So Jaiden accidentally IV trained ZipZapZop to have boosted as hell HP *JUST ENOUGH* to survive. Corn not only watched over ZZZ, Corn watched over the training too
Ivs are genetic and evs are from training. Very easy mistake, just saying.
Iv or individual values are fixed and determine shininess, Evs or effort values are earned by training. But you have the right idea so at least you weren’t an idiot and know the concept.

11:30 i did the damage calc , if mawile is -Sp.Def nature with 0 ivs and the magnemite is +Sp.Atk with 31 ivs it should only do between 34-44.6% so even a high damage roll crit should have only done 90%. it must have used metal sound prior to thundershock and dropped mawiles spdef

I think all npcs have neutral natures and same IVs(which is why they always have hidden power fighting, atelast this was the case in gen 4, think it was 0 IVs but could be wrong)

@@Binks129 As far as I know steel doesn't actually resist Electric. Looking it up as I type this, it resists a lot: Bug, Dark, Dragon, Flying, Ghost, Grass, Ice, Normal, Psychic, Rock and Steel (up until gen 6 where it also begins resisting Fairy and for some reason stops resisting Dark).
Water and Electric are neutral in gen 3. Starting in gen 6, Dark is also neutral, I think.

fun fact: The comic the rules originated from was named "Pokemon: Hard Mode"
The name nuzlocke came from the creator of the series and a recurring nuzleaf (close enough)
The nuzleaf was named John Locke and drawn to look like the real life John Locke, thus Nuzlocke.
So *that's* where it originated from? I never knew why it was called that til now. Thanks 😊

About the Magnemite-Mawile incident: it must've used metal sound before. Normally it's a possible 4HKO, with -2 sp. defense and a crit it's possible if you're very unlucky and if you have a -sp.def nature and 0EVs it's a guaranteed KO.
Plus, the IV could've been like 0.
+ mawile's sp.def is shit
Lvl 15 252+ SpA Magnemite Thunder Shock vs. Lvl 18 0 HP / 0- SpD Mawile on a critical hit: 43-51 (91.4 - 108.5%) -- 50% chance to OHKO
And the Mawile needs a very low SpD IV (I used 0 for the calc) and the opposite for Magnemite's SpA (31 in this calc)

Wolfe, typically in Nuzlockes you are allowed a “hm slave” which remains in your box unless u need to use it for an hm
Well in a Nuzlocke you're allowed to change out the pokemon between your team and the box, so there's no reason why that WOULDN'T be allowed.
I assumed the rule was if you had a water pokemon who was your only one with surf and it died, you were allowed to keep it to traverse the overworld but only if it stays fainted.
Nuzlocke rules vary so much from player to player, but I doubt anyone who got a zigzagoon didn't turn it into an hm tool
What I used:
I only swapped Pokémon if I needed to replace a dead one. I could turn a team member into an HM slave or just teach it to a random one. No keeping an HM slave in the box.
@@klas67memes92 I turned my Mudkip into an HM slave. My reasoning was: "You never know if I get stuck in a situation where I need an HM and nobody is able to get it."
11:00 Magnemite learns Metal Sound lv 1, so the only way it's possible to OHKO with a crit is to use Metal Sound for the Mawile to be at -2 SpD
there are more ways, but they also require high rolls on top of IVs and EVs being screwed up one way or the others. calcs are pretty unreliable because normal game mons don't follow them properly
@@MegamanStarforce2010 True. According to the calcs, there was a 6.3% chance that thundershock killed with a critical hit. HOWEVER, that is ONLY if Mawile had a -SpD nature and 0 SpD EV's, and Magnemite had a +SpA nature with 212 or more EV's. This is something that nobody should have ever even thought of as being a possibility. I was really shocked when I first saw it, and after learning how to calc damage, I'm just speechless that it happened. Quite seriously one of the most unlucky moments I've ever seen in my life.
In short, that OHKO was on another level of BS.
@@rollinroby4920 I thought enemy trainers in vanilla Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald don't get EVs on their pokemon. (IVs and Natures still apply, naturally)
Even with old crits and worst-case-scenario IVs, the base damage range is still too low to OHKO without IVs.

Cannot confirm this but I think the “peeko is a dog” came from one of her earlier vids. Tl:dr she adopted a bird but hyped it up as a dog for a bait-and-switch. Alpha also made the peeko joke but I think it was in reference to this video; again cannot confirm that statement
Alpha does that kind of joke quite a bit, so it might not of been a reference, but you could be right.
I can confirm, that Jaiden made a announcement Video about her new "adopted Dog" and it turned out to be a Bird (Ari) and for several Video she refered to Ari as "her Dog" etc. so I think she meant this.
this makes me want to do a nuzlocke actually. never done one yet
They're really fun and satisfying to complete, but they can also be incredibly frustrating and time consuming/ tedious.

@@joshuastreet8664 Thanks! i usually prefer the kind of challenges that restrict you in other ways, because it can be fun to lose a match while trying your best and come up with new strategies to beat it. But i feel like a nuzlocke might be fun to try too

Just don t a random crit and your main pokemon is gone but overall really satisfying to complete on my 3rd try (not legit because while grinding i lost my scrafty and i was like no im not gonna accept that)
It takes a lot of mental strength to do so, especially if your right hand man or starter dies

Well let me tell you about this Mawile.
"I don't know if the Nuzlocke starts until after you can catch Pokemon."
Yeah, that's something that I see different opinions on. Personally, I have it where fainting=death from the get-go, but the rules around capturing stuff don't kick in until I get Poke Balls.
"What happens if you can't teach a Pokemon the HM you need to continue?"
Again, varies. I've actually seen a Johto run end though due to not having anyone who can surf by the time Olivine rolls around. Because of that, I've always made sure to have the 'In case of emergency' HM user, or a Pokemon that's a dedicated HM Slave.
The Magneton surviving Earthquake moment
Yeah, I know how easily Earthquake can mess up a Magneton. Double weaknesses are no joke.
When it comes to Nuzlocke moments though, you can get some mind-boggling ones. My Snorlax died to a Machop three or four levels lower than it one time in Fire Red. I used Body Slam and got the Paralysis, then Machop used Revenge. It got a Critical Hit as well. If my working out was correct, then taking the base power and adding all the multipliers brought the total to over 1000.
60 x 2 (Revenge's damage boost) x 1.5 (STAB) x 1.5 (Guts) x 2 (Super Effective) x 2 (Crit) = 1080.
Yeah... Snorlax never stood a chance. Awesome way to go though.
There can be a scenario where snorlax can survive, without boosting or dropping any stat in the battlefield

@@jip0611 That move didn't exist back in Gen 3. Only way to survive something that strong would be with Focus Band, because Focus Sash didn't exist either.

The animation is amazing because she is a animator, her youtube videos consits of animations, and i think she called peeko a dog cuz she she introduced her pet bird "ari" as a dog.
28:51 The kick, if it was truly a kick move, would have to have been either Double Kick or Blaze Kick. Blaziken wasn't able to learn High Jump Kick until Gen 5.
So there I was, early again, refreshing Wolfey's channel over and over so I could comment and support my boy early.

Idea for battle wideo: Nuzlocke(take a full team in, for every one that dies, you can’t use anymore, challenge ends when you lose everyone)
The mythical bad jack outlet problem... I've had that one before, and I can confirm, there's no easy searchable solution.
I know the feelz man, been there, done that, eventually bought a different laptop from even the pseudo fix I personally found stopped working...
and that was finding the manual way to switch output from speakers to headphones, it only solved the non-auto detect issue...
it helped, but not for long enough, and was it sooooo tedious.

2. If your hm user gets ko’d you can still use it just not in battle or you can use hms on your other teammates and delete the move for another one(if it’s gen 3)

In the Sun and Moon games you could find Wally, Red, and Blue in the battle tree. Red and Blue are clearly way older than they were in their original games, but Wally was still the exact same age and looked the same as well.
I think that's a matter of when in the in-universe(s) timeline each game takes place, as confirmed by Game Freak. I believe the Alola and Hoenn stories happen roughly concurrently to each other.
I thint most gens actually happened almost side-by-side except for gen 1
@@darkness74185 Gen 2 - 4 takes place about 3 years after gen 1, and then I think gen 5 takes place a further 10 or so years in the future.
Everything after that takes place in a completely seperate timeline so... ???
@@matthewbibby8921 not really. Pokemon is a multiverse and every universe has its own gen 1, gen 2, gen 3 etc.
What I mean by that is that is that in every universe all the events from all the games do take place but they're slightly different or altered from one another.
So in one timeline the events of Red and the events of emerald could take place at the same time, i.e some universe red, blue, Brandon or may could have started their journey at the same time, whereas in other universes the events of Pokemon red could've taken place before the events of emerald.
That's because of his disease. He appears to age slowly. Also, tbe Hoenn region gets a lot of that nice sea air, and those hot springs r nice.
I literally just started binging these two creators like two weeks ago this is truly one of the best things I could have ever been recommended.

with the camerupt and numel thing, i like the headcanon with the gym leaders using gym assigned pokemon since using highleveled pokemon (or evolved pokemon) for trainers ranging kids and teens (maybe even adults in game) was a bit overkill

Wally is actually one of my favorite partner rivals and his character arc is imo one of the best in the series, he starts as some frail kid and you teach him more and more and he becomes a great trainer

Just to point out, Breloom can't learn spore through level up in gen 3. Shroomish has to get to level 54 before evolving to have a Breloom with spore. It is an extremely painful process.
According to PokemonChallenges, a Nuzlocker Pro, ZipZapZop's survival against the Altaria was thanks to killing so many Marill, who give HP EV.

According to the rules, If absolutely needed you can catch an HM slave but only if it is needed to progress and if you don't have any Pokemon that can learn that HM.

So I looked into things, and what most likely happened with chomps is that magnemite used metal sound before thundershock, causing a -2 to sp-def. That explains why it did so much when normally a crit thundershock would deal about half-health

Assuming magnemite has a 31 in its SpA IV and Mawile has 0 HP and SpD IV's and is a -SpD nature, a crit thundershock from a magnemite has a 43.8% chance to ohko
I looked this up yesterday but there was no video, lol this is like a wish come true
