When I was a little girl I wanted to go to fantasy island, I thought it was real, my childhood was sad because my parents had me when they were very old and had health issues and to me this show was a way to escape all the sadness.
The Fantasy Island house is at the Los Angeles County Arboretum in Arcadia, California… we go there at t least once a year. Beautiful botanical gardens. Lots of movies filmed there.

Love´s power conquering doubt and fear, and making a way where there seemed to be none. Very nice episode, full of great lessons for life, as always with Mr. Roarke. Things are not what they seem, wonderful things may hide behind silence and appearances. And love is better than passing vanities of the world!

I think this was one of the best televisions shows they aired on television in the 80's. It will go up there with the classics like the Twilight Zone. Now it is 2024 and television has turned to crud. Why? No imagination, not much good acting.
Carolyn Jones looks very odd in a wig. Makes me wonder what different roles she might have played if she hadn't had the same black straight hair so identifiable in other parts. Even with it, Genie looks nothing like her daughter, guess her father must have been blonde. She's so beautiful it's enjoyable to see her in anything.
I think the creator(s) of Mamma Mia liked Fantasy Island, particularly this episode. Interesting that I never see this episode mentioned as inspiration for the story line of the musical. This episode came out in 1982, and Fantasy Island overlapped the ABBA era, so I can see how someone would want to pay homage to the era and those inspirations within.
This is the 14th episode of the fifth season. Likely this was during Hervé Villechaize's, let's say less than professional behavior which is why he didn't appear here and later fired.

No way, I still love the love boat. I cried when I found it when RUclips first started. Hearing the Charlie's Angels music when the scenes change gave me chills. I smiled so hard watching the Brady Bunch do their variety show that my face hurt for the whole week. I love Hart to Hart, Carol Burnette, Bob Newhart, the Jeffersons. I'm trying to decide who was the coolest between Mr Rourke and Steve Mcgarret (from the original Hawaii 5.0). How I miss the 70's/80's. The scene on 44:08 when those demonic people started chanting wish and we will come. Reminds me of that black knight Pepsi commercial.
