- Just getting back into it, I have a feeling this may be a long journey. So I thought I would document it.
Mainly doing it so when the kid gets a bit older I can ride with him wether he skates, boards, scooters or rides.

Just hopped back on the bike for the first time in 4 years at the age of 39. after 3 sessions I am feeling better but far far away from where i was. It's fun to look at it from a different set of eyes. This video was awesome.
Oh the absolute magic of finally nailing down the proper technique. You knew how it was supposed to be done all along and when it finally clicks, you wonder what possibly took you so long to figure it out. That's what is so satisfying about freestyle sports and all creative endeavors. I grew up skateboarding everyday. Eventually that lead to Snowboarding. Possibly my finest hour was the day I learned to beat match on Technic 12's. It alluded me for so long, no matter how hard I tried. Then one day it all clicked. Ten plus years out of that game, and I promise you I'd figure that out within a few minutes. That's just how it goes. Technics, its right in the name. Obviously you are having a blast so no need to tell you to keep at it. Im just glad to have come across this video. 50 years old last month, and I can still skateboard, snowboard and yes, play like a proper vinyl DJ. You are never too old to embrace that which you love. Started back riding at 37 and broke my leg, 5 years ago to the day. Spent the day riding our new skatepark today and regret ever stopping, thanks for the inspiration 🤘
Keep it up, just enjoy yourself, I have slowed down a bit and am trying to get a bit more techy(failing miserably as I have rubbish balance skills) but it’s smaller risk with the fun reward still

Just take your time with it bud! You will enjoy it! I do it mainly in the winter when mtb season is out nowadays and when the kid wants to go to the skatepark! Still love it !
@@littledevilchris666 I take it mainly out to the pump tracks at the moment. Want to learn some park skills. Noticing the bike skills are getting better
31 and just got on my first bmx. I can do a basic jump, drop in and a little bunny hop. Practising manuals hard and hoping to air out soon. Smash it boys.

No problem bud, I’m more mtb’ing at this current moment but……. I have plans to get on the bmx in the very near future! The crossover between mtb and bmx for basic skills such as bike control and jumping isn’t too different. Hope you have fun dude 💪🏻

@@cybyr_ still riding, just more on mtb at moment enjoying dirt, will get the bmx out again soon enough for foam pit sessions when the weather starts getting rubbish soon, I’ve basically set my mtb up as a big version on my bmx 😂 feels the same in the air and my jumping skills have defiantly come on a lot this summer

I’m cooling off on it because my wrists are so weak. I biffed it and my thumb is a little numb still. Being a piano player I have to curate my hobbies, so I guess I’ll stick with skating. The falls are less abrupt, I feel.
Bike crashes happen faster I think. You don’t know they’re coming.

Hey, for the trick ur trying to do at 2:00 try to push your bike into the rail but lean into the drop. So your body will stay above the banking of the quarter but your bike will get pushed onto the rail. Hope it helps!
Mate I'm on the same page, I'm 24 and only just getting back into bmx, I used to ride street and not at the skatepark so it'll actually also be my first time at the local skatepark and I'm hyped, I'm also thinking of upgrading to new bmx but not too sure on that, the one I have has got custom parts on, we'll see I guess, but its great to see others getting into bmx it motivates me to ride even more.
Me too! i just purchased a new bmx and ive been trying to get into it more and more. Im gonna be sad when the snow falls though...

What bike did you get by the way ?
I went with the Fit Series One (LG) 2023 with the sunkist pearl colour - the only thing I would do different is get one with double wall rims.
I live in Canada and I ordered through SOURCE BMX and import charges were roughly $30CAD which was a little surprising @@emanthegman9511

Just bought a rusty bmx to keep up with my kid on the balance bike, and now down the RUclips rabbit hole lol. How long did you ride back in the day? We had no parks where I lived growing up, so all this stuff is new to me - I just loved riding around town.
Nice man!! You’ll have fun with it ! Mine has started loving his bike recently, did same as you he was on a balance bike now he has a mini mtb genuinely think I’ll be able to start taking him on riding weekends in the next year or two. Probably rode bmx back in the day on and off from age 14-19 woulda been longer if I could have afforded one and I had a bike stolen too.

Good progression man 👍. I'm 39 and just started back riding bmx again as my wife wanted us to go for bike rides for 'exercise'. So I dug my 03' T1 barcode out of storage and tell her every bike ride that 'I might as well hit the skatepark being we're riding padt it anyway' lol. But man I know my back and knees are not amused and probably brung back memories by going big like when I was 20 by hucking my heavyweight bike around 😂

@littledevilchris666 I thought about getting bigger bars, but my 5' 2" in frame didn't feel comfortable. But I did get 8" bars which helped as my old bars were 7.5" lol. Yeah I love my barcode,most comfortable frame I ever rode. Although the few kids st my local skatepark like it but complained it's to heavy. They could barely bunny hop it,lol

@@DanielMaquiling never let anyone tell you that you are too old to do somthing. You’ll end up never leaving the house. 😂 plus if you have kids it’s a excellent way to spend time with them and a great excuse to go to new places exploring. Downside is the body cannot take falls as well.

Mate 34 and I’ve just got on a BMX this year, so this is beautiful to watch! currently building a skate ramp in my garden and plan on doing some BMX content for my own channel.

Im 43 and just started riding a year ago

it’s like the minute u stop living is when you are finished
sure at a younger age energy might a bit more potent & flexibility.
Quality of life is a bike.
Idk why I set a bike down, when I found myself on again, it’s been nearly every day since, first thing every morning out.
& I still eat ass
Guys keep riding tell you can't no more im still ringing bmx again the age of 44 well I just got a 24" Sunday model c the only issue I have is where I live there isn't a skate park.
I was in my prime at 35 get riding!

I do bmx but i have a 280$ mongoose rebel x1 and its not the best but it does the job

@@mvseven9438 keep at it! I went to adrenaline alley a few months ago on a Saturday night there was a load of people my age and older, was amazing! Like a blast from the past, some of the tricks that were getting done , just reminded me of the days when my body didn’t used to hurt after a full day on the bike.
Bro i had that exact same dilemma wheh i tried learning how to stall on a pipe with my pegs. Like, i felt i could do it but wheh i got up there i kept backing out like a bitch at the last second. Had a couple beers and just went for it. Fell the first time, nailed it the 2nd time i was so happy bro🤩🤩🤩🤩
