As a preschool teacher this presentation is going to really come in handy. My grandma is a quilter, so Ican get all the fabric I need. I can't wait to try this.
I was given a sewing machine for Christmas and I have just bought all of the materials to make this puppet. Thanks so much for the tutorial and the generous provision of patterns. I will let you know how it goes....

Your tutorial was a great help to make our own puppet music video.
Without knowing how to handle a sewing machine or to create a puppet you was a source of inspiration. We`re not as professional and perfect as you in creating puppets but it was a lot of fun to ever make a puppet.

I go to a small church and for Christmas 2015, I downloaded Plilip's puppet pattern and made 17 puppets. I dressed them in their Sunday best, and we had one great program. So good, in fact, we are doing it again this Easter at church. The puppets are a great success. I am so glad I found your patterns and your easy tutorial in putting them together. Pat

This is exactly why I did it. I could never afford to buy patterns and had to figure it out on my own, so I know what it is like. This one came to me all distorted as a copy of a copy of a copy, etc, in south America. So I remastered it to get it back into a workable pattern, and years later found out who owned the copyright, and was assured they would not mind. So, I believe it is all ok to spread round. It freely came to me, so I freely give it to you.

This is fantastic. I wish I'd seen this before making some of my earliest puppets, but I'm making plans for another that would really benefit from some of these tips. I'd already been thinking that it would really benefit from sewing the mouth and underside altogether, but I can't believe I'd never thought of sewing the elbows. Or filling the skull to prevent indentation.

Thank you very much Philip! Excellent tutorial. I remember waaay back in grade 8 we attempted to make this type of puppet. Our teacher quickly gave up as we had the wrong type of glue. Most disappointing having our creations fall apart before even close to finished. So now all these years later I will finalllly have my puppet! yay!

youre tutorial its amazing im from Mexico and im going to do my first puppet youre pattern its great i do the conversion and i improve some things cause i dont have a sewing machine but i take your basic technics and i try to do my best

An absolutely fabulous job, both with instruction and the final results. Easy to understand, even for someone like me, who doesn't own a sewing machine, and wouldn't know how to operate one if you held a gun to my head (though I'd certainly give it a try in that situation, eh?). Este video se realiso como refuerzo de talleres que hice mucho tiempo atras, o para los quien perdieron el taller por cosas de logistica. Hicimos el titere en vivo en el taller, cada estudiante su propio, pero muchas veces olvidaron, entonces esto era para recordar a los estudiantes el proceso.

Yes, I did my first sock puppet when sesame street came out half way through last century, and my first full muppet puppet in 1983.

Thank you very much. I used this video to make a rabbit puppet. It worked out very well. Your instructions are very clear. Only thing I was not sure of was the foam for inside the arm. I made it 1/2 the width of the cloth piece and it seems fine. Some easy ideas for eyes, nose, mouth would be great. I am not artistic and will need to get better with the face. We used the rabbit puppet for a story yesterday and friends thought I had purchased the puppet. Thanks very much.

Thank you for making a tutorial which shows other methods in how to make puppets! I think your way is less time consuming but also gives another look, which is handy when needing to make a group of pupoets. Keep your tutorials coming. Subscribing. :)

Hi Phillip! Can'take believe the creative guru wrote me back :) I'm in the process of waiting for a particular glue/flexible silicon to start pasting my mould together (the head). I'm aiming at making a group of them for a kid's TV show in Sweden. Your tip on making a sculpture first and designing a pattern from it was SUPER.
