    I'm actually pretty stoked mine came back. First 2 attempts I learned a few planter rules (deeper planter, not watering in the winter) so got some nice 2 years now and now that Colorado is warming up they are coming up really nice

    Free Rhizomes Friday! Any suggestions for strains that work well in super hot areas like South Texas or Florida?

    • @MoreBeer_
      @MoreBeer_  2 года назад +2

      There are many that actually do well in all climates, and for you I might recommend Cascade! For example, the Columbus Rhizomes grow best in hot, dry climates. The Cascade hop rhizomes is suitable for all climates. And the Golding hops rhizome is best suited for mild, moist climates. On all of our rhizome product pages, you'll find the climate we recommend for each in the first sentence of the product description 🍻

    For those new to home brewing who are bottling & bottle conditioning, what is the maximum volumes of CO2 for bottling in long necks? At about what level does the bottle pop?

  • @srlobaugh

    Is there an issue with cross pollination using different strains?

    • @MoreBeer_
      @MoreBeer_  2 года назад +1

      Not exactly sure if there will be an issue with cross pollination, but if you grow two different strains close enough, they will start to grow together, and it can then make it difficult to track which hop is which from that point on. Hope that's helpful!

    I started my B3 Hops rhizomes last year. This year they are growing very well. One intersting note however...After harvesting last year i decided to space them out. When i went to move the planters, i found that the roots had found their way to the drainage holes and are now growing underneath my planter. Finally, Should i be fertilizing with a good organic fertilizer?

    • @MoreBeer_
      @MoreBeer_  2 года назад

      That's actually fascinating! I've never heard of that before, but they do have a mind of their own once they get growing. For fertilizer, you're looking for something high in nitrogen and low in phosphorus. Citrus and fruit tree food is usually a good choice, and whether you use organic or not is your call!

      I have been growing a cascade hop plant in Orando for four years, It's roots also find their way to the ground under the pot. There is no aroma or flavor with the cones i get. that is disappointing but I still put them in the whirlpool of some beer kits i brew from Morebeer.

    For the Q&A episode: How to properly set the gap on a mill? Does the gauge (or credit card) move freely or is the gap tight to the point where the rollers move as you push and pull on the gauge/credit card?

    • @MoreBeer_
      @MoreBeer_  2 года назад

      Awesome question, thanks Kevin! We'll definitely answer in the Q&A!
