I am SOOO happy they are building onto Willow and not trying to remake. The original was perfectly imperfect and I really didn't want them to mess with it.

Willow was so ahead of its time. The original film looks incredible even today. So epic in scale in terms of production, unforgettable characters, great score, and beautiful story. Almost got choked up watching this new trailer. Willow was a huge part of our childhood and this looks nothing short of spectacular!
I remember listening to Warwick talk about how hard he was trying to get Willow back in theaters, to tell more of the story and being turned down many times but ultimately triumph, congratulations Warwick 🍻👍
Just because he fought for making more does not mean he is getting what he fought for. Disney is making a lot of content for the sake of content without focusing on quality which is why so many shows of theirs have been really bad to barely tapping average.
Willow is/was , one of those movies that I wanted a continuation of. The adventure was just so grand and captivating. I wanted it to go on forever. SO happy to see a reboot.Looks like I'll have to sign up for Disney plus.Some shows just tug at your heart and you have to give in.

Man oh man… I remember watching the first movie when it came out back in 1988. Me and my siblings gathered around the tv. I was 8yrs old at the time. Now I’m 42. The memories. Shut-out to my dawg Meegosh who held it down with Willow. 😀 I hope they bring everyone back.

Willow shaped a whole generation of Sci-fi/fantasy kids. I was one of those kids. This trailer filled me with all the good emotions and feels a good story should.

I was excited too, and thank god this looks nothing like the original. It’s fresh, it’s 2020s. It’s diverse, but not diverse enough. All that horrible cloying “atmosphere” crap has been removed. There’s a focus here on something fresh, more like Game or Thrones and Princess Bride, but cleaner. Thankfully toxic white Madmartigan types aren’t in this.
Saw this when I was a teenager of 13 summer's and I have never forgotten it. I got into D&D 2nd edition three years later unfortunately both myself and my brother fell in with power gamers and had to learn the hard way how to play my first ever PC was a Wizard that I had based of off Willow, unfortunately again the GM killed him off 1 minute later (I had played by the rules & made all of my numbers for saves). I asked him why his response "As an object Lesson" after that I made it my personal mission to make him Quit. It took me 2 years to do it we moved a month after that and haven't played with any of them since. Sorry it's just a hard memory for me this is one of those movies (& now a show) that Inspires a lot of people to follow one of there dreams. BTW: if any gamers out there know what class the "bodyguard" was let me know I still haven't been able to figure it out to this day....

I had both a smile and a tear on my face watching this. Of all the trailers Disney has released this year, this one is the most meaningful. Willow was and always will be such a heartwarming classic, and seeing the great Warwick Davis come back just means so much. I truly hope kids and families of today will discover and delight in the sheer beauty that is Willow.

I remember watching willow on VHS multiple times when I was a kid. It's one of the best movie I've watch. Hearing that soundtrack again brings back memories. I hope this will be as good as the first one.

My friends nick named me Willow back in high school in the 80's because I was the shortest in the group and had his exact same haircut. They still call me Willow and I am now 51. I am so looking forward to this.

We're annoyed that things we loved as children are being brought back from the past by people with no talent only to be "updated" to modern woke standards - thus tainting the original product. We're left with 2 choices - ignore the new product and try to remember them for what they were or watch the new product and tainting our memories of the original. Maybe Willow will be good, but the track record of what's been done to Star Wars, Star Trek, The Muppets, Dark Crystal, Lord of the Rings, etc., has many of us rolling our eyes at the obvious play for nostalgia that will likely have less to do with the original property than it does with modern politics.
What is wrong with the Dark Crystal? It seemed to be well received? (I'm talking about the Netflix show.) And Lord of the Rings? Star Trek? Star Wars isn't perfect but they've had some good new projects. Also, beware the lens if nostalgia. It's just a pair of rose-colored glasses to make you believe the past was perfect (or close to) and nothing new can ever compare so we shouldn't even try. Very rooted in psychology.
Hearing James Horner's Willow theme is an icing on the cake! I can't wait to hear how James Newton Howard will incorporate his theme into this upcoming musical score of the series!

Seeing Sorsha with a sword once more, Willow facing off against someone with Cherlindrea's wand (or what looks like it), Vohnkar...man...I hope this is as good as the trailer...wonder if "Mumbo" and "Jumbo" will show up!
Willow was a milestone in movie fantasy, epic scope, likeable characters, memorable villains, goody asides, it had everything. Too bad that we probably won't have Mad Martigan, but maybe something similar? We need a hero-scoundrel-swordsman-out of his depth but brave character.
Sadly, Val Kilmer isn't in much of a state to do much, if any, acting. Throat cancer robbed him of his voice and treatments of any cancer cause a lot of damage to the body. I briefly met him once at a convention. He was doing as well as he could, but it was a far cry from how he once was physically.

Also willows a hobbit/halfling and a mage to boot their is a vary good chance he outlived Martigan. Based on what type of hobbit were talking about hobbits live to around 120-400 years. Their not elvs old but their still half fea so they live a really really long time and willow is old. Meaning 50 to 100+ years might have past since the first movie.

James Horner's original score is an absolute masterpiece, and in my opinion, one of the most underrated scores of all time. This trailer doesn't feel the same without him.
Agreed. I remember seeing some trailers years ago that used the music from Willow because the actual music for the movie wasn't ready. I was like, "Hey! That's Willow. I know that music anywhere. Don't try to pass it off as music for some other movie."
Go watch the old movie Krull. It came out about five years before Willow, absolutely a so bad its great type of movie. But Horner did the music, and you can clearly hear a lot of the themes he would later use in Willow. The movie itself is not nearly as good as Willow, but its still a lot of fun.
Krull the movie I find unwatchable, but the score by Horner I listen to every once in a while. Especially the opening and closing credits and the love theme. It's another one of Horner's pure magic soundtracks.
Love Warwick Davis! Wasn't a big Willow fan when it came out but it had/has so much potential I guess you can call me one. Seeing Willow looking seasoned, tested, wise, and ready has me excited.
We are dying for more swords and sorcery movies... but under Disney at present? Unfortunately their current track record is lead to the sinking of more legendary franchises than the creation and advancement of them... I have hopes but they are bruised.
The Lucasfilm logo at the beginning gave me goosebumps. It made me think, what if Disney turned Lucasfilm into the Sci-fi/Fantasy studio it deserves to be. Put someone who knows the Sci-fi/Fantasy genre inside and out in charge. And then we could get some really fun and fantastical movies and TV shows. And Lucasfilm has plenty of existing IP, but if we had someone with some serious nerd cred running the show we could even see new Sci-Fi/Fantasy IP being made. That's what I'd love to see!

Why is it that in this endless abyssal void that Hollywood has become that a Willow TV Series is both the most faithful to its source material and the most interring thing to watch?! I had no expectations but I am so invested! Please be as good as this looks!

This trailer got me even more excited for this than I was before, because of how faithful it looks to the original. And not just to the story, but importantly, to the tone and the spirit of the original. We just don't get fun, whimsical, adventurous, feel-good movies as often as we did when the original Willow came out, and it feels awesome to see that classic style of fun film-making come back in a time where many shows (and reboots) prefer to be dark and gritty.
March 2023. Willow on Disney+ has been canceled. It was a gay teen romance on a quest where Willow showed up. Everybody pretty much hated and/or ignored the show, and it never found an audience.
The original movie was so good, not only was it a great movie, it had a brilliant story, good dialogue, great acting & in my opion one of the best soundtracks to any movie. I hope this will carry on the torch from the original!
My mother took my brother and I to see Willow when I was 8 and he was 12. It's one of our favorite movies of all time. And I'm still amazed at how many people have never seen it and how many people have never even heard of it.
My mother bought me the VHS when I was a kid and I watched it with no expectation and it was such a wonderful surprise. To see Joanne Whaley and Warwick Davis in here again makes me so happy. I can’t wait to see this. ☺️

Seeing the original when I was in elementary and now seeing this it has brought so many memories I had forgotten. This has brought tear to my eyes and I don't know why. But thank you to whom ever thought of bringing Willow back to this new generation. I hope my daughter gets intrigued as well like I once did.
I honestly thought I had lost the capacity to be excited by things like this, but me too. I watched Willow with my children and they have all loved it. I remember my friend and I, at school excitedly collecting some little foam bits of promotional nonsense for the film that came with, I think Weetabix, cereal. We were only nine, he was such lovely boy, always a little bit scruffy and with smudges on him. We used to make up tall stories about a treehouse we had in Cannock Chase that we would visit on evenings and weekends, despite never actually seeing each other out of school.
My dad introduced me to this movie when I was a kid, and I used to watch it all the time. I'm not an 80s kid but this is still one of my favourites to this day. I can hardly wait for this series!
Willow was truly the start of the Practical / CGI hybrid film according to ILM, so I truly TRULY hope they don't forget their roots with the series. Practical FX may cost more in a lot of ways, but the viewer will appreciate the end product and be able to suspend disbelief a lot easier if they know the object/person is real.

Willow was so ahead of its time. The original film looks incredible even today. So epic in scale in terms of production, unforgettable characters, great score, and beautiful story. Almost got choked up watching this new trailer. Willow was a huge part of our childhood and this looks nothing short of spectacular!

It's so nice to see that Warwick Davis is in this. The movie Willow will always be a favorite of mine. It was fun, adventurous, and had a great story. I hope this story honors the legacy.
I was excited too, and thank god this looks nothing like the original. It’s fresh, it’s 2020s. It’s diverse, but not diverse enough. All that horrible cloying “atmosphere” crap has been removed. There’s a focus here on something fresh, more like Game or Thrones and Princess Bride, but cleaner. Thankfully toxic white Madmartigan types aren’t in this.

Saw this when I was a teenager of 13 summer's and I have never forgotten it.
I got into D&D 2nd edition three years later unfortunately both myself and my brother fell in with power gamers and had to learn the hard way how to play my first ever PC was a Wizard that I had based of off Willow, unfortunately again the GM killed him off 1 minute later (I had played by the rules & made all of my numbers for saves). I asked him why his response "As an object Lesson" after that I made it my personal mission to make him Quit.
It took me 2 years to do it we moved a month after that and haven't played with any of them since.
Sorry it's just a hard memory for me this is one of those movies (& now a show) that Inspires a lot of people to follow one of there dreams.
BTW: if any gamers out there know what class the "bodyguard" was let me know I still haven't been able to figure it out to this day....

I had both a smile and a tear on my face watching this. Of all the trailers Disney has released this year, this one is the most meaningful. Willow was and always will be such a heartwarming classic, and seeing the great Warwick Davis come back just means so much. I truly hope kids and families of today will discover and delight in the sheer beauty that is Willow.

I remember watching willow on VHS multiple times when I was a kid. It's one of the best movie I've watch. Hearing that soundtrack again brings back memories. I hope this will be as good as the first one.

We're annoyed that things we loved as children are being brought back from the past by people with no talent only to be "updated" to modern woke standards - thus tainting the original product. We're left with 2 choices - ignore the new product and try to remember them for what they were or watch the new product and tainting our memories of the original.
Maybe Willow will be good, but the track record of what's been done to Star Wars, Star Trek, The Muppets, Dark Crystal, Lord of the Rings, etc., has many of us rolling our eyes at the obvious play for nostalgia that will likely have less to do with the original property than it does with modern politics.
What is wrong with the Dark Crystal? It seemed to be well received? (I'm talking about the Netflix show.) And Lord of the Rings? Star Trek? Star Wars isn't perfect but they've had some good new projects.
Also, beware the lens if nostalgia. It's just a pair of rose-colored glasses to make you believe the past was perfect (or close to) and nothing new can ever compare so we shouldn't even try. Very rooted in psychology.

Willow was a milestone in movie fantasy, epic scope, likeable characters, memorable villains, goody asides, it had everything. Too bad that we probably won't have Mad Martigan, but maybe something similar? We need a hero-scoundrel-swordsman-out of his depth but brave character.
Sadly, Val Kilmer isn't in much of a state to do much, if any, acting. Throat cancer robbed him of his voice and treatments of any cancer cause a lot of damage to the body. I briefly met him once at a convention. He was doing as well as he could, but it was a far cry from how he once was physically.
Yeah, I was thinking that was going to be the case. Too bad, that was one of the fun things about the original movie, the banter between the two. I'm sure they'll overcome it. Now they need to remake Rool and Franjean! Rool! Get out of the road!

James Horner's original score is an absolute masterpiece, and in my opinion, one of the most underrated scores of all time. This trailer doesn't feel the same without him.
Agreed. I remember seeing some trailers years ago that used the music from Willow because the actual music for the movie wasn't ready. I was like, "Hey! That's Willow. I know that music anywhere. Don't try to pass it off as music for some other movie."
Go watch the old movie Krull. It came out about five years before Willow, absolutely a so bad its great type of movie. But Horner did the music, and you can clearly hear a lot of the themes he would later use in Willow. The movie itself is not nearly as good as Willow, but its still a lot of fun.

Krull the movie I find unwatchable, but the score by Horner I listen to every once in a while. Especially the opening and closing credits and the love theme. It's another one of Horner's pure magic soundtracks.
What we really need, is the Monkey Island movie or TV Series!!! :)

Love Warwick Davis! Wasn't a big Willow fan when it came out but it had/has so much potential I guess you can call me one. Seeing Willow looking seasoned, tested, wise, and ready has me excited.

We are dying for more swords and sorcery movies... but under Disney at present? Unfortunately their current track record is lead to the sinking of more legendary franchises than the creation and advancement of them... I have hopes but they are bruised.

The Lucasfilm logo at the beginning gave me goosebumps. It made me think, what if Disney turned Lucasfilm into the Sci-fi/Fantasy studio it deserves to be. Put someone who knows the Sci-fi/Fantasy genre inside and out in charge. And then we could get some really fun and fantastical movies and TV shows. And Lucasfilm has plenty of existing IP, but if we had someone with some serious nerd cred running the show we could even see new Sci-Fi/Fantasy IP being made. That's what I'd love to see!

As a kid I saw this movie close to 100 times and always dreamed of a sequel to this beautiful classic

This is something that i totally missed growing up. Then i saw a random post on fb giving some backstory on the original and now here i am.
Instant goosebumps when the Willow theme plays. Loved this film since I first saw it as a kid in the 80's, so I'm really looking forward to this. Fingers crossed it's good.

Used to watch Willow all the time as a kid. It was one of the movies we’d always take with us when we would go on vacation in our travel trailer.
It's so hard to capture the magic of movies from yesteryear. I hope they do it justice and it's not just a cash grab

Why is it that in this endless abyssal void that Hollywood has become that a Willow TV Series is both the most faithful to its source material and the most interring thing to watch?! I had no expectations but I am so invested! Please be as good as this looks!

This trailer got me even more excited for this than I was before, because of how faithful it looks to the original. And not just to the story, but importantly, to the tone and the spirit of the original. We just don't get fun, whimsical, adventurous, feel-good movies as often as we did when the original Willow came out, and it feels awesome to see that classic style of fun film-making come back in a time where many shows (and reboots) prefer to be dark and gritty.

March 2023. Willow on Disney+ has been canceled. It was a gay teen romance on a quest where Willow showed up. Everybody pretty much hated and/or ignored the show, and it never found an audience.
The original movie was so good, not only was it a great movie, it had a brilliant story, good dialogue, great acting & in my opion one of the best soundtracks to any movie. I hope this will carry on the torch from the original!
My mother took my brother and I to see Willow when I was 8 and he was 12. It's one of our favorite movies of all time. And I'm still amazed at how many people have never seen it and how many people have never even heard of it.

My mother bought me the VHS when I was a kid and I watched it with no expectation and it was such a wonderful surprise. To see Joanne Whaley and Warwick Davis in here again makes me so happy. I can’t wait to see this. ☺️

Seeing the original when I was in elementary and now seeing this it has brought so many memories I had forgotten. This has brought tear to my eyes and I don't know why. But thank you to whom ever thought of bringing Willow back to this new generation. I hope my daughter gets intrigued as well like I once did.

I honestly thought I had lost the capacity to be excited by things like this, but me too. I watched Willow with my children and they have all loved it. I remember my friend and I, at school excitedly collecting some little foam bits of promotional nonsense for the film that came with, I think Weetabix, cereal. We were only nine, he was such lovely boy, always a little bit scruffy and with smudges on him. We used to make up tall stories about a treehouse we had in Cannock Chase that we would visit on evenings and weekends, despite never actually seeing each other out of school.

My dad introduced me to this movie when I was a kid, and I used to watch it all the time. I'm not an 80s kid but this is still one of my favourites to this day. I can hardly wait for this series!

Willow was truly the start of the Practical / CGI hybrid film according to ILM, so I truly TRULY hope they don't forget their roots with the series. Practical FX may cost more in a lot of ways, but the viewer will appreciate the end product and be able to suspend disbelief a lot easier if they know the object/person is real.
