Molloy alum and coincidentally I was a Sr at Fordham University (the host) so I saw it from right behind the bench as I was the year before when we won the title vs Tolentine.
So many McDonald's all Americans in this game. I count 5. Back when NYC basketball was best in the land! Riverside Church and the Gauchos had teams full of pros!
I have searching for this game since forever. I am also searching for Cardinal Hayes '90 and St. Raymond's '91 championship title game as well. Anyone know where to locate?
I was a sophomore at Molloy and would have done a better job announcing than the guy on the right. He’s reading cue cards and didn’t know anyone playing.
Great game!!! A couple of mistakes not made by Molloy, and they could have pulled this off. Anderson and Sealy special players. Werdann and Autry real good, both should have done better at the college level than they did, especially Autry. Reese had a decent game at best, but may have been slightly overrated.
@@vincentkennedy3487 nearly 10 points 7 rebs. At sju . Not super but not nothing . Great outlet passer. 2nd round pick. All his eggs weren't in one basket.
St Anthony’s (jersey city) was the only team to beat tolentine this year! & tolentine finished number 1 in the nation after the rematch was cancelled because of gunfire in the parking lot..
Thank for posting this game. Literally have been trying to see for 20 years. Does your company have additional CHSAA from the late 80's early 90's that aired on NYC Sports Channel? Thanks
Thank you so much! I was a sophomore sitting in the stands and this (in my opinion) was the golden age of NYC CHSAA hoops. And I have never seen a better high school player in all of my years playing and coaching than Kenny Anderson.
@@coachmitaritonna587 totally agree.. I saw Kenny play a game against Derrick Phelps & Khalid reeves (Christ the king) and he had like 40. Phelps and reeves were also McDonald’s all Americans.
12:04 Love Brian Reese, but a precursor of things to come at UNC, when he missed a dunk against Cincinnati that could have won the game at the end of regulation.
Unfortunately, Kenny drank a lot in the league, you should watch his documentary "Mr. Chibbs" a lot of tragedy in his life he never spoke about, a whole lot....

The best of High School basketball in New York in the eighties
it’s crazy how well played this game was. curran was genius /wizard coach , his match up zones and offensive philosophies were ahead of its time
High school and Big East basketball was so much fun in the northeast, in late 80’s..
It was an exciting time especially the Big East.
This was really high level basketball for two high school teams. Basically the equivalent of what I see from elite college teams today.
exactly
Back when folks actually cared about HS Basketball and NYC Hoops, with a passion. Those were definitely "the days" . . . .
Tollentine was loaded. Malik Sealy, Red Autry and Brian Reese.
So many McDonald's all Americans in this game. I count 5. Back when NYC basketball was best in the land! Riverside Church and the Gauchos had teams full of pros!
Malik Sealy RIP.
Gone 2 soon R.I.P Malik Sealy
Unbelievable post!!! ❤️👍🏽

Brian Reese was balling at North Carolina I think 🤔 they won the ncaa with him George lynch and Eric montross
They did, that was the infamous Chris Webber "time out" championship game.
@babachewywhat are u talking about? They went from 93-2005 without a championship. That would include Rasheed and Jerry time there
@babachewy... They wasn't on tha team into 93/94 unc
DEAN SMITH ONLY WON TWO SHIPS 82-93
Rest Eazy Malik bruh

Without Kenny Anderson tolentine would have smoked them. People don't realize how great Tolentine was
St Anthony’s (jersey city) was the only team to beat tolentine this year! & tolentine finished number 1 in the nation after the rematch was cancelled because of gunfire in the parking lot..
54:23 There is nobody that ever compared Robert Werdann to Kareem
Werdann was a bust at St.John's
UNBELIEVABLE TRUTH
Lol lol
To compare Robert Werdan to Kareem Abdul Jabbar is senseless
I got a good laugh out of that.
@@TommieGun71He suck at St.John's

Unfortunately, this is the only one we have. We specialize in New Jersey HS Basketball, but this gem happened to be mixed in with some NJ tapes.
Awesome!!!
@@thenjbasketballproject7810 Do your company have any games with Tim Thomas from Patterson Catholic High School,Patterson,Nj

Tolentine had a bomb three McDonald's Americans the whole team went D1
But the best High School team ever assembled is Dunbar Poets from Baltimore Md. In addition, the team consisted of all Baltimore natives.
Dunbar had 3 first round picks & 1 second
Sad Tolentine had to closed

Syracuse great, Adrian Autry, quick as a cat. 17:40
God bless Bobby Cremins
Kenny wasn't that athletic in the league!!!

Chris Murphy was the best player of them all
The Murph had graduated but I agree!!!
