@@XurshidDev if you look at the dimensions of the equation, it doesnt make sense anymore. he proves that is has to be without R^2 if you watch the long route
I was confused as well but the second method made it understandable basically he did algebra when converting the net torque into inertia X angular acceleration = T1 - T2
Hi, Thanks for the lesson! I have question, can I try the approach of F = mxa and all the acting forces are mg - Inertia of the pulley. So, mxg - Mr^2/2 = mxa, then solve for acceleration of the system and finally the angular acceleration? Thank you
You can define an arbitrary direction as positive so long as you are consistent with it, similar to how you can set up convenient coordinate axes as you wish
He's dividing by total mass. CM*R² is the formula for the intertia. CM is the total mass of the pulley. The purpose of the constant C is to differentiate between the mass of a solid disk, hoop, or sphere pulley system (1/2 for disk, 1 for hoop, 2/5 for sphere).
In the video at around 13:45, tension is expressed as T1 and T2.... but we had described tension in earlier dynamics problems as being the same in magnitude everywhere along a rope.... is that still true here? Im assuming yes, and then we are just assuming equal in magnitude and opposite in direction? Thank you for clarifying!
because before we assume that the pulley is ideal which means it's massless and frictionless. In this case, the pulley has mass, so we cannot assume tension is the same throughout the rope
i dont understand in seacond question seacond method why t1 act counter clock wise. Does T2 make the whole system act in clockwise direction so T1 must be counter clock wise?
thanks for this video! but I still have something that confuses me, do we not need to put the negative sign for torque even though the pulley is spinning in the clockwise direction?
Why does it happen to be CM in the second math while we were adding all the masses . Because we know what is mass for linear, is the moment of inertia for angular. Shouldn't it be 1/2MR²?
Isn't this system one that's more dynamic? if the wheel has a radius of 2m, has an angular acceleration of 2.45 rad/s^2 and the string with tension is affixed to the rightmost point on the circle, then after that point rotates about 3.14 meters around the circumference (after about 2.5 seconds), wouldn't it be at the bottom? How would we be sure that the block would have that speed after 8 seconds if it could be traveling upwards against the force of gravity? Or is the string disconnected from the wheel immediately after pulling it down?
Stock can drop from top to bottom and still be a 60 bagger. All this in 10y. investing is a very long journey where our temperament gets tested. have to have the capacity to suffer for long periods. have lived through the examples above, naming the stock today is pointless.

Sir you are one among the best teachers ever .
These are so fun to watch when you already took and passed these classes, thisbguybis the best
its true because there is no time limit and worry to pass or fail. now we can just sit back and learn at our own pace and that's why it becomes fun.
This comment right here is salt to my wounds
Why didn't you include R² when dividing the total masses on the second question method one?
same question right here. Maybe he forgot. But in the formula he had R^2, so he had to include, didn't he?

Why isn't the net torque negative since it is rotating in the clockwise direction?
Doesn't matter treat it as absolute as long as its not acting against another opposing forces or torques
he makes it negative at 17:53
You can define an arbitrary direction as positive so long as you are consistent with it, similar to how you can set up convenient coordinate axes as you wish
Bro got the answer 2 years after he had the question 🙂
12:23 Sir you forgot the R²
I think it was intentional but im not sure why
He's dividing by total mass. CM*R² is the formula for the intertia. CM is the total mass of the pulley. The purpose of the constant C is to differentiate between the mass of a solid disk, hoop, or sphere pulley system (1/2 for disk, 1 for hoop, 2/5 for sphere).

because before we assume that the pulley is ideal which means it's massless and frictionless. In this case, the pulley has mass, so we cannot assume tension is the same throughout the rope
The rope is connected to the pulley, so the force is the same on each side of the pulley, but not on one side compared to the other.
i dont understand in seacond question seacond method why t1 act counter clock wise. Does T2 make the whole system act in clockwise direction so T1 must be counter clock wise?
yeah same i want to ask the same question lol
Man you are a genius
at 20:19 why does the m2a becomes positive without transposing it??
ow sorry it he already realized it. Thanks.
We don't include the weight of the disk among the forces acting on it? Along with the tension?
at 20:18 , why does he write m2g+m2a=T2 if m2a is supposed to be negative. Shouldn't it be m2g-m2a ?
never mind he fixed it like 5 seconds later

The torque is going cw so it would be negative for the first problem was that a mistake you made?
THANKS!!
Of course the moments of Inertia for uniform or rigid objects will be given, hallow shapes, Solid sphere etc.
Why you didn't take -ce tork in 1st question though it's clockwise
thanks for this video! but I still have something that confuses me, do we not need to put the negative sign for torque even though the pulley is spinning in the clockwise direction?
if it spins in the clockwise direction, it should be negative, counterclockwise is positive
Yeah same question in my mind in question no. 1
Thank you!!!
doin an advance reading knowing my prof is a comple pyscho giving quizzes almost like a new topic he didnt even discussed
Dude physics is so weird like how can u just simply add a minus sign like ur doin simple algebra wizardry.
it depends on convention, for the blocks positive is going towards acceleration and positive for the rotating disk is counter clock wise.
Why does it happen to be CM in the second math while we were adding all the masses . Because we know what is mass for linear, is the moment of inertia for angular. Shouldn't it be 1/2MR²?
The people are asking for a Physics MCAT video please!!!
Hello sir I'm confused where came 9.8 because in a problem it's not there
9.8 m/s^2 is the acceleration of gravity on earth. It is denoted by g. problems like these are always using earth's gravity so if you see g it is 9.8

I fucking love u man
