    Hey, i just wanted to ask, would i be able to play basketball/maybe soccer etc with these shoes?

      Hey Farooq, yes you could play basketball in these as they are court shoes! If you are playing soccer on a hard court they would be fine, if on astroturf or grass I would go for a proper soccer shoe for the grip on the sole

    You definitely get one number bigger I'm wearing always 43 on nike shoes I think 9.5 US and it was really too tight uncomfortable at front so I returned them and I got 44 for first time it's perfect you have to look also the black/white gold suede it's absolutely a pleasure for the eyes

      yeah all good for those- i use it for walking and spin bike a lot. For running I'd recommend a different shoe, with more padded soles (these are flat)

      Thanks for watching Paul - Pegasus ones have a more padded sole, alpha is flatter so I'd go Pegasus style for casual or another one

      I have Alpha Trainer 5 and I have also tried Pegasus 39 (Friend's). Lookwise it's definitely Alpha Trainer 5 and comfort wise it's Pegasus 39 without a doubt. Pegasus 39 offers more comfort and responsiveness compared to Alpha Trainer 5. If you have to choose one of these two, I recommend you to go for Pegasus 39.

    hey Dan, hope you are still replying. My shoe size is around 10 in air Jordan 1's and 9.5 in air forces (since they run big). I am planning to buy this on sale, what size should I go?

      Hey Aldrich, thanks for watching - I'm not sure how air jordan 1s come up in sizing but I am a 8.5 in airforce 1s (flat court shoe) and a 9 in these max alphas. Try size 10 and you can exchange them for free on the nike website anyway if it does not fit 💪

    Firstly great review and secondly great content you make, really educating the public.
    I am flat footed, and some shoes hurt, and even though these are lifting shoes, if I get them and put a good insole in, do you think it’ll be good for some running?
    Also it would be great if you did a video on Flat Feet and Comfy shoes(but idk if that’d fit with your fitness content)

      Hey - Thanks very much for watching and your comment. I appreciate it. With an insole I think you should be fine with these for lifting and maybe a short run (under 5km,), but I'd favour a specific running shoe if you have the budget for that. If you want to do both more cost effectively you could look at a flat shoe like Converse or a cheaper non branded version for lifting, and prioritise getting a running shoe

      Hey Nguyen Huang, gym and running on a machine for a short distance (up to 5km) would be good. If you are running longer distance I would recommend a more padded sole shoe 👍

    What do you think about the mc trainer 2? Are those comparable with these?

      Hi Armando, thanks for watching. Nike MC 2 look like they have a bit more of a padded sole, whereas Alpha are flatter. MC better for short runs, Alpha more for gym /court sports. Both would be fine i'm sure

      You could use it for HIIT or a short run (5km) - for a longer run I would recommend a more padded sole - proper running shoe

      hey damien, there is not much padding on the sole like with a normal running trainer but they would be fine for a shorter run. Longer distance you will want a proper running shoe

      Hey Dean, thanks for watching. Some of my clients have Metcons and they are also good for lifting! Both have flat soles and are similar, so I would decide based on your budget and personal preference!

      It is quite a flat sole, won't increase your height massively compared to traditional running trainers

      hi cody- yes you could do short runs in these say 5km or less and plyometrics would be fine too, you would have power through the floor with the stable flat sole- running shoes with bigger sole probably more ideal obviously for runs

The city rep has a bigger padded heel than the alpha trainer 5 or legend essential, if I were you I'd go for alpha /legend if for gym as flatter sole

    You have more chance of me getting a Nobel prize than lifting weights, counter intuitive for me I'm a cyclist. That said i like these and the likes of the superep three.

      Haha -thanks for your comment Stephen. I would disagree on it being counter intuitive though, having stronger legs in particular could complement your cycling. You don't have to do that much either, it could be 1-2 full body workouts per week for 30 mins per session
