Honestly, I like to imagine he really was saying the microcontroller tasks were "pretty fine". I want everyone to describe my devices as "pretty fine". Better than I usually get.

I would say that today, the best way to tell the difference is the application space that the product is intended to address.
The distinction between microprocessors and microcontrollers are becoming more nuanced as SoCs (from the microprocessor side) and microcontrollers move toward a convergence and many FPGAs (Field Programmable Gate Arrays) are including built in processor cores. There are general-purpose microcontrollers that use ARM Cortex-M and MIPS (and now RISC-V) based cores, can access external memory, have larger ROMs/NVM, and high clock rates. Some of the microcontroller cores have floating point instructions, digital signal processing instructions, and other advanced features that are typical of modern microprocessors. Today, embedded systems designers can use microcontrollers where 10 years ago a microprocessor would have been required. On the other hand, the System on Chip (I know, another video) offerings now provide features previously only available in microcontrollers. More than few offerings combine both types of cores in the same package. The convergence point is System on Chip from both ends.

Once again a fantastically presented and well explained video. It seems that 'these' Indians are fully conversant and well educated enough to teach these concepts bilingually to the viewers of you tube. No wonder Microsoft and other high profile companies employ these computer experts geniuses from India. Keep it up :)
For those persons finding it difficult to understand this intelligent presenter then I suggest you view other non-Indian presentations and keep your comments to your self.

Today's microcontrollers are more powerful (and have more memory) than microprocessor systems had in the past, so the differences, in that regard are really superficial. What is more important is the difference between "bare metal" and operating system based programming.

Thank you for this highly informative video.
I completely understood what you were saying. Some may not have understood you or just make fun or your accent. Do not worry about that, they either do not have the ear to understand your accent or they’re just making fun of you. Regardless it will take time for them to adjust to other accents while you already mastered speaking the English language. I wonder if they’d be able to master your native language.
