Frl tho, we might possibly be looking at the Arkham style game revival AND maybe just maybe, they'll be able to get their hands on the IP fully and CRAFT future Arkham standalone games (both regular and VR) This is SUPER exciting cause the developers seem to be true fans of the Arkham games ❤

Roger craig smith is the only one who can take Kevin's place in the Arkham franchise in my opinion, since he was the one who voiced arkham batman in arkham origins and was phenomenal at it

I was sceptical about arkham shadow, but im extremly impressed about this trailer, it feels like old arkham games, no suicide squad, no gotham knights. WE ARE SO BACK
My big issue with VR has always been that a great majority of popular VR games were just glorified tech demos and nothing truly worth playing. I had always felt the technology wasn’t being used to its fullest potential. FINALLY we have a VR game that uses VR to truly enhance the experience and make it something unique. I’ve got the feeling that this game is single-handily going to change a lot of people’s opinions on VR
It has definitely changed in the past year. I feel like the Tech Demo phase is slowly disappearing, especially with games like Asgard's Wrath 2, Assassin's Creed Nexus, and all of the bigger games coming out later this year.

@@coolertuep It might technically be possible to sideload it to Quest 2 or Quest 1, but it would run like hot garbo. Those headsets don't have the processing power for a game like this, this trailer pretty much confirms that.
Im really excited for this, but let's not pretend Q3 isn't holding back VR in general. Obviously the cost of PCVR and PSVR2 is more, but this game appears to lack any physics.
@@A540678 Quest products are the reason VR even exists at the moment. They’re the reason there’s any money at all in creating these games. Developers don’t avoid making PCVR games just to annoy you. They do it because they don’t sell. PSVR2 does a little bit better but it’s still peanuts compared to the Quest install base.
I hate to be this person, but watching the amazing maneuverability of Batman using his grappling gun makes me extremely angry that they're still not a Spider-Man VR game. Like Sony you have the license you have your own VR headset. Just freaking do it!

Same reason we got pissed at half life alyx. Regardless of wether the end product is good or not, we’ve waited ages for a new entry only to get a vr side game. Now don’t get me wrong. I like vr. I liked alyx. But half life and especially the Arkham series are held back by the limitations of Vr. Vr can do a lot but it’s limited because a human beings inner ear is limited. And this the games, no matter how cool, can’t do what the mainline titles can. I think this is cool. But I really woulda preferred a return to form Arkham city/knight type game.
Better question is this also available for that Quest 3 Lite or whatever too? Either way, why limit this to just Quest 3 graphics, could also add a fuller world PC VR version too! Is this even open-world or linear like FF13 (The Lightning ones).

I met Roger Craig Smith recently at a con. He said he had recorded a ton for the game and said he was curious about how much that were able to put in the game since it was super ambitious and the scope was huge. But told me he was really excited for people to try the game. I order a quest 3 immediately after I met him purely cause his excitement for the game made me really excited. That and he is like my favorite Batman next to the late and amazing Kevin Conroy.

The argument against it being Quest 3 exclusive and it not coming to PSVR2/PC is valid, but Meta did finance this game. WB just okayed it. So without Meta a new Arkham game wouldn't even exist!

I don't have a meta quest but I'm lowkey hyped. Looks better then Gotham Knights and Suicide Squad. I can tell the people behind this game are very passionate about the Arkhamverse and I love that. That's what Suicide Squad was missing. This game feels like an Arkham game

1:18 My only worry is that some scenes look like the game is taking over your movements with premade animations. If your virtual hands do all the actions instead of you doing them, that counts as a bad vr game in my book. So i’m just gonna sit here hoping its not like that :)
Most likely not, since there are several things in the game that avoids doing that, for example the explosive gadget, instead of spraying it on there you just shoot it on a wall like it’s a gun
On one hand, this is not how we wanted the game to be like the other Arkham games. On the other hand, we get to experience the Arkhamverse in first person.
I highly doubt this is the quest 3 true power, you notice a lot of games that come out towards the end of hardware's lifecycle usually are always amazing because the hardware been out long enough for developers to actually understand the how much they can really push out of the hardware. gba, 3ds, ps3, wii, quest2 and so on all have proof of that, batman is early software meaning well eventually, and obviously get way better games quarter 3 and 4 of the quest 3 lifecycle, still surprised people don't know this.
Red Matter 2 is an incredible looking game on quest 3. I can't believe how crisp it looks for being standalone. Asgards Wrath is very polished as well.

@@Cooe. The game was build around Quest 2 FIRST. We have dozens of other examples of games on Quest 2 and 3 as of now. All those games are built on Quest 2 first. Moving it to an "exclusive" Quest 3 game in the last portion of development is a ridiculous comparison to something actually built from the ground up for Quest 3. Nexus is another example. Looks incredible on Quest 2 and another reason for my point. These games can look good, but they don't.

Resident evil 4 vr was quest 2 „exclusive“ but you could just sideload the apk and play on quest 1. same might be possible here

Yeah it doesn't seem worth it for what a few hours then you've basically got a platform with not much more to offer.
1:18 My only worry is that some scenes look like the game is taking over your movements with premade animations. If your virtual hands do all the actions instead of you doing them, that counts as a bad vr game in my book. So i’m just gonna sit here hoping its not like that :)
Most likely not, since there are several things in the game that avoids doing that, for example the explosive gadget, instead of spraying it on there you just shoot it on a wall like it’s a gun
If I don't get to punch them myself, I won't not play it but I will be quite let down.
On one hand, this is not how we wanted the game to be like the other Arkham games. On the other hand, we get to experience the Arkhamverse in first person.

I highly doubt this is the quest 3 true power, you notice a lot of games that come out towards the end of hardware's lifecycle usually are always amazing because the hardware been out long enough for developers to actually understand the how much they can really push out of the hardware. gba, 3ds, ps3, wii, quest2 and so on all have proof of that, batman is early software meaning well eventually, and obviously get way better games quarter 3 and 4 of the quest 3 lifecycle, still surprised people don't know this.
Red Matter 2 is an incredible looking game on quest 3. I can't believe how crisp it looks for being standalone. Asgards Wrath is very polished as well.

@@Cooe. The game was build around Quest 2 FIRST. We have dozens of other examples of games on Quest 2 and 3 as of now. All those games are built on Quest 2 first. Moving it to an "exclusive" Quest 3 game in the last portion of development is a ridiculous comparison to something actually built from the ground up for Quest 3. Nexus is another example. Looks incredible on Quest 2 and another reason for my point. These games can look good, but they don't.

Also, Assassin's Creed: Nexus while definitely pretty for a Quest 2 game doesn't look even REMOTELY as good as this!

@@r4yv1 The game you are referring to is from 2016, the VR industry has evolved a lot. In this trailer you can see that this game is crazy and squeezes out quest 3. So no, this is not a technical demo, it is an AAA.
