It's a tight fit depending on the bulb you're replacing with but as another video suggested (RepairEd), it's possible to reach down from above without removing too many parts. In my case I only had to remove the battery bracket on the driver side as it's the tighter one in order to retrofit the halogen bulbs with LED lights. Depending on the size of your hands and wrists it's doable with some patience if you prefer not to deal with the removal of the wheel well panels - thanks for showing the "proper" process.
I’ve replaced my headlight bulbs on my 2017 Mazda 3 from the engine bay.. I’ve got big hands as well. Also you do not need to disconnect the battery either.
I don't think this is correct, at least not for a 2014. I could easily access the headlights just by popping the hood. A little tight but nothing crazy. The only tricky one was the left low beam, which you just pop off the filter cap to get access to the light. Took me about 5 minutes.
Thank god for this video, all the other videos these dudes just have rubber fuckin fingers and wrists that can fit through 2'' by 1.5'' inch holes to remove and unplug and insert the new light without scratching. ALSO!!! Not ONE single video says to disconnect the battery while doing this. I didn't get zapped changing the high beams but was still worried
You might add that for the driver side, you simply have to detach the top of the air filter, lift it up as if you were replacing the air filter, then reach your hand inside and detach the headlight bulb.
You replaced the headlight I'm pretty sure? How did you replace the turn signal bulb? That's what I'm tryna do for mine and I can't seem to find a video explaining it. You've obviously done a lot to your car though, so a vid would be super helpful!
@@StatsReset Thi sis the second video which show you how to access the parking light from the wheel well (ignore the crappy music) ruclips.net/video/_i1hu7i7duw/видео.html
I would believe just leaving your lights on when you turn off the car, but beware, if you lock the doors and the lights don't go off, u gonna come to a dead battery. That's what I had to do with my old car I just got me a mazda 3 I haven't tried this yet. Hope this help tho it's years too late for a reply lol.
Hey man, I need to change one of ftont position light bulbs, thanks for this video, but do I have to disconnect battery to do it or it was just in case of accidetial touching plus?
No, you do not need to mess with the battery at all. If you’re using traditional bulbs, make sure to utilize gloves. Better to replace with LEDs though.
can also just pop the few tabs on the wheel well cover to reach it. no real need to remove the tire lol. but really you can reach both without doing much. driver side you just remove the filter cover to reach it, passenger, you can reach without doing anything. its hard to see but not that difficult to do
Lol. You don’t want to touch the light bulb because the oils from your finger will make the light malfunction and/or the glass to shatter. It won’t be able to regulate the heat as it’s supposed to.
Uhmm. Aren't red lights in the front illegal? Don't get me wrong, I know we all use illegal things like tints, overly bright headlights, etc. But cops actually do tend to care about people using red+blue lights..
You do NOT need to disconnect the battery to install a headlight bulb. Ever. Lol.
Well this is good to know bc I didnt lol
Great video. Accessing the light from above didn't work for me so this video was golden. Thanks for the detail in the vid also.

I did mine without removing anything. It took some time and patience but wasn’t too difficult.

I ain't got rubber fingers man
What’s the bulb on the very side called?? the one that’s lit red on your thumbnail
Surprised that you didn't take the engine and transmission off to change the headlight buld. I think you must do that!
Its on my next video.
Whats the name of the product used to seal the bulbs?
Thank you!!! I’ve been trying to figure out how the hell to do this Thank you!
You don't need to go through the wheel well to replace a headlight. At least if you don't have huge hands

I was hoping to see how you change the side/position light bulbs……
Have you done it yet or seen a video on it?? Need to change one myself
@@StatsReset I Have changed it twice now after the first set of LEDs burnt out. This is one video ruclips.net/video/KYt-UypThqU/видео.html

How do you get your high beams to work the H11 low beams turn on on my 2017 mazda 3 sedan but the high beams 9005 are not turning on
You push the light stock foward. They should both be H11

How did you setup you’re interior lights
I used a razor to pop open the plastic covers. I took out the bulbs and went to autozone and matched the size with blue LED bulbs.
How did you put the red ones in!!!!!
Same way but the bulbs are further to the outside of the housing.
How did you install the red Led lights? Do I need to dissemble the entire headlight?
No same way i did the headlights. Just a different bulb you pull out.
@@giorockmaster how do you get that bulb out?
are both high and low beams H11 bulbs? also, what's the bulb for the side parking lights?
Yes they are the same. I cant recall the side parking one. Sorry 😞. I just took them out and matched them up at the store
@@giorockmaster oh okay! is the side parking one not the 194R bulb you were holding in the video?
How are those led lights after few months? And how do you turn the fog lights on? lol
U turn fog lights on with the headlight stalk, if you look at the stalk there is a sliding part which you can rotate to turn the fog lights on
Do you have link to product
What battery do you recommend for 2014 hatchback istop Mazda3?
Any battery form autozone or orileys thats not the cheapest will do just fine. I say let it have 2 year warranty atleast.
Lol. You don’t want to touch the light bulb because the oils from your finger will make the light malfunction and/or the glass to shatter. It won’t be able to regulate the heat as it’s supposed to.
2017 model is different and it has an integrated set…. And each set has a price of $400+
Sylvania sucks lol. I had to buy new ones every year. Previous car. One bulb would go out
do u actually have to disconnect battery ? lol
No.
First!
Lmao thanks bud. Ur the best!
I hate how they do the light bulbs for maxda
Uhmm. Aren't red lights in the front illegal? Don't get me wrong, I know we all use illegal things like tints, overly bright headlights, etc. But cops actually do tend to care about people using red+blue lights..
Some countries require them to be red/amber
Are you married? 😅
FYI you can get all the bulbs from uptop this guy clearly doesnt work on cars often.
