserve their culture/language. That's why Orania is specifically for people of Dutch origin, called Afrikaans. So even a white South African of British origin can't live there. They speak Afrikaans there, but can speak English too. Non-Afrikaaners are allowed to visit but can't stay.

That would mean you got anywhere from like 6% to 12.5% of his DNA IF you got those super recessive genes. *And did you? I'm guessing you look Sub-Saharan African. I'm guessing you are mostly Sub-Saharan African.
What would his parents say, this great-great-grandfather of yours? Do you look like those parents of Native European heritage? Did you get any of his heritage worth noting at all? What if you went and married someone like yourself of mostly similar heritage, had a son, and that son (your grandson) went and married a nice woman of similar heritage and their son (great-grandson) then went and married someone of similar heritage - and then THEIR son (your great-great-grandson) went and married someone from Vietnam, who then moved to Vietnam, taught their child Vietnamese customs, traditions, holidays - etc. - and then they grew up and married a Vietnamese, etc. -- Now imagine, also, that Vietnamese people have something vastly different about them genetically that Sub-Saharans do from all people - a simian shelf. You could breed together, but your great-great-grandson is extra different from you and your own people. You might care for them, sure. Just my view about Orania. I don't see anything wrong with the concept and ideology the leaders there are imparting to ensure Orania isolates itself from issues and segregation affecting SA today. It's so sad to see poverty and social issues and unemployment is being embedded in society and taking drastic but slowly recovery interventions to combat whatever the aim and goal of creating a better SA guided thru a concept per Orania I am all for that.
