Kind of funny, but shady Grady couldn’t be shady enough. The humor felt a little forced; it was more natural on Sanford and Son.
I liked it better when Grady was in Watts with Fred and co. The script here was too bland.
Sanford and Son never did spin-offs well.
Norman Lear wasn’t involved in Sanford and Son which was a lower caliber show in comparison with Lear shows

Unfortunately, yeah, it ran for one season before NBC said "hold the Mayo."
