I have a DVD called Aardman Classics which I got for my 18th Birthday in 2008 and I used to watch this over and over again during the summer months inbetween the academic years of my college and uni year because I was just inspired by everything about this film. The Story, The character and animation techniques used. I even watch with auto commentary from Peter Load and David Sproxton to hear about how it was being done. This is a short film to be proud of, it is so brilliant. Well Done Aardman. Make us proud to be British with British Animation like this.😊👍🏆🎉🇬🇧
There was so much on there. I always remember this and the cat that was singing a like jazzy burlesque song. Also with the n-power/British gas adverts which were like creature comforts.
I had a VHS tape recorded off of TV with War Story and Creature comforts and I think also Ident and boy howdy now I feel really old I'm only 25 by the way

If u like Spike and Mike then ofc you’ve seen this - they showcased Aardman, Craig McCracken (who gave us powerpuff girls), Mike Judge (including the first ever Beavis and Butthead short film), some of Tim Burtons early works, etc
Would have been hard to air in the USA... too many dangly bits. Otherwise, I'd have dug this when I was an inquisitive and thoughtful child. Bits and bobs, irrelevant except to show vulnerability.

A vulnerable and scared new human. I think Willy and his friends in the basket are a perfect part of the depiction of the human condition. Too many see bits and bobs as socio-political nonsense. I can't make good sense of this sentiment in this short format, other than to say there is a certain ... well, nakedness. The guy is scared and alone, and without protection. How else could you more effectively portray that condition?
