A nice and brilliant English teacher. The key thing he mentioned is to make kids love learning English, not my teacher frightening us to be the poor and low-class without a good English skill.
This is a fabulous talk - I will share it with my colleagues here in Thailand - we are teaching English and it is VERY hard to explain why we say what we say and how. I also want to incorporate more playfulness with language in my teaching . Thank you Hunt!
This bloke is fantastic! :) I play a similar game to his 'only' game, where I place the emphasis on each word in a sentence to change the meaning; amuses me no end in bus stops.
This guy is fun. Very childlike, in a great way, like a cool uncle who always has jokes and cool facts about grammar and english. He makes this discussion about the flaws of grammar pedagogy a fun, accessible thing.
That's interesting, I never really considered the English language as a language of the world. If anything I sort of saw it as a child copying everything it found interesting and taking credit for it.
