One of my all time favorites . Just wish Val was up to playing Madmartigan again. He was part of making the movie so great and added a lot of the humor and action.
My only regret in seeing this now, is that my dad passed in 2017, before he ever got a chance to see this sequel. Willow was one of our favorite movies to watch together when I was a kid, and the first D&D campaign I played in (run by my dad) was set in the world of Willow.

Exactly what I was thinking. They have free reign to flesh out the mythos with original characters and situation without it being like the writers are walking through a minefield.
I've hummed or whistled Willow's soundtrack probably a million times, its my earworm killer. I've sometimes found myself humming it when trying to calm myself down. I am very much looking forward to this series.
One of the best, unique sounding and slightly underrated soundtracks in film. I'm with you though; if forced to choose an all time favorite film to carry on with me for eternity, it would be Willow.

When i was little, every time i was home sick i'd watch Willow. I didn't often have family members who weren't working, so sick days Willow, Mad Martigan, and Elora Danan would keep me company and make me feel better. This feels like seeing a friend you haven't seen in years.

I remember 20 years ago when I watched Lord of the Rings, I remember watching similar fantasy a decade before that. I went looking for it and realised it was Willow!
I'm a grown, middle-aged adult and I'm not ashamed to say I teared up watching this trailer. I so wish Val Kilmer could have returned for even a cameo, but having Warwick Davis is more than enough. I can't wait for November.

My mum was in the original film and I got to go to the set just outside Welwyn in the UK, I met Warwick and Ron Howard and a few others, it was an amazing experience. My mother has since passed away, I wish she could have watched this, but I will enjoy this and remember good times :)

Can I just say how delightful it is that this just looks so, like, unabashedly endearing and and fun, and genuinely crammed with a spirit of fun and adventure? I have to admit, I was worried they might end up taking it too seriously, and sure you want a degree of gravity, to the story. But it doesn't look like they've tried to make it 'dark'.

I saw Willow in the movie theaters when it first came out back in 1988. I loved it then and still love it to this day. I truly hope this series is just as magical as the movie and does not disappoint. I was totally surprised to see Sorsha/Joanne Whalley back. If only Madmartigan/Val Kilmer was in it it would be perfect.
Val Kilmer doing a cameo in Top Gun Maverick and Willow would be incredible, I just fear Disney will destroy it the way they have everything they have touched in this last decade.

"Let's take a bunch of beloved 90's songs and then do female covers of them in that stereotypical affected speech impediment way of singing that all Gen Z "artists" have, it'll be great!" The Black Hole Sun cover was blasphemous. Their idea of "strong women" is just men with boobs, and then everything HAS to be gay because of course it does. My entire family is waiting for it. This is the rainy day weather and winter show that'll bring us together. It's March 2023 and Willow on Disney+ has been canceled. It was a show about gay teens on a quest and Willow. Most people hated and/or ignored it and it didn't find an audience. And now it's May 2023 and, Disney+ is dumping the show completely from its streaming service.

I love how much of a storybook illustration the monsters and creatures look like. Definitely highly anticipated. All the old cast and the Elora reveal has me hopeful. Just give me the Ron Howard feel good stuff and it would be such a welcome reprieve.

Before the Lord of the Rings trilogy, we only had 3 GOOD fantasy movies. Willow was one of them. I'm still stunned how many people have never heard of Willow! Ron Howard working with George Lucas? Now we finally get a sequel in the form of a series. Hopefully Disney won't botch this like they have almost everything else they have touched recently.

Those episodes were awesome! I cried when Willows daughter said he was her hero. Then I found out its his daughter in RL so sweet! Been a fan of this movie as a kid as soon as it came out. Must have watched the movie 100 times. This new series does it justice. Cant wait to see them all.

Probably won't be that good, look at the power of the rings, it was pretty but it lacked tension and suspense and wasn't that much action as compared to the films.
This should have been animated so they could avoid having to deal with the age of actors and it would have allowed for Madmartigan to return. He was the best character.

I remember 20 years ago when I watched Lord of the Rings, I remember watching similar fantasy a decade before that. I went looking for it and realised it was Willow!
I didn't even know Willow was turned into a series on Disney until I just read dozens of negative reviews about it on Facebook.
If you haven't seen Willow, it was sooooooo far ahead of it's time.
and now... Disney gets to shit all over it.

I'm a grown, middle-aged adult and I'm not ashamed to say I teared up watching this trailer. I so wish Val Kilmer could have returned for even a cameo, but having Warwick Davis is more than enough. I can't wait for November.

My mum was in the original film and I got to go to the set just outside Welwyn in the UK, I met Warwick and Ron Howard and a few others, it was an amazing experience. My mother has since passed away, I wish she could have watched this, but I will enjoy this and remember good times :)

Can I just say how delightful it is that this just looks so, like, unabashedly endearing and and fun, and genuinely crammed with a spirit of fun and adventure? I have to admit, I was worried they might end up taking it too seriously, and sure you want a degree of gravity, to the story. But it doesn't look like they've tried to make it 'dark'.

I saw Willow in the movie theaters when it first came out back in 1988. I loved it then and still love it to this day. I truly hope this series is just as magical as the movie and does not disappoint. I was totally surprised to see Sorsha/Joanne Whalley back. If only Madmartigan/Val Kilmer was in it it would be perfect.

This show is the biggest fucking dumpster fire I think I have ever seen in my life. "Representative of the times we're in" for sure. They're trying to profit off of the nostalgia of Gen X by resurrecting our cult classics, but then they're shitting Gen Z all over it. This is all Gen Z is, ruined Gen X stuff. I honestly can't even believe this was made. The ONLY redeeming quality is perhaps the set designs, those aren't bad, but the writing, the acting, the "story", everything is offensive as hell. Even the soundtrack is perfectly representative of what Hollywood keeps doing to us. "Let's take a bunch of beloved 90's songs and then do female covers of them in that stereotypical affected speech impediment way of singing that all Gen Z "artists" have, it'll be great!" The Black Hole Sun cover was blasphemous. Their idea of "strong women" is just men with boobs, and then everything HAS to be gay because of course it does.

It's March 2023 and Willow on Disney+ has been canceled. It was a show about gay teens on a quest and Willow. Most people hated and/or ignored it and it didn't find an audience.

LOL Read it got mixed reviews, fans were left disappointed because they wanted something as good as Star Wars (even though George Lucas only produced it)... some loved it but an equal amount hated it. I just heard it didn't do as well as they had hoped and got more popular as the years went on. Either way... who cares. I loved it as a kid and can't wait for the show.

I'd love for this to be good. Willow was a great movie. But somehow I sense Disney will mess it up beyond recognition (as they did with Star Wars, Indy 5, and the MCU).

I love how much of a storybook illustration the monsters and creatures look like. Definitely highly anticipated. All the old cast and the Elora reveal has me hopeful. Just give me the Ron Howard feel good stuff and it would be such a welcome reprieve.

Before the Lord of the Rings trilogy, we only had 3 GOOD fantasy movies. Willow was one of them. I'm still stunned how many people have never heard of Willow! Ron Howard working with George Lucas? This would've been a great idea for the early 90's when Val could've returned and we got an actual sequel. But waiting 35 years seems silly.

Those episodes were awesome! I cried when Willows daughter said he was her hero. Then I found out its his daughter in RL so sweet! Been a fan of this movie as a kid as soon as it came out. Must have watched the movie 100 times. This new series does it justice. Cant wait to see them all.

Probably won't be that good, look at the power of the rings, it was pretty but it lacked tension and suspense and wasn't that much action as compared to the films.
This should have been animated so they could avoid having to deal with the age of actors and it would have allowed for Madmartigan to return. He was the best character.
