    I dont change the oil in my 2015 GT by myself any more. I am 72, and I still remember my Dad changing the oil in our old 1963 Galaxy 500 and putting oil around the seal on the filter just like Bill did. Something I have always done when I got my own cars. Funny how somethings never change

    Tip: leave the plug out, lose the filter towards the end of the drip to minimize oil spill at the filter.

    So, just changed oil on my ‘18 GT. Only mild surprise was the brace over the piece that was suggested to be removed for oil filter access. Closer inspection revealed a hinged flap on the driver’s side of the piece. Remove one 7mm bolt and the flap drops to expose the oil filter.

    For RHD models, hand-access to the filter is blocked from under the car so it's best to access it sideways from the front left wheel well. The wheel needs to come off though, and it's still a ***** to access; hard to loosen/tighten without an oil filter wrench/strap.

      I use the k and n filter with the nut on the end . Then use a cut down 1 inch spanner to undo and tighten

    And, always make sure the old gasket is not stuck on the surface. If you want to find out what happens if you dont, just don't bother checking.

    NOTE : noticed you took off a fram filter bill and didn’t bring that up during the oil change. If you want that coyote to last or any motor for that matter... fram filters are no bueno & pure garbage! Did hear you mention something about a oil cooler? Going to have to look into that for my 2019 mustang GT PP1. Thanks... 👍

    Is there anything that says on the manual cars that after an oil change before start up you have to hold the clutch in and gas at the same time to let the starter die out so you don’t end up with like a stuck lifter or something? To avoid engine ticking ?

    I have a 2023 GT and got it back from its first service with the dipstick measurement 1cm above the second dot. Is this over filled and can this do damage to the engine?
    I think I’ll drop the oil and refill with the correct amount.

    What oil brand would you recommend for the GT350. I use the Motorcraft 5W-50 but I know fords oil isnt the best

    • @mikehughes8023
      @mikehughes8023 2 года назад +3

      It’s ConocoPhillips oil. Ford is just endorsing it and it’s the only one I’ll ever use on my 350.

    • @rod928s4
      @rod928s4 2 года назад +1

      The Ford engineering specification for the oil is in your owners manual. Most varieties of top-quality oil will have "meets Ford specification" on the back. I dont understand the issue with Motorcraft oil if Ford recommends and warranties the engine with it...especially being OEM recommended.

    I currently own a 2020 Mustang GT with the plastic oil pan. I knew it when I bought it, but I'll always view it as a potential ticking problem bomb. I would trade my Mustang in for an Explorer ST, however, those not only have a plastic oil pan, they have those crappy oil canisters where you swap out the filter like in a Jeep. And the filters have 3 O-rings! Come on Ford!

    • @tndude278
