the golden era of JRPG, so many games with beautiful , story, characters, and musics.
Even Chrono cross pass by 20 years, this opening soundtrack "Time's scar" still in my favorite playlist.
I repeated it 15~20 times even yesterday while I read novel.
Time's Scar is one of my workout songs. Love Chrono Chross music!

1:49 As a little kid I will never ever forget that close up pan to Kid's eyes. It will forever be engraved in my mind. The only game intro where it made me had goosebumps every time I played that part as a kid. So the new version is meh for me compared to the original ''zooming to Kid's eyes''.

Yes I agree. I love how Kid smiles with outstretched hand and the screen zooms in as her eyes slowly open.
Yes the original gives so more emotion, i also agree with the goosebumps, the original was simply perfect.

Same! It's my favorite game of all time. I play it once a year every year. It still surprises me and moves me to this day. A masterpiece.

we are with you brother, you are not crying alone. This game changed my live in my young age (10) and I watched different on world as other kids.
Scars of Time is going to always be a masterwork of Yasunori Mitsuda's, in my opinion.
I still have Chrono Cross to this day, and playing the Another Eden collab chapters with his music...

The fact that Cross' music uses so many cues from Trigger made it hit that much harder when I finally played Trigger, to see what I'd missed and what even was being referenced in Cross. I'd essentially started the "series" in reverse, so finally playing Chrono Trigger on the (admittedly inferior) PS1 Greatest Hits release, the depth of that soundtrack after decades of ignorance was a revelation just adding to how classic these titles are.
Suffice to say, both games and their soundtracks are lifelong favorites of mine now, so there is no argument to be had from me. 🍻

The title is a bit misleading, but I highly recommend Chrono Trigger/Cross fans check out Another Eden!
I vouch. Dont let the tag "mobile gacha rpg" fool you. Its that damn good. Story, bgms, visuals, world building, gameplay and its difficulty, were top notch.
Even if you go the free route.(Im a dolphin.) There are plenty of free characters that can muscle you through the game.
@@secoTheSonicFan how far have you tried it? I never said that this is a braindead replacement of CT or CC, and i agree, but not in a bad way.
I dont know how bad your sentiment about mobile games in general is, but if you like to play mobile games, Another Eden should be on your list. Nowadays' games (especially gacha) were mostly full of bullshits, fanservices, and moneygrubbing strats. But at least there are rare cases of mobile games that are good and have great stories, and AE is one of them. If you're mostly a pc/console gamer, then no wonder AE isnt in your radar (eventho its also on steam), and its fine, there are tons of amazing games in those platforms.
I know Chrono Trigger is AMAZING but dont be a toxic fans and treat another games as a bad ones just because its not CT. The only things AE and CT have in common are the teams (big ones are the writer and music composer), and AE takes some elements as inspirations from it. After that its a different game. But eh its fine do what you want with whichever you liked. If you've tried Another Eden, i recommend playing it at the very least until chapter 26. After that the stories is still going on (and get better) but your choice
This is by no means a secondary creation made by a third party, it's almost an official work that the people making it are the same, just by a different company. If you are a fan of the Chrono series, it would be a shame not to play it because it is completely irrelevant without the word "Chrono" attached to it. Because this game is free to play.
The Legend of Dragoon also deserves something like this.. fantastic
Yeah for real it was Sony last ip on PS1 but PS2 came out and overshadowed it loved that wish for years for remake

I still listen to the intro, I'm 35. I have it burned on a bunch of my mix cds from when j was younger. I would listen to it in the car. wife thinks I'm crazy.
These songs reveberate deep within my soul and echoes in my brain the soundtrack brings tears to my eyes 10/100 much this game ost is 1 of a kind

I dont know what Another Eden is but OH BOY what a love letter to Chrono Cross. You can see the admiration and the love in every frames. 10/10
I dont wanna be an essay guy but you have to try it. Even if you're only in for the collabs (so far there are P5R, Tales of franchise, and this soon), the game itself is THAT good. Just try it yourself.
Yeah the game actually good, dont see something like it for awhile. And it have both pc and mobile version too
Elevator pitch: It's an RPG by Kato (the guy behind both Chrono games) that as the other guy said has crossovers that never expire
The whole Chrono Cross crossover is such a fantastic love letter to the original game, fans of CC will for sure love it

It's gorgeous. I can't get over how perfectly it translates the original artwork.
I admit, I was not prepared for the punch to the feels.
Played Another Eden up to chapter 13, finally unlock the Complex Dream collab story, and then Scars of Time has me tearing up like a kid.
It felt the same way when I finally played Chrono Trigger after Chrono Cross, and all the odd references suddenly made sense, so the job Wright Flyer Studios did here has to be commended.
It's like finally making it back to our literal "Home World".

I'ts already interesting enough that both game are related by some of the dev's team.
the name Time Scar is exactly as is pretends....a mark upon time, ancient and powerful, it's effect felt through out all of time itself....the O.G. version, with aged look and feel, embodies this to perfection.....kudos to the ppl behind Another Eden, it is remarkable how they reinterpreted that vision.

@@baeshin I haven't placed any Chrono game but wanna get into them. Watching this video, I 1000% would prefer the old graphics to whatever they did in the right picture. The old textures have a complex combination of colours and are more mature in colour tone. A remaster is the best scenario I could've asked for. (I am for example not happy with what they did with Xenoblade Chronicles 1 when they remastered that one.) I hope Chrono Cross' characters will look the same as in the original.
@@NoctLightCloud The point is to not trust this video as it's mostly the game emulated with custom textures. If you wanna play the original, go for it. Just do it the legal way.
The remaster seems to be the original, just a touch nicer looking. Probably the best way to get into Chrono Cross at this point. Legal too.
@@baeshin my ps2 broke unfortunately, and here in Austria, the original is very expensive (I am not up for paying such a high price if I don't know the game). What I liked about your comment the most though was your mentioning of the legal way, cause I am also 100% against emulators and stuff like that. (especially for games that are still being sold.)
I hope everybody knows that it isn’t exactly a pure Chrono Cross remake. It’s a cross over collaboration with another game called Another Eden and this is called Complex Dream.
I'm gonna need some background on a lot of that.
@@warlockpaladin2261 "Another Eden" is a mobile game made by Masato Kato and Yasunori Mitsuda (two of the creators of Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross.) It was created as a spiritual successor to the Chrono franchise and has a LOT of (unofficial) Chrono Trigger references, shoutouts, and Easter Eggs. "Complex Dream" is their most recent story DLC. It is a collaboration with SquareEnix that features the characters from Chrono Cross being pulled into the world/story of Another Eden.
The biggest hype to come from this collaboration though, is the fact that Square extended the copyright to Kato and Mitsuda (after 20 years of denying them access.) So the fact that this dlc exists is strengthening people's suspicions of a Chrono Cross remaster/remake.

I'd never heard of Another Eden, but this immediately got me on Steam looking it up. I'd still love to see a proper CC remake some day (maybe even with that second half fully fleshed out at long last), but I'll definitely have to play a bit of this.

Another thing I like about Another Eden is that you can still access the events as long as you've done to a certain point of quests~ can't summon them now though~

They're straight up teasing us!
Still one of the greatest gaming tracks of all time (even though I never played either game). The intro leaves a bit to be desired. Mostly I'm not personally a fan of the anime trope where the intro is just a jumbled mess of character moments, unless those scenes are also packed with symbolism alluding to what may happen in the story. They're gorgeous renders (especially in the new one), but I want more than just a pretty face.
Its not an official remake of the opening sequence, but the 2021 was the Cross Over event for a mobile game called Another Eden.

You know you're a full grown up person / Gamer when you can memorize the entire scene just by listening Scars of Time music with eyes closed..
Even though they had old times graphics they still hit hard when it came to openings. It still looks really good as a back then title. Sure if it was more today it woulda felt more like budget cuts or at the least an artistic choice but still doesn’t look that bad. Never played it before but I have always been curious to.
Did not realize how much seeing these characters again, even in a tie-in cutscene, would hit me as hard as it did...
Kid, Orlah, Harley and Serge are my favourite characters in this game.
I played the game no more than 4 times in my life when it went out but still remember the Opening till now.
Iconic.
For the first part of the opening the old ine is much better, as it develops, the quality of rendering and different timing goes for the 2nd one.
At the end the travelling through the eyes got much better in the old one.
The personality imbued in that moment is completeley different in the way both girls turn around and sees you.
The first more confident and friendly in my opinion much more likeable.
Beautiful. This song is chilling and haunting even after so many years of listening to it. I wish they would have done a 1:1 recreation of the original intro though.
Just recently started recently replaying my playstation 1 version of this amazing game.
Imagine if the Chrono Cross remake (And I'm not complaining, I'm happy it got an upgrade) looked like how they made it for Another Eden's trailer. The Chrono series is overdue for some love and attention.
That would have been freaking awesome! I even liked their script at the beginning better than the original.

I have never tired of the the OG FMV. The first time I watched it, I made my mom and stepdad come watch it. I have ZERO clue what that reworked intro is, but it hits a lot of the same beats REALLY well. Gonna have to look into whatever that is!!! Kinda wanna use that new intro during my playthrough... lol

I was REALLY confused for a hot second there. I didn't know about any crossover event, and I don't know what Another Eden is. I did think it was an honest to god remake, then was wondering who all those non-CC people were. Thanks for the explanation.
This game is an RPG for smartphones and PCs called Another Eden, produced by Yasunori Mitsuda and Masato Kato, who were involved in the production of Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross. Although it is not a game released by Square Enix, it can be said that it is a side story of the Chrono series. It's definitely not a secondary creation made by a fan. Serge, Kid, Tsukuyomi, and Star Child can be used in the work, and they will not leave because they will join permanently. It's so great to be able to play the story of Chrono Cross, which can only be seen in this work's crossover, for free.

Its a Remaster. After the trailer came out someone data mined Another Eden again and found new text saying "In honor of the Chrono Cross Remaster, a special Complex Dream episode is launching". The Episode is launching the same day as the Remaster is going to be announced.

This game is a free game called Another Eden. Complex Dream can be played for free in Another Eden, and all Chrono Cross members are permanent members. Tsukuyomi doesn't leave either. You can enjoy it without spending any money. The production company is not Square Enix, but the person who produced it is involved.
The newer one isn't from a Chrono Cross remaster though? It's from the Another Eden crossover, Complex Dream.

This is the old Chrono Cross intro and the Another Eden Collab intro. Should definitely change the title, since the remake is coming out in April this year. Compare the old one and the new one then, since they will BOTH be actual Chrono Cross games, not a collab for a mobile game. (Not knocking AE, but stating facts)
I kinda wish they reanimated the Crono Cross intro in 2d for the remaster.
