- This is another RARE Christmas movie. This is part of a trilogy that is impossible to find. This is the 3rd film of the trilogy. Please see my other videos for the 1st and 2nd.
Peter Falk is featured in the trilogy of Christmas TV movies in which he plays Max, the underestimated angel that works to bring people together for the holiday.
All three movies are uplifting Christmas stories that include the angel Max who usually takes on several guises to provide the main characters the support and encouragement they need to do the right thing. There's usually a touch of magic and the feeling of fate's hand guiding people in the right direction. Falk's Max is eccentric, all-knowing and persistent--not unlike Columbo. It's a real treat to see his familiar face and his way of doing what he does best--in these feel-good holiday stories.
This, the third TV movie, is 2004's When Angels Come to Town which stars Katey Sagal. This story centers on two people in a small town who both need help this Christmas. The angel Max attempts to help each of them but another angel, Jo, played by Sagal, believes that Max's efforts are mistaken.

Back in the 60's, we drove 55 miles to Fort Worth, where my grandmother did photographic portraits & during Christmas my mind drifted away viewing the Christmas store windows. Store Windows & the Wish Book was Christmas for kids back then, the anticipation teased every day until Christmas Morning when wrapping paper was tossed everywhere.
One of the very best Christmas movies.

Yes - and I thought I'd seen everything with Peter Falk in it. Don't know how on earth I missed any of these three movies. Will be on the lookout next Christmas for these. Don't know how and why this turned up today for me to see? Sometimes, things happen when they are supposed to - even 8 years after this original posting and 4 years after yours!

Lovely movie full of heart warming moments and tears. So sad when children are taken from families that really can provide with them specially after a history of 6 failing attempts. Beautify cast. Thank you for a beautiful Christmas story where hearts were opened to giving. 🙏❤

I was initially not planning on telling them how I found their books for that last day. My wife thought I was just really lucky. I thought finding the first book might have been an eerie coincidence. Walking up the way I did finding the second book immediately was just impossible. A new hardback in mint condition. I had never seen a hardback of that book. Both stores only have a few shelves of used books. I ended up telling our 3 grown kids and the pastor at my church and a few friends trusting they would not think it just was not possible. I think of it as supernatural some way. Sure made for fun storytelling with them my last day.

I love that line, ' you can't put a price tag on compassion. the scene which Sally gives the homeless woman clothes made me cry.

This was an excellent movie. I met Peter Falk on an elevator where I worked in Delaware. He went to a smoke shop at a Play House where he was performing. I was going to get a cup of coffee at the smoke shop & he followed me in he was going to get a cigar. The guy went into the back & got Peter Falk the cigar brought it out & he told the guy to put it on his bill at the Hotel where he was staying for the performance. He told the guy to put my coffee on his bill also. I told him No No & he said Yes Yes so we both just smiled. I told him thank you for the coffee & he smiled again. We spoke briefly & he went outside to smoke his cigar & I went back to my office. Sitting down in my chair I’m thinking I didn’t even think to ask for his autograph how dumb was I??? O’Well lost that opportunity but at. Least I got to meet him talk to him & he bought me a cup of coffee. That was great. & a learning experience. 😂😢😮😢😂
Miracles happens everyday in our lives and indeed angles are always around us.... Bud the sad part is that we don't realize it until we felt it from our heart. It was a great movie made me in tears, I loved it.👌👌let's all love one another and make this world a better place. God bless all.!!

Peter Faulk came to visit kids in the hospital, and I happened to be there when I was little, having my tonsils out, and he signed a stuffed animal and gave it to me! I was so young, I didn't know who he was, until my parents showed me a little of a show he was in on tv. This was a very sweet film! ❤

Love this movie..very touching storyline. The actress who played Sally, Tammy Blanchard, sure has a timeless 1940's quality about her looks. She reminds me of 'Dorothy' on the Wizard of Oz!!

When Angels Come To Town and Finding John Christmas are just two of the movies where Peter Falk plays this character. It has been a very long time since they have played on the Hallmark Channels at Christmas. They are some of my favorites that I looked forward to watching that are heartwarming, but greatly missed!

love this movie, had tears in my eyes just having watched it...the parts that got me...Sally's never giving up attitude as well as her hospitality of having to clothe an angel unawares.../the work angels do for us behind the scenes...the father who wanted his son to keep the highly cherished ornament-making family tradition and how Sally and Jimmy will never be separated again...this reminds me that GOD is concerned about us and can help us find fulfilment in Christ even when our dreams are shattered. 'The Beehive' was a shop in my town in the UK that sold everything, clothes, toys downstairs, ornaments, everyone loved 'The Beehive' especially at Christmas time. to a child it was a magical place in the 60's & 70's, a huge wooden golden beehive about 3 feet high hung above the door & even all the door handles were little beehives. but best of all was the compressed air tube system that ran all around the ceilings that carried your payment & change to each counter with a loud banging & rattling accompaniment.
