I really, really love that he offered the refund for the girl who he didn’t have much criticism for. He understands that she sent in money to help herself, but since he couldn’t give much out he offered to have her use that money for another time that could benefit her more.

Thanks for the advice. I will try to relax more when I sing. The thing is I do music theatre and when I’m performing I’m always told to be louder. I guess I need to get that out of my head when I’m not playing a character. I do find that the higher range was very easy for me to reach and I don’t feel any strain so I do think the key is fine for me. I will definitely try singing softer and being more relaxed. Thanks for your advice Tristan! I post covers on my channel. And I believe I’m a baritone. Sometimes I can hit a B4 and a C5. But when I struggle with my vowels, sometimes it’s hard for me to hold a G4. I believe I’m on pitch consistently. But if the backing track is loud I am a little flat. I practice singing one hour and a half each day is that too much. Another thing is that I can’t use my falsetto, and I haven’t been able to since I was 17 years old.
The last girl who sang is sooo incredibly amazing i want to listen to her all day :( 😍♥️

I really love the first girl's voice. I know what you mean about improving by having the range to hit higher notes, but for a song like that I think her low, deep voice was perfect and created a really nice vibe! It reminded me off Moonbyuls voice in mamamoo, actually, though she is normally the groups rapper she is also a wonderful singer and her low voice adds so much depth to mamamoo songs. You can hear more of her singing in Mamamoo's recent song, Egotistic! And, of course, the rest of the girls can hit ridiculously stunningly high notes in songs like the way to sampo or delilah!

Tristan, do you prefer to get videos from experienced signers or people that are at an earlier stage in their learning? I'm at the level of your epic cringe excerpt and I wonder if I should get to a better level before sharing anything. I don't know the demographics of your following so it's hard to tell 🙂💙
I think he said in a previous video that he charges quite a bit for his classes which are more beneficial for those further along in their technique, but that if you're just starting out and just trying to get the basics that there are others out there who do it cheaper and he would happily suggest some :) (I can't remember which video that was on though so not 100% certain - apologies in advance if I've got it wrong!) :)

It's only $10 to be included in one month's critique session. He won't put it in a video, but he will write his critique out for you on Patreon. I'd say that's a fantastic deal for a beginner, since he will have a handful of solid advice for beginning techniques that you would improve with immediately. If you really do well what he suggests, you could even send another video in the next month. I don't think practicing aimlessly would get nearly as good results as if you received critique. Even if you think you're bad, you can see Tristan doesn't laugh or make fun of beginners at all, he can see the potential in everyone's voice so long as the clip they send him is of them making a genuine attempt!

I think you should do a vocal recovery video. Or when you know you've strained. I got sick and lost my voice for almost 4 months and my strength is just not there anymore....4 months later and it cracks, squeaks, and sounds shaky by the end of the day even with talking.

I've learned to sing with my chest and stopped using a whole high note tone of voice while singing a song. you should totally react to mamamoo! they’re a south korean girl group recognized by their vocals and amazing stage presence. you should really check out their immortal songs performances! its a program where senior singers are pit against each other while singing a song by another legendary singer and as of date, they are the only girl group to be invited onto the Best of the Best episode. each member has their own unique voice, and they’re all amazing. even the rapper could be considered a lead vocal in any other group. you should also check out some of their individual solo’s! each member has had their own solo and they were all released this year. please, please check them out!
