Just bought one myself. Had to do it. I have been salivating over this for a couple of years. But never bought the cheaper version with rubber grips. With the Executive ... I couldn't postpone any longer. Great gun, great review!
If you want REAL versatility try getting a 460 S&W magnum and have TK Custom alter the cylinder to take their stainless steel moon clips made to hold 45 ACP. The moon clip can also hold and shoot 460 Rowland, 45 Super, 451 Detonic’s, and 45 Winchester magnum using Starline brass. And rimmed cartridges still shoot and extract from 460 S&W magnum, 454 Casull, ALL loads of 45 Colt as well as 45 Schofield.
Other youpers have fairly recently reviewed Taurus revolvers and had them literally fall apart in their hands. That 692 looks great. I hope it holds up.
Taurus needs a wake up call if they think they can sell their Executive line at Colt prices. Street prices need to come way down. You can buy a standard 692, Galloway Precision springs and wood grips for half the price of the Executive.
@Dayattherange. Good video and shooting. Great looking gun. I have bit older 692 6.5" barrel in flat black. When I first got it the double action trigger pull was terrible it has gotten better with time but not a smooth as what your looked like. It is a very versatile revolver. Thanks for sharing and take care. And again, great shooting!
My 692 been going for 5 years through many vids! MUST HAVE BEEN A REALLY SMART GUY THAT RECOMMENDED in an email they make this! I'm jealous as I don't have one, so added Wolff Hammer and return 11lb springs to make mine a bit better. I've compiled tons of Chrono data from around the web on them thinking I would get one...
@Dayattherange I've seen 44 mags not lock up right out of the box new. You could skin the cylinder for 5 minutes and it not lock up. Yours might be good, 9 out of 10 might be good, but you don't jump out of an airplane with a parachute that works 9 out of 10 times.
@AlaskanBallistics i get what you are saying but if I were to take it literally lol I wouldn't have a rugegpor S&w. As both of those have caused me trouble out of the box new.
Well, I'm impressed. Not o nly with the new offering from Taurus, but there are not nmany today that can shoot a double action revolver well in its double action mode. I am a Handgunner first and foremost, Rifle second and shotbun a very disteant third. well done on you Sir! wonder how our one eyed buddy could do with it? would be interesting. LOL!!! (He knows me simply as Knife from our Airgun days). KnifeMaker/ Retired after over 47+ Years in the Craft.
You can outright shoot those revolvers. Apparently you are living up to your handle. Thanks, I'll be pulling out the King Cobra for a run. Have not shot it in a decade.

That versatility in ammo selection is impressive!

I'm in a timeline where Taurus got its act together. Insane! Hopefully Charter Arms and Rossi follow suit.
Agreed

A good revolver.
Have to agree TK Custom is THE choice of moon clips. Bar none!!!!
The last two exec grade models had not excited me. The 692, however, is something I really want.
Well heck.. I need promoted
Have you try Taurus 608 ? Can you make a review
MRG! Are you shooting that revolver free recoil 😂? Sorry , I couldn’t resist . It never gets old . Nice shooting and thanks for sharing !

I have been trying to convince him let's do a revolver video LOL he's shy lol
:) :) :) yes
Where would I go to learn how to make a RUclips Video like you do with you shooting and a box with the target in a corner of the video?
gosh I am not sure where to send you as everyone just about does it different and it really depends on the software you are using.

Well crap.. now I had to sub.. us revo guys have to stick together
Awesome at times I feel like I am the only one LOL.

Hopefully they will have it without the ports.
My problem with this gun is the price. I can get a nice gp100, sp101 or the s&w 686+ for the same money.
:)
